I really enjoyed reading this book. Easy to read and entertaining.
Cracked me up!
Who would’ve thought that Australia is crawling with vampires and werewolves? I always suspected something else was going In the land down-under besides kangaroos.
I throughly enjoyed reading how Pepper had to overcome being a newly minted vampire, take on a job with her elderly spinster aunts (or are they…) and fight off mysterious werewolves.
This is a page turner you’ll enjoy.
Cheers

A great summer read!!
Very entertaining! I recommend this book.
Enjoyable and fun cosy mystery
With the quirky aunts, a thoroughly annoying man and a murder, Pepper has her hands full, running the bed and breakfast. The paranormal element added to the cosy mystery and made it more fun. In the beginning, Pepper did not understand much as her aunts did not discuss much with her. But as the story moves forward, her role in the story and the twists and the turns were very enjoyable. Liked it.
I enjoyed reading this first book in this series as I have always enjoyed reading the ones from Morgana. Each of the series she offers has something unique about them as this one is no exception. Pepper a.k.a. Valkyrie moves in with her eccentric aunts to help them run a Bed and Breakfast from their ancestral home. She is a witch but is that all she is? When a body falls into the entryway of the house just as she and a guest arrive, she realizes that there is more to her aunts than she first thought. I’m off to read the next installment of the series because I liked this book so much.
Pepper Jasper, a young Australian witch, answers a call of help from her ancient aunts. They run a bed and breakfast and need help. Things don’t start out well as Pepper has a dead body drop in as she enters her new home. The police seem a little uninvolved so Pepper dives into solving the mystery. Pepper is a young witch just learning her trade. Her aunts seem old but have no problems keeping up with the house. They do seem to encourage drinking a local wine.
This is a fun mystery as Pepper learns about her aunts and supernatural beings that she didn’t know existed as well as solves the mystery. Can’t wait for more!
Well now, this was an interesting paranormal cozy that I could really sink my teeth into. Valkyrie, aka Pepper is down on her luck job wise. Her three aunt’s invite her to join them in their ancestral home to help run their bed and breakfast. The B&B doesn’t actually serve breakfast and their cottages are all themed oddly. Then there’s the mess of a website that Pepper is going to sink her teeth into as soon as she can. Before any of that can happen, a dead body falls through the stained glass set into the roof! I should probably tell you that Pepper and her aunt’s are simple ordinary witches. However the sweet old aunts are a little eccentric and are probably hiding things from Pepper, like what’s in the forbidden room. I love the characters and plot of this book. Once I started it, I just had to keep reading. I couldn’t put it down. This seems quite a bit different from the paranormal cozies I like to read and I totally enjoyed it!
I love all of this authors books, they are fun to read and very hard to put down.
When Pepper relocates to Mugwort Manor to live with her 3 eccentric aunts she has no idea what’s in store for her. Enter the handsome Lucas, full of mystery and don’t forget the dead body that crashes through the skylight. Delightful twists and turns in the first book in the series- and yup, I bought book 2 already.
a beautiful ocean front b&b with scattered cottages, what a serene setting for mysterious guests. now take a beautiful vineyard, Now add a will giving anew to the area a vineyard and winery that makes a very special wine. Add them together, top it off with a murder and you have one page turning who dunnit. Did I mention, witchley powers run thru this town?
Valkyrie is a witch who has not been able to make it on her own. So, now, she has to go back to her eccentric aunts’ house for a while to help them with their Bed and Breakfast. As soon as she gets there, a man manages to spray mud all over her and a body drops dead from the above skylight! They have many secrets in this place and Pepper will find out she is one of them! The Paranormal world is not just a myth or legend it exists~ Pepper will have to adjust to a whole new world and discover things as they happen! Who is the killer? What is she? What is everyone else? Why are all the women so attracted to Lucas? This cozy mystery has many LOL moments and will keep your attention!
I seem to be in the minority on a lot of books lately. Could it be me? This book was depressing from the start and I moved on in search of something better pretty swiftly.
Boring and misrepresented.
I found the premise of this book hard to swallow. It involved a special type of wine made for vampires.
This is a light weight cozy murder mystery involving witches and other paranormal characters. Unfortunately, the story just wasn’t developed very well. It lacked twists and turns to hold my interest and not much progress is made in the investigation until the end when the case is resolved in a big information dump through dialogue between a couple of characters. It is the fatal writing flaw of “telling” rather than “showing” the reader the story. There is a seed of a potential romance that never materializes and suggestions that some characters may be more than what they seem to be which are obvious hold-overs for books later in the series. There just wasn’t enough in this book to keep it interesting.
Fun read if you can suspend your disbelief in the supernatural.
AN easy read
Did not hold my interest. Read only a couple of chapters.
