Terry Pratchett’s profoundly irreverent, bestselling novels have garnered him a revered position in the halls of parody next to the likes of Mark Twain, Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Adams, and Carl Hiaasen. The Color of Magic is Terry Pratchett’s maiden voyage through the now-legendary land of Discworld. This is where it all begins — with the tourist Twoflower and his wizard guide, Rincewind.
I love Terry Prachett and I love all his books
I’ve been a Douglas Adams fan since I was 12, but only just discovered Terry Pratchett via Good Omens. After reading that book I wanted to try a Terry Pratchett solo book, and was not disappointed. Insanely original and funny, The Color of Magic reminds me quite a bit of Douglas’s work, is lots of fan and definitely worth a read if you enjoy crazy …
Anything by the late Terry Pratchett is worth reading. My favorite is Hogfather.
I avoided Pratchett for many years. Too silly and trendy, I thought. Fortunate really because when I finally gave in I discovered an absolute treasure trove of books that kept me going for a long time. His characters have become some of my best friends.
Tarry’s great British humor!
loved it.
One of my favorite authors!
This is Terry Pratchett at his best. His characters are hilarious, original and quotable.
The first of the Discworld books, and probably the weakest. But even so, it’s a fun read.
Loved the series. Read virtually. Highly recommend getting audio version. After you watch good omens this march, pull out this series for same voice
It’s entertaining enough.
Enjoyable
This book was outrageously hilarious. I highly recommend this book and all others written by Terry Pratchett.
RIP Terry! I have loved all of his discworld books over the years.
It’s Terry Pratchett so you know it will be great. And funny. And clever. And it is!
So good had to read parts out loud to my children
I LOVE Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series! I’ve bought them all and I’ve read them! Great books! It’s been a couple of years, so it’s time to read them again.
If you love comedy and fantasy (heck, if you loved Monty Python and the Holy Grail), you can’t go wrong with this. It’s funny, it’s got great characters, and it’s the first of the Discworld books, though I do believe time-travel later on changes a bit of people/places you see here, but still. This book is great, and Rincewind is one of my favorite …
If you haven’t read Pratchett you must!!!
I read anything by Terry Pratchett, he is just that good.
