Why did I wait!
This ends on a helacios cliff hanger
My heart is breaking for Miera
From the moment her character is introduced she set the tone that would carry through this first in series
She is surviving the only way she knows how
She’s smart, spirited and lonely
Dusan is a true alpha in every sense. He is fair , caring, tough but just
The interactions between him and his little he ‘ll cat are so potent
I could feel how much he truly cared for her
Lucian has his own burden he carries, a life before the virus
She calls to his wolf in a way that gives him hope
This is all the things I look for in a series
Spectacular world building
A cast I can connect with
A believable plot line that is solid enough to keep me invested
On my tablet full review to follow
I have been wanting to find out what happened with this missing omega ever since I read Andorra Sector so this couldn’t come too soon for me.
So yeh this is a different author to that one but set in the same world.
This is a reverse harem read with I think 3 Heros for our Omega.
I say think as this is the first book in a duet and the story is yet to complete.
I was actually pleased with that fact as it meant this wasn’t rushed this took its time to help forge that initial connection.
So, Meira, an omega flees after she is captured from the wild by Ash Wolves as part of a current trade shipment between there packs.
She’s a lone Wolf who still hasn’t shifted living wild since her mother was killed by shadow monsters (Zombies).
Duscan is the Alpha of the Ash Wolves, Lucian is his third and finally Bardhyl his forth and Meira’s wolf feels a connection to all of them.
This didn’t disappoint and managed to keep my attention throughout.
I liked the fact this built the tension rather than jump straight into the matings.
There was plenty of action. likeable characters and a lot going on.
I am looking forward to the next part of this and seeing where this one goes this really was a great and imaginative start and it left me wanting more.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Shadowlands Sect

My first read by this author and definitely NOT my last – especially as this one ends on a cliffie!
I came to this story via Andorra Sector by Lexi C Foss. We briefly met Dusan there, though Mila Young’s clever world building and dissemination of information means you don’t need to read that to understand and enjoy this. The small number of chapters in this did make me wonder how the author was going to convincingly write a reverse harem story in the available time, so I’m glad it isn’t stand alone. So despite being absolutely desperate to know what happens next, I’m glad that this is going to be a longer, more complex and developed tale.
I LOVED Meira. A strong heroine, who might have been inexperienced in terms of contact with others, but she sure knew how to look after herself. Dusan needed to earn her affection, after all he had ‘stolen’ her from her life, one that she was perfectly content with. I liked how the pair did forge that connection, and loved that Dusan ultimately gave Meira the ability to choose freely.
Another thing I really appreciated, was how the author wove a story and set of circumstances that, both for Meira as well as the other females, made their capture a blessing rather than a curse. It pushed dub-con boundaries but was definitely the lesser of two evils.
I couldn’t read the book quickly enough and was totally captivated by it, falling in love with both Meira and Dulsan. Personally I needed to see a little more of Lucien with Meira, that part of the story line felt just a little bit too rushed for my liking. However I’m sure there will be plenty of opportunity to get to really know him, and Bardhyl who I suspect will prove equally important to the story. It was surprisingly slow burn, but when the flame did ignite boy was there a heatwave. SCORCHING.
This author’s fantastic writing, great characters and brilliant storyline has definitely found her a new fan.
Omg this book is heart pounding and not at all what you would ever expect. I love this book and the characters are absolutely amazing especially the fmc. The details in this book are stunning and very vivid. I definitely recommend this book as a must read.
A surprisingly good new author to me
Andorra Sector started me off on my Zombie 2099 journey. Now admittedly, I don’t like Zombie stories but this is more about the shifters that live in a world of the infected and their interactions are minimal at times…..they do play a small background role
That said, I was excited to find out more about the wolf shifter who escaped the shipment to Andorra Sector and I was pleasantly surprised to find another good, new to me, author This book is the first in a series, so expect a cliffhanger – unlike me
I received an advanced copy and I voluntarily leave my honest review
I got soooo sucked into this one. I just loved it! It’s an angle on wolf shifters I’ve never read before. It’s a great idea and I really like the characters. She is such a spitfire! I loved watching how everything played out and now I need the next book! I need to know what’s going to happen…
After being introduced to Dusan and Mad in Lexi C. Foss’s “Andorra Sector” I knew I had to read Shadowland Sector. I had to see what the wolf who caught the stern Alpha’s eye would be like. Meira is a spitfire, but hiding from the world and adept at avoiding the undead who roam the woods she calls home. After escaping the plane set to take her to Andorra Sector, Dusan sets out to find her. Her escape, after all, puts his trade deal with Andorra Sector in jeopardy. The second his wolf scents hers, however, he’s intrigued and he begins to realize he can’t send her to another sector.
Something is different about Meira, though, and she’s caught the eye of not only Dusan, but also a couple of his most trusted advisors. Alphas don’t share… Or do they? The story drew me in and kept me reading. Now I’m in a book hangover and in need of book 2 like yesterday, because that cliffhanger… Holy heck, I need to know what happens!
I loved Meira and the struggles she has gone through and when she finds her mates it’s explosive! I like the way the story started because it had me on edge from the very beginning and I could only bite my nails waiting to see what would happen next. I was not happy with the cliffhanger however. I’ve been hooked on these stories from Zombie Year 2099 and the ones that end in a cliffhanger are so disappointing. I will be picking up the next book though since now I am invested in these characters.
Mila you have done it again. This is the start of a new series that will just suck you right in. Meria has always known that she was different and that she needed to stay away from other wolves in order to survive. Her luck finally runs out one day and her life is about to change.
This book will draw you in and won’t let you go. The twists and turns that it takes will leave you wanting more. I can’t wait
Shadowlands Sector by Mila Young is part of the Zombie Year 2099 collection and is book 1 in part of a series. The book focuses on Meira, a young woman who witnesses the death of her mother and community by the hands of the Shadowland Beasts (zombies). Left alone, she escapes into the woods where she lives by herself for many years until she is captured by the Ash Wolves who trade in females, especially those with wolf genetics. Miraculously Meira escapes only to find herself in the hands of Dusan, the Ash Wolves Alpha who knows there is something different about her and isn’t going to trade her until he figures out the truth. Added into the mix of this story is also Lucien and Bardhyl who are also drawn to Meira, even though they know that three alphas cannot claim one female.
The book mainly focuses on the relationship between Meira and Dusan and how even though partially mated, Meira still doesn’t shift. Lucian has a smaller role and we see the development of his character and relationship with Meira as well as the background in what makes him the man he is. the relationship between Bardhyl is short in book one, but no less intense and I am guessing that we find out more about him during the second installment.
This book is full of action and intrigue. Not only do you have the relationship between the wolves, but also what it is like to live in the forest surrounded by these hordes of zombies who seem to be intrigued by Meira. There is a lot of twist and turns in her story and it is only during the last few chapters that we really get to know what is going on with her and why she is so important.
You are certainly left with a cliff-hanger and lots of unanswered questions at the end, but that is what makes the book so exciting. A good paranormal read with some steamy scenes, strong alphas and a heroine that’s not going to give in.
