“I do.” Two little words I’ve always wanted to say… You know before I turned into a perpetually single, TV-dinner-eating party of one with thirty cats and a worn-out BOB. Wink. Wink. I’ve swiped left, right, up, down. I’m over it! Now I’m taking matters into my own manicured hands and changing the dating game with my guaranteed to set a date love app. The only thing standing in my way? Owen … app.
The only thing standing in my way? Owen Decker. And his huge…ego.
With his perfect hair, perfect teeth, and less than perfect proposal. Not the down-on-one-knee kind. Oh no. A business proposal to merge my dating app with the Hotline Hookup brand.
What harm could it do? Owen is the last person I would walk down the aisle to. After all, he’s my brother’s best-friend and business partner.
Been there. Done that…literally!
I guess you can say we’re frenemies with benefits.
But I’m looking for the one. And this app is going to help me find him. Just not in the way I’d planned.
It’s easy to fall for the enemy when you’re ring ready!

This was such a cute story! I loved Owen in the last book and you could tell there was tension simmering between him and Mal. If we only knew…they’re enemies at best. Constantly out to one up each other. What we didn’t realize is how close the got before only for it to fizzle out and be thrown in Mal’s faces. It’s a constant back and forth with ole ty of angst and tension. There’s humor and hotness. What more could you want?? Loved it!
Mallory and Owen are enemies, or so we think. They both work for Mal’s brother at Hotline Hookup. While I love the trope of enemies to lovers, I feel this one missed the mark. I felt like this story was all over the place.
Mal was angry at Owen because after a perfect night together, Owen acted like a jerk and pushed her away. And I feel the reason why is soo silly. For 2 years Owen treated her like dirt while she worked for him, and he did it because he loved to get her riled up? Lame! And while he claimed to have loved her through the 2 years he treated her like crap, he flirted with women, hooked up with women, etc. When he finally apologized to her, she forgave him in seconds. WHAT?
I just skimmed over most of the story as it didn’t keep my interest. I forced myself to finish, because I really like the first book of the series and I was HOPING it got better, it didn’t. UGH. Glad I got it through Kindle Unlimited, because ‘d be mad if I had to pay for it.
Cary hart has done it again. Ring ready does not disappoint. The main characters Mal and Owen leave you wanting more from their story and have a tension you can feel and want to just yell go get a room already. This book definitely is worth the ready and I highly recommend it.
Owen and Mallory’s story is a well written romantic comedy, which is an enemies / lover, humorous, fun, and entertaining read, with an unexpected twist thrown into the mix. I was enthralled throughout this riveting tale and I highly recommend for all readers.
I really enjoyed the way the characters interact in this, it did make me chuckle. The idea behind the book is a good one and kept me very much involved and intrigued, I wanted to know what was going to happen. I loved how they worked things through. I could quite happily spend more time with them.
“My love was unconditional. I loved you through the hate and kissed you through the hurt. “ -Mal
Mal and Owen’s story is frustrating, comical and cute. The two are flawed and lovable. Parts of their story pulled on my heartstrings quite a bit.
There were times I wanted to grab Owen by the ear and smack him upside the head but he’s actually a really good hearted and loyal person. When he reveals his secret my heart melted.
Mal and Owen are perfect for each other. Both are intelligent, quick witted and stubborn. They keep each other on their toes. I had fun going on this journey with them and look forward to reading the next. (4.5)
Mallory and Owen are funny when they are fighting and trying not to acknowledge the attraction between them. Being thrown together to work on a project for the Hotline Hookup show can either go ready bad or really, really, good. All the friends are back from Book 1 in the series and even Kramer has some great lines. I look forward to CJ’s story.
Mallory Montgomery works at Hotline Hookup which is owned by her brother Austin. She absolutely hates her boss Owen Decker who is her brother’s best friend and the two have a bit of a history. Her best friend, CJ Collins, thinks that Mallory should turn her own bad dating around by creating a perfect app that will allow her to find Mr. Right.
When Owen Decker learns about Mallory’s plans he decides that he wants to create his own dating app, even though he knows it will make Mallory angry. What he doesn’t expect is that Austin will force them to work together.
Can Mallory and Owen find a way to successfully work together or will their past and Owen’s reputation cause too much tension for them to succeed?
This was such a great read full of laughs and lots of sexual tension!
I thought Mallory was a great character who had a great idea and wanted a chance to succeed with it on her own but unfortunately her brother had different ideas. I liked the ideas that Mallory had and how she had a great support system with CJ and Cleo. It was obvious that Owen had done a number on her in the past and she wanted to prove herself to her brother and to Owen.
Owen seemed like quite the player right from the start and I could see how he could have broken Mallory’s heart. I was mad that he wanted in on the app and never gave Mallory a chance to do it on her own.
There was so much sexual tension between Mallory and Owen and I wondered when things would happen and when they did I was so mad at Owen after!! I felt horrible for Mallory because they had been drinking and everything that Owen did after. I was especially mad about him hiring Kayla as you could tell right from the get go that she wanted him.
I enjoyed Owen and Mallory trying out the app and the different stages that they had to go through in the app. I really loved the idea of getting to know someone before seeing them and discovering more about the people through conversation.
I was impressed with Owen when he finally figured out how he felt and did something about it and where he brought Mallory.
I was so mad right along with Mallory when she discovered something sideways and I knew who was to blame and I was so angry! I was impressed with Owen and how he reacted and he was definitely lucky!! I was so proud of Mallory after that with what she did!
I loved the conversation that Owen had with Austin and how he pretty much knew everything already!
The epilogue with Owen and Mallory was awesome!
Ring Ready is the second book in the Hotline Hookup Series. It can be read as a stand-alone. I haven’t read the the first book, Unlucky In Love, and I was able to follow along just fine. Ring Ready is a romcom, frenemies to lover, older brother’s best friend and office romance read. I’m pretty sure this is my first time reading Cary Hart .
Mallory is our heroine. She is getting fed up in the dating world. Tried of dating and trying to find someone who isn’t just looking for a hookup. In the mist of all of this, she is still hung up on Owen. Her brothers best friend. Who she also happens to work with. They had one glorious night, led her to believe he wanted more, and then ghosted her.
Owen is a jerk, or at least that’s what he wants Mallory to believe. He has no desire to have Austin (Mallory’s brother, and also their boss), to find out about them. So he is literally a dick to her on purpose. What Mallory and Austin don’t know, is that Owens mother had a stroke, and he is trying to find a way to pay for the care that she needs.
Mallory comes with an idea for a dating app that will help you find love-if that’s what you are looking for . Owen tries to beat her to the punch, but Austin puts them both on the project, which forces them to work more closely together. What’s the worst that could happen?
This book does have a lot of humor and snark. I was able to connect with the characters and liked seeing them get the HEA.
3.5 funny stars!!
This is book two of the “Hotline Hookup” and can be read as a stand alone. But I will say I absolutely adored the first book!
Mal works for her older brother, Austin, at a radio show. She is ready to shine and make this life hers. Problem is one asshat is standing in her way. Her boss, Owen.
Mal and Owen have so much tension but the banter is hilarious!! Mal is like the perfect chick, I just love her. Owen is the sarcastic ass you love to hate. These two are hot together!!
One thing about this series is for some reason I get lost in all the characters at the beginning. I can’t tell who is speaking and who belongs where. I can’t figure out why but both books did that. With that said I actually love all the characters. This group of friends are hilarious. Cj’s book will be laugh out loud funny!!
**I received this as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
A great story. I loved the characters, and the storyline. Loved how the main characters didn’t “like” each other but ended up finding out what the thought they felt was not true. I couldn’t stop reading until I found out what happened. Definetly would recommend
This one has everything. The cover was gorgeous. There were hilarious moments, especially when CJ was involved! There were sassy characters. There was some major love-hate between Mal & Owen. Kramer…love Kramer! There was sexy food eating, and even sexier other moments, and one girl who desperately tried to be, but wasn’t. There were some very sweet moments too. Loved it!

Ring Ready Book 2 Hotline Hookup
By Cary Hart
5 Stars
I really am enjoying and love this series! Very entertaining enemies to lovers romance! Love the characters! A lot of funny moments and plenty of twists and turns.
“Everyone says I got lucky, but I know it wasn’t just luck. It was fate.”
Fantastic story! I can not wait to see what is next!
Mallory and Owen are thrown together to work on a project, but will their personal lives get in the way? The tension between them from something that happened a few years before is thick and very present when they’re together.
This story flowed together perfectly with appearances by characters from Unlucky In Love!
Tissue alert: Meeting mom!!
Mal is living Pay check to paycheck working a job she truly enjoys, with one exception- Owen. The last few years have been rough. She has dreams.
Owen knows he has been less thank the perfect person to work with. He has his reasons.
When Mal comes up with an idea for a better dating app the two are paired with one another to work on perfecting and launching the app.
This book was hilarious and way cute. I loved how everything evolved and how side characters played such an amazing part in the plot. How will Owen and Mal end up? Will they find their perfect match using their creation? Read Ring Ready to find out!
I really enjoyed this book. The story flows well and the characters are so relatable! I loved the back and forth between Mal and Owen. They were the perfect couple for this enemies to lovers trope! I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
Hilarious, absolutely hilarious. Mallory and Owen hooked up over two years ago and she gave it her all, so did Owen, but he lied. It’s been a tumultuous two years and now they have to work together. It’s almost cringe worthy what they say and do to each other.
Mal’s posse consists of Clover (her future sister-in-law) and CJ, an over the top bestie. There are donuts, Monopoly strategy and cheap properties, glitter and the tri-fold board, coffee, Alice, pizza porn, and of course Kramer! Watch out for coffee shop authors writing their next novel.
It’s an enjoyable read and a great next chapter in The Hotline Connection series.
I received this advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review.
I just loved the dynamic between Owen and Mal. They were just perfect tougher l, they just needed to realize it first.
Brilliant Hilarious romantic comedy from Cary Hart. Mal moved to the big city to work with her brother and as the assistant to her brother’s business partner and best friend, Owen. Owen and Mal have history. History that meant more to Mal than it did to Owen. History that meant a world of pleasure to Mal but nothing more than a one night stand for Owen. Now she is forced to work for him daily fetching coffee!! Mal’s big chance to break out of this role comes up and she plans to own this deal and break out of the daily ramen meals but first she has to break Owen!! I loved this one and all it’s humorous banter. I am looking forward to CJ’s story next!!
