Two single parents and three adorable kids are about to have a summer they’ll never forget in this sexy, heartwarming new novel of the New York Times bestselling series. Following the sudden death of his wife, Nathan Bell spent nearly two years burying himself in work and neglecting his biggest responsibility: his daughter. Overcome with guilt, he wants to connect with little Marley, but he … Marley, but he doesn’t know how to do it alone. And then Jenna Savage throws him a lifeline.
A single mom of twins, Jenna is more than capable of taking care of Nathan’s adorable two-year-old and wants to help Nathan however she can. As the days go by and her attraction to Nathan grows, she can’t help wondering what might happen if they became a family for real. And the closer everyone becomes, the more right it feels.
Falling in love forces Nathan to face his biggest fear, and when hearts — both big and little — are on the line, the only thing scarier than needing Jenna and her kids so much is losing them all.

I absolutely loved this one! Nate, oh Nate you’re now my favorite J. Daniels hero! Sexy, broken single dad finding his way. Strong Jenna, with her beautiful twins, helps navigate their journey. Their chemistry is electric, their banter is flirty and their connection powerful. A must read and a definite favorite of this series. All the feels!!
This was my first book by J. Daniels and I F’LOVED it! The subject matter isn’t for the faint of heart, but it will tug at your heart strings for everyone involved. Sometimes it is hard to see what is right in front of you. If you are truly lucky you recognize what you have before it is lost! I can’t wait to read more from J. Daniels.
Down Too Deep is a moving tale of second chances that will have you laughing through tears! This was my first read in the Dirty Deeds series, so I can attest that it can be read as a stand alone, but I’m definitely going back and reading the first three books so I can learn more about the people in Jenna’s life.
This was my first J. Daniels’s book. This is the fourth book in the Dirty Deeds Series. This sweet, emotional, and fun romance is beautifully written. This is a great single parents story, with three adorable kids! Nathan and Jenna are great together. Jenna, a single mom of twins, is a strong and lovely woman, very supportive and caring. Nathan, a single dad, is handsome. His past is heartbreaking. The littles ones, Marley, Oliver and Olivia, are so cute!!! I loved this heartwarming story. The friendship and the family spirit in this story are awesome! I’m looking forward for more books written by J. Daniels.
Down Too Deep showcases J. Daniels’s sentimental side. I can’t seem to get enough of single parent romances lately, and this one is a real treat. Get ready for cuteness overload.
Jenna is a single mom to eight-year-old twins. Nate is a widower with a toddler that he barely knows. When Jenna offers to babysit Nate’s daughter for the summer, their lives quickly become intertwined.
Alpha males are fairly common in romantic fiction, and I am definitely a fan. However, I love that Nate is a man who is at his weakest point, and he isn’t afraid to let his vulnerability show. Jenna is straight up Superwoman with her awesome parenting skills. She is generous with her time, and always offers Nate emotional support without being judgmental. Their chemistry is fantastic.
Seeing Jenna’s kids fall for Nate and his daughter is almost as wonderful as watching Nate and Jenna fall in love. Oliver, Olivia, and Marley are so stinking cute. I absolutely adored them. The whole story is charming and virtually drama free. Of course, J. Daniels also throws in some spicy sex times as well. Well done.
I’m a huge J. Daniels’ fan. Her earlier stories are some of my absolute favorites, and her Dirty Deeds series brings the steam, the drama, and the emotions that I’ve come to expect from Daniels’ writing. And the fact that both the hero and heroine are single parents in her newest release, Down Too Deep, was only one of the reasons that I couldn’t wait to dive into Nathan and Jenna’s story.
It’s mind boggling just how much Nate transforms throughout the course of the book. The Nate readers meet at the beginning compared to the one that he becomes illustrates how far he’s come since the death of his wife and the subsequent two years he spent singularly focused on his work because he couldn’t seem to handle anything else. And while Jenna plays a huge role in helping Nathan understand what’s important in life, he also has to be willing to do the work, willing to make up for his time spent away from his daughter. And that’s what impressed me most about him – the fact that he wanted a second chance to do right by his precious girl and maybe even a second chance to feel loved by someone who seems to get him and wants to be with him, even if he’s still a bit bent and broken.
Jenna’s present in Nathan’s life helps him to make the changes he needs to and along the way as Jenna keeps him moving forward and Nathan sees exactly what it means to be truly present in his daughter’s life, the bond between them…between all of them, including Jenna’s twins, becomes paramount to their lives. Loss has seemed to be Nate’s most faithful friend for quite some time, and now that he’s moving forward, some growing pains will occur, but with him on the right path now and with Jenna’s unyielding support, there’s nothing he can’s overcome…nothing he can’t make right in the present.
Jenna is an amazing mom, an amazing friend…she’s just simply amazing. J. Daniels did an amazing job of crafting Jenna’s character showing readers just how perfectly imperfect she is and why she can be the one to help Nate find his way, and, in return, feel like her life is even more fulfilled with Nate and Marley in her life.
Love in all capacities is at the forefront of Nate and Jenna’s story. Love for one’s children, love for one’s family, love for one’s friends, love for one’s self, and love for a significant other are all explored throughout the course of the book and what allowed me to see past Nate’s hands-off approach to his daughter after his wife passed away is the fact that readers get to watch his and Marley’s bond grow and become absolutely essential to Nate. And then when Nate and Jenna join forces and have each other’s back, we see just how much all five of them care for each other and rely on one another and that’s truly a precious gift for all of them.
The story line and characters in Down Too Deep epitomize the qualities of a book that gives readers all the feels. With everything that these five people have to overcome, to work through, to heal from, emotions play a significant role in all of their lives and while there are some definite growing pains, at the end, being as deep as they are with each other, allows Nate and Jenna the opportunity to truly live and love, and that’s all any of us deserve.
4.5 Poison Apples
I literally DEVOURED this book!! If it wasn’t for sleep I would have finished it one night lol. It was seriously that good and I couldn’t put it down!!
This book has some steamy parts but it also shows how a family can build after a tragedy. Nathan was hurting and yes his parents stepped in but now it was time for him to step up. His adorable daughter needed him. Jenna was a Godsend to him. She opened her heart to him and helped in a time of need. What started out as a simple I don’t want to say babysitting cause she’s an adult but that’s what she’s doing. Anyway, she creates the loving and laughter that Nathan desperately needs. He starts to crave her and miss her when he screws up and has to beg for forgiveness. She gives him feelings he’s never felt before. This book pulls on the heartstrings and makes you realize how precious time is. I must say as much as I love Nathan and Jenna, the kids(Olivia, Oliver and Marley) stole the show. They cared so much and added so much to the story. I mean they were sneaky especially Olivia. Her and her secret notebook added a lot to the story and made me laugh! This is one of my favorites this year!!
5 Needs All of them Together Stars!!!
Oh my heart…it’s so full of love and joy having just finished this latest book by Ms. Daniels. Don’t get me wrong, it was a somewhat painful ride to get to this point, because let’s face it Nathan has survived something that is debilitating, which we see at the beginning of the book, but once Jenna and her kids Olivia and Oliver enter his and Marley’s world on a consistent basis, everything turns around!
Ms. Daniels has brought us back into these characters’ world and everyone is full of love and understanding and wanting to help Nate and his beautiful daughter heal and move on. But that’s generally so much more difficult than we think it is. His pain is so deep and has broken him that I wasn’t sure anything could bring him to life again. Leave it to Jenna and her love of life and his daughter to make him want to live and love again.
This book moves at a quick pace and it fits perfectly for their love. When kids are involved hearts need to be protected sometimes, but in this instance these kids showing Nate and Marley all this love had my heart filled with warmth.
Jenna is a woman that would do anything for those that she loves and as her feelings for this man grows, her heart becomes more and more attached and embedded into their lives and for a while it’s beautiful. But this wouldn’t be a book about reclaiming love and life if there weren’t obstacles and hurdles to jump over. In my mind these trying times just makes this book that much more perfect….it’s realistic in how we learn to love again and that it’s okay to love this deeply again. It’s also a story about forgiveness.
Ms. Daniels has given us a story that brings us back to a small coastal town that I love and adore. I fell in love again with this crazy bunch of people and the love they have for each other proving that family isn’t always because of being related by blood. It’s full of redemption, all-encompassing love and a story that will forever be in my heart.
A great touching emotional read. Two single parents, three beautiful children and an exceptional story on love and family.
My heart died for Nathan and all I wanted to do was hug the beautiful man. Suddenly he’s a single father and he’s lost , trying to find his way back to his daughter and life.
Marley is a single mother of twins who will steal your heart. Their father not around they are desperately wanting to be a family.
This is an amazing read, the children, all three of them will have you laughing. I loved the story, the writing was phenomenal and I couldn’t put it down.

Wow!! Down Too Deep has left me speechless, I’m struggling to process all the feels that have taken over. This is my first book by J. Daniels after several recommendations and reading that blurb, I knew I needed to pop my cherry! I spent the day immersed in Nathan and Jenna and their adorable kids. There’s nothing that pulls at your heart strings harder than squishy faced kids! This book has it all; a sexy AF single dad with a wounded soul, a forever giving single mom with a heart of gold, kids that make your heart bleed with love for them, and HAWT chemistry that had me turning pages faster than my eyes could keep up. This book delivered EVERYTHING in a perfectly wrapped package.
Nate and Jenna’s journey to love was not an easy one. Every step of the way, I am here for it. Their emotional connection was not one that could ever be denied, it put a smile on my face, and tears in my eyes (and I’m not a crier!). I felt everything! Down Too Deep is totally captivating. It’s heartfelt, romantic, joyful, a small emotional roller coaster, and damn I loved EVERY. SINGLE. PAGE! These two will be in my dreams for days to come, I don’t feel them letting go of my heart for some time. You need to read this book! J. Daniels has delivered a magical combination with this story.
*Deep dreamy sigh* I love this book with all my heart! J. Daniels has outdone herself with Down Too Deep. There isn’t a sweeter, more heartfelt book out this year. Nate, Jenna, Oliver, Olivia and Marley gave me the swoons with the feels and I couldn’t get enough. I would give this book more than 5 stars if I could. Love, love, love!!
I’ve wanted Nate and Jenna’s story for what feels like forever. In the beginning, we see Nate struggling to connect with his two year old daughter, Marley, after neglecting her first so long. He was so clueless and carried a world of guilt for his abandonment. I felt his pain. If I could have, I would have reached in and gave him the world’s longest hug. You could definitely sense how much he wanted to change for her. How much he wanted a relationship. With Jenna’s help, it was great to see him grow into a pretty fantastic father. If you’ve read Four Letter Word, you already know what an incredible mom Jenna is. She is the kind of heroine you admire but also want to be best friends with. The way she cares for her twins, Oliver and Olivia, as well as Marley shows just how big her heart is.
I loooved all the moments with the kids. These were the moments that melted my heart the most. They each have their own shinning personalities. They’re fun and charismatic but also serious and hopeful. Nate’s relationship with Jenna’s kids, especially, made my knees weak. I could read a million Nate and Olivia moments and it still wouldn’t be enough.
With all the sweetness and tender moments, don’t be fooled to think it’s lacking in heat. Nate and Jenna created the most delicious tension and longing. When they got their moments away, the made thr most of them.
J. Daniels’ has really upped up her game with the last two books in the Dirty Deeds series. Down Too Deep is a beautifully written romance featuring two single parents learning to love again. If you’re looking for book filled with so much heart and hope then this one is for you. I can’t recommend this one enough. It’s without a doubt a top read of 2019!
You know that saying about saving the best for last? Well, J. Daniels has delivered on that old adage.
This. Book. Is. Everything.
I have been waiting for Nathan’s story since the very beginning. Knowing the situation he’s in, it’s been torture waiting for his story to unfold. But even without knowing these things about Nathan, I would have fallen for him anyway within the first few chapters. This man will steal your heart. He’s an amazing man dealt an impossible situation, going through the motions the only way he knows how. But it’s when the tension dissipates, that you realize just how amazing he is. He’s sweet, loving, funny, and undeniably sexy. I’m telling you, this guy is going to wreck you.
Jenna is equally amazing. I love her character. She’s kind and generous, loyal and loving. She’s a beautiful soul, and a perfect answer to what Nathan needs in his life. She’s not without her own struggles, but you’d never be able to tell it by watching her. She’s tough, resilient, and stronger than she gives herself credit for.
This story is raw, it’s real, and it’s emotional. You’re going to ride a roller coaster with this one. It’s cuteness overload, coming home to good friends, and sizzling passionate heat all rolled into one of the best stories I’ve read all year. I can’t rave about this book enough. It is a must-read book, in a must-read series, by a must-read author. In case you couldn’t guess, this book gets ALL the stars.
Oh my heart, my sated little heart. J. Daniels really did me in with this Dirty Deeds #4 because Nathan and Jenna were definitely not what I was expecting.
Jenna has a heart of gold and will do anything for anyone, especially since she makes sure everyone comes before her. Technically, she makes sure everyone else’s needs come before hers.
I was especially taken with Olivia and Oliver. Those two kids were two little gems. I mean, Jenna had it good with these two kids and who wouldn’t want a woman that has a heart of gold and kids that are so damn lovable and irresistible right!!
Maybe Jenna and Nathan didn’t get off to a good start but when she saved his butt by offering to watch his little daughter while he worked is what did him in and their relationship sparked from that moment on. She was the most hands-on babysitter ever. I would definitely kill to have a babysitter like Jenna. A loving, caring and nurturing woman who also loved others the same as she did her own.
J. Daniels really gets praised for writing such a wonderfully romantic book.
I don’t think I sighed so much in any other book the way I did with this one.
To be honest, I was a bit on the nervous side after reading the blurb, especially since it’s been a bit since I’ve read from J. Daniels. But my heart is so full after finishing Down Too Deep that I shouldn’t have worried at all.
The first meeting between Nathan and Jenna had me chucking and cringing a bit. It was different and they didn’t exactly get off on the right foot. But when Nathan finds himself in a predicament, it was Jenna, unexpectedly, to the rescue. I loved her patience and compassion. And how she gently gave Nathan the push he needed to open up and build a relationship with Marley.
It was the small moments captured between questions for curious kids, dinners and scheduling that made Jenna and Nathan’s slow-burning romance really soar. The hand holding, the ‘talk to me’, the photo updates of the day. The relationship between Jenna and the kids, and Nathan and the kids was the right amount of sweetness to break up some of the heaviness of what had happened to them in the past. And how could they not fall for someone who so obviously adored their children.
Down Too Deep is the kind of book I love. Rife with emotion. Characters that were wonderfully flawed and impossible not to root for. Especially since they had both lost much in the past. Jenna and Nathan’s story was everything a second chance at happily ever after should be.
I really liked this book J. Daniels is a new author to me, but now I’m going to be on the lookout for her books!
I’ve been waiting very “patiently” to get my hands on Nate and he didn’t disappoint! This is the fourth book in the series and if you have been following them, you know Nate is a widower and Jenna is Bryan’s sister. They come together in a most honest and beautiful way ever. This story is so full of love, it will take your breath away. I smiled so much reading this book and couldn’t put it down once I got started! I just loved absolutely everything about these two and their kids.
You know when you read THAT book? The one that you just can’t put down? The one you smile while reading and when it gets to THAT emotional point, you feel it in your soul??
This book. This story. This couple.
You seriously need it on your kindle, on your shelf, in your life.
I’m having such a hard time putting into words my love for Down to Deep. This is one of the BEST books I’ve read in 2019 and has made its way to one of my favorite books of all time. Nate and Jenna’s story is one of the most heartfelt, loving and emotional books I’ve read in a long time. This story will resonate with me for a long, long time.
Wow! I feel like I’ve been waiting for the fourth installment to the Dirty Deeds series for-ev-er, and it was so worth the wait! J. Daniels writing a single parent book?? SIGN ME UP! J. Daniels is an amazing storyteller! Nate and Jenna’s story was EVERYTHING! I was not able to put this book down! FIVE STARS!!

Everyone’s meet cute put a huge smile on my face. I knew then this was going to be a great story! My heart was singing thru this book so darn much! It was glorious how the children were integrated in the story as part of the journey and not just props. They too were on the path to HEA. I LOVED EVERY WORD!!
Excellent heartwarming second chance at all the things romance story!
