“Maybe you have to know the darkness before you can appreciate the light.” ~ Madeline L’EngleDarkness has fallen upon the Sparrow world. What seemed secure was breached, and what was assumed unattainable is possible. In this dangerous underground world, we Sparrows took our power by force. As dusk gave way to dark, we Sparrows are once again determined to use any means necessary to recover what … necessary to recover what is ours, secure our stronghold, and defeat those who appear unconquerable.
The gauntlet has been thrown.
We will not retreat.
Darkness be damned. It is time for triumph.
I am Reid Murray.
For my wife and my brothers-in-arms, nothing, not even darkness, will stop the Sparrows from victory.

Well, the Queen of cliffhangers has done it once again. Aletha has held me captive with all of the Web Series, but this trio? I feel like I have been waiting for this for forever.
Lorna is havening PTSD. She can’t remember what happened while she was captive but memories from long ago, deeply hidden have resurfaced. Lorna is having a hard time discerning nightmares from things that actually happened in her past. But with the Sparrow support system she is working through things.
Reid on the other hand wants to destroy everything and anything that had a hand in harming Lorna. He is precariously close to tipping over the edge into darkness. As he confronts one issue from Lorna’s past, everything changes in an instant.
Want to know what happens and how Aletha keeps us hankering for me – one click now. You won’t be disappointed. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Now will be the torture of waiting for the third and final book.

Dark is as gripping as Dusk from the opening to the end I was hooked! It was such an emotional read. The things Lorna went through while growing up keeps coming back to her. No matter how she tries to forget them and reading them for me was a challenge. However, it’s a pivotal scene that will define Lorna as a woman of substance. The kind of woman whom Reid fell in love with and will always be at her side during these trying times. The plot thickens as the Sparrow men continue to delve deeper to find out who’s responsible for the kidnapping. I am looking forward to the next book.
I’m amazed at how articulately Ms. Romig can tell a story without losing me. The character development is very rich and the entire book keeps me engaged. They make me laugh, cry, and scream, along with every other possible emotion. If you like twists and turns, it has and I was not bored on a single page. The story-telling is crisp, the narrative compelling, and a definite must-read series!
Dark, is the second installment of the trilogy of Lorna and Reid’s story. It picks up right after Dusk ends. Even though the women are found, this book really delves into Lorna’s past and is it dark. The twist and turns just keep on coming. The suspense keeps one turning the pages to find some answers, We do get a look into what Lorna endured as a child which was horrifying but we are still no closer to why they were abducted. The only clue we have was that it seems they took the wrong woman. Anyway, the book ends on a big cliffhanger of course leaving one waiting for the conclusion of this OMG trilogy. Aleatha BRAVO once again for another great book in another great trilogy. I love the names of the books in this trilogy and so aptly put this book is called Dark and the third installment is called Dawn. As the saying goes, it is always the darkest before the Dawn.

Dark picks right-up where Dusk left-off. Lorna is back safe at the Sparrow Tower with Reid. As dreams plague Lorna at night, she almost feels that they happened to her in real-life. Reid and the rest of the Sparrow crew are on a revenge mission to find-out if the Order as part of the kidnapping as well as the very few leads they have. Dusk also flashed back to Lorna’s and Mason’s childhood growing up with the woman that claimed to be their “mother”. The reader finds out some horrible truths and have shaped Lorna and Mason into the adults they are today.
Dark is suspenseful and climatic as all of Aleatha’s books are. Unfortunately, DarAleatha Romig k was over before I knew and left me wanting more, especially after the last chapter.
This was difficult to read at times, but Aleatha did an amazing job. So many twists and turns. I can not wait to see how Reid and Lorna’s story concludes.
