There’s a fine line between love and hate, and it’s about to be set on fire.Brix Ward is a Grade A prick. He’s arrogant, spoiled, and self-centered. As the lead singer of A Rebels Havoc, he’s used to women falling over themselves for a chance to tame the wild bad boy.Except for me.I still remember the boy I grew up with. The one who went out of his way to make my life a living hell. I did my best … way to make my life a living hell. I did my best to avoid him at all costs.
Imagine my surprise when our parents announced they had eloped, then left me to live with my new stepbrother. Alone.
Now, no matter what I do, there’s no escaping him. He’s always there, tempting me, provoking me. Every moment of every day. The more we’re around each other, the more the heat between us begins to rise.
If he thinks he can hurt me again, he’s dead wrong.
I won’t let him be the one to destroy me, even if it breaks my heart.
Author’s Note: This is Book One in the A Rebels Havoc series. It can be read as a standalone and has a HEA. Due to strong sexual content, coarse language and mature subject matter, this book is not suitable for under the age of 18.

I absolutely loved this book. It made my heart so happy. Made me a little tearful in a good way. And there was a twist I definitely didn’t see coming. Highly recommended this enemies to lovers book!
Do people really change?
Ivy is sweet, kind and loving. Brix is a douche bag. Her scars run deep and they are because of him. This book had me turning the pages and also emotionally invested. Is he just trying to hurt her again?
This is a must read.
Brix broke my heart and put it back together. He’s gorgeous and a jerk with a heart of gold. When you’re reading this you actually feel him growing into a better version of himself.
Ivy is beautiful and witty and doesn’t want a thing to do with her old tormentor until they’re thrown together and she sees the man he wants to be.
This is so beautifully written and I was …. I’m not going to lie. I didn’t want to let them go
Holy hotness! This was one of the steamiest books that I have ever read. The chemistry these two have for one another is electric. This bully-enemies-to-love book was AMAZING! Ivy finds herself living with her bully from high school, Brix. Not by choice, because her mother married Brie’s father. Now back for the summer from college, she is not too happy to be under the same roof as him, but things slowly seem to be changing. She can’t help but constantly feel drawn to him. Brick is the jerk you love to hate. When I say this book is hot, I mean it! It is an amazing and awesome MUST read!
I absolutely loved this book!! Brix is one of those bad boy characters that you will not forget and will just want more of. Fantastic characters that I can not wait for more of.
Enemies to lovers is by far my favorite romance troupe. The angst and banter get me every time. Brix hit those marks without even trying but it also delivered much more. I was expecting the hot steamy scenes (which I got in spades and boy were they hot!!), I was expecting the banter and sass (I love when the female can give as much as she’s given.). What I wasn’t prepared for was to get so attached to Brix and Ivy. I wasn’t prepared to end up crying and yelling at them but then again, who loves an easy happily ever after?? This was my first read by Brooke O’ Brien but it’s definitely not going to be my last.
Brix is a sexy, sexy jerkface with a big ol’ heart hiding in there somewhere. This book was so good. Once I started, I didn’t want to put it down.
Enemies to lovers…check.
Dirty talker…check.
Arrogant, tattooed, singer in a rock band… check, check, & check!
If you know me, you know these are some of my favorite things.
Brix wasn’t nice to Ivy in high school. At all. He was rude, arrogant, and she did everything she could to avoid him.
So when she comes home from college and runs into him while out with her friend, imagine her satisfaction when he didn’t even recognize her and tried to schmooze her and get her to go home with him.
She turned him down – hard. Put him in his place. No one turns down Brix, so he immediately starts with his asshole behavior…again.
Then imagine both their surprise when they find out that HER mom married HIS dad.
So that’s all fine and dandy, but then they start being civil to one another. Then the sparks start to sizzle a bit. Then it’s just unavoidable, their chemistry is too strong and they can’t stay away from each other. These two together were HOT.
This story is full of heart and passion, betrayal and pain, love and regret. The author did a great job of redeeming Brix and making me fall hard for him. He’s actually quite the romantic.
I look forward to the next book in the series!
This was my first book by Brooke O’Brien, but it will not be my last! She really surprised me with this. The story was so well written that I was captured for the entire ride. It made me angry, it made me laugh, it set me on fire. What more could a girl want in a story!
Brix well let’s just say he’s everything you aren’t supposed to want!
Ivy is strong in her convictions and no pushover.
Watching them grow and fall together was special.
It’s definitely worth the read, but hold on for the ride.

Brix by Brooke O’Brien is the first in the A Rebel’s Havoc series and what way to kick off a series. Not knowing anything about what this story is about and jumping in because why not. Ms. O’Brien takes us on a rockstar roller coaster ride throughout this book. It is high energy, fast-paced, steamy, intense and so much more.
I know stepsibling stories are not for everyone, but this out is well worth it. Throw in some bullying type behavior and we got drama, drama, drama for days.
This:
Now, no matter what I do, there’s no escaping him. He’s always there, tempting me, provoking me. Every moment of every day. The more we’re around each other, the more the heat between us begins to rise.
Is just the tip of the iceberg for this story. These two have a history, a not so great history and when Ivy has to return home for the summer, her world is about to flip upside down. First night out and being back in town, people don’t recognize right away and when Brix tries to pick her up and is denied, well let’s just say that is when the sparks start to fly and the chemistry starts jumping off the pages. From then on out we are taken on a wild ride because of the next morning when they wake up in the same house because their parents just eloped. what could go wrong? Lies, bets, feelings, a game and so much can happen.
Wonderfully written that this story grabs and you can breeze right through the pages. I can’t wait to see who’s up next in the Rebel’s Havoc series.
This book was good. Not the best, but I enjoyed it. I wouldnt really classify it as a bully romance. Or even taboo. They didn’t grow up as step brother and sister. It’s not til years later that their parents marry. The bullying done by Brix was when they were younger, and pretty much done in flash backs. He is definitely an Alphahole. She is a quiet but fiery girl and they both try to resist the attraction they feel for one another. It was sexy and I definitely swooned over Brix. Overall, the story was pretty good, and I would definitely recommend it.
I loved this authors Tattered Hearts series and couldn’t wait to read Brix! It did not disappoint! I love taboos reads and this one was super hot!
If you love enemies-to-lovers or bully books, I definitely recommend this one! Step siblings books can go one way or another for me. This one was a winner! So much chemistry, banter and steam!
Brix is the first book in this interconnected, stand alone romance in the series. This is also my first reading from the author.
So, as the blurb suggests this is a bully romance, rockstar, stepbrother/ taboo kind of story. I agree to some extent about the bully factor. At this time, I think I’ve read enough bully romances (it’s all I’m reading pretty much nowadays) to know that this one categorizes in the lighter level to minimal one and focuses more on the stepbrother/taboo element. The drama, in my opinion, could have been prevented. Nevertheless, it was a pretty good read with really sexy, steamy scenes.
I have to admit that it took me little while to get into this book, I had to take the time to get to know the characters and to really like them. Maybe you won’t believe me when I tell that you will like Brix, but believe me you will!
Brix is really your typical jerk, he naturally thinks he’s perfect and every girl will want him. Is he a very innovative character? No not but in romance you often have characters that look alike. What I find important is that the character fits into the story and that is certainly true.
I soon liked Ivy, she’s a bit rebellious and doesn’t let anyone tell her what to do and in a romance book that’s what I’m looking for in a female character.
The chemistry between Brix and Ivy is really clear from the first meeting, the arguing back and forth in combination with that tension is what makes this book so good. Of course there is also a background story in this book, especially for Brix and I think that is also important. You learn to understand this and to appreciate it, you actually need it a bit.
I am very curious if the characters around them will also receive a book because I am very curious about them even though you do not see them very often in this book. The moments that they are there, they are really there and you really have the feeling that they are an important part of the story.
All in all a wonderful love story. It is a book that touches you but also makes you happy and that is exactly the mix that I love ..
Loved the back and forth! I like how Ivy was not afraid to push back and give Brix a piece of her mind
I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we all need a Brix in our lives! Holy wowza that guy is something else! He definitely made my list of favorite books boyfriends!
I loved this story. You’ve got a stepbrother romance merged with a rockstar romance as well as a previous bully romance. So SO good! I love Brix and Ivy’s connection, they go so well together.
This book was definitely a quick read for me and I kept picking it up any chance I got. I can’t wait to read more by this author!

I loved this book so much. Brix was the perfect mix of asshole alpha and injured heart. Ivy was the heroine I strive to be. She looked past flaws and faults and found a way to love Brix while teaching him to love himself. Their story unwinds beautifully and I can’t wait for more!
Brix was my first stepbrother romance and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed at all. Can you imagine coming home for the summer and finding out your mother married your enemy’s father? I know I can’t and that’s where everything got interesting. Brix is a fast and fun read and everything I needed in a romance.
Ivy is one of our feisty main characters and I loved her from the start. She’s determined to get her way through college and won’t take handouts from anyone. All she wants is to spend the summer with her mother and save money for her last year of school. Ivy is independent and hands on, not even being home a day she’s ready to find a job and get her summer going. I could definitely be friends with a person like her!
Brix is quite a handful. He’s cocky and does as he pleases. Taking home a girl to sleep with her and never see her again is nothing new for him. Brix is a tough guy and may be a tad too arrogant, but there’s definitely a reason why he ended up this way. There is a lot of baggage from his childhood and some things are easier to get over than others. He had me laughing out loud and wanting to give him a huge hug when we learn more about him. This was definitely more Brix’s story, but that fit the book so well. I loved seeing him change in this book and opening up with Ivy.
It’s definitely not love at first sight with these two. It’s clear there’s an attraction, but Ivy hasn’t forgiven Brix for how he treated her in high school. Even though it’s been awhile, that’s definitely still an issue. I really appreciated getting a glimpse of what happened, but it didn’t take over this story! The attraction and frustration between these two jumped off the pages. I can also say the same about the forbidden aspect with them being stepsiblings. It was there, but there wasn’t too much drama or issues with it. Brix and Ivy had enough going on as it was!
Yeah, the romance between these two may seem to get quickly, but that didn’t bother me. I feel it fit these two characters and their stituation! They had moments with me laughing out loud, tension you could cut with a knife and some steamy scenes that will definitely having you need to cool yourself off. I loved all of that, but I loved them getting to know each other. Brix really opens himself up to her and it was a great side to see. If it was up to me, I’d have the next book in my hands right now!
I absolutely devoured this book !!!!
Rockstars is one of my favourite tropes and boy does brooke give us a book to remember..
Brix is everything you want and everything you didn’t know you needed a wonderful package of sin , sex and music he is what fantasies are made of.
A story for of steam and soooooo much angst your nearly falling off your seat.
Fantastic read with brilliant characters and strong story cannot wait for more from a rebels havoc boys….
wow, Brooke O’Brien kicks of A Rebels Havoc series with a fantastic enemies-to-lovers, bully romance. While the ‘bully’ side of this one was a little on the light side…the steam of a taboo relationship between step-siblings was in full effect. Ivy and Brix have been enemies for a long time, only when she returns from college to find her mother married to his father? Well, all bets are off and the chemistry between them is off the charts. The story is super sexy and entertaining. A fast read that I finished in one sitting with a straight forward plot and only a little OW drama. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve read Brooke before, but this one is my favorite story she’s written. Brix band, A Rebels Havoc, is still playing locally in the Carolina’s but it’s got the vibe of a budding rockstar romance. We’ll see when the author continues the series with Madden and Tysin’s books—books that I sincerely hope follow Brix in short order because these secondary characters have me jonesing for more A Rebels Havoc.
4.5 Stars
3.5 stars – more bully romance than stepbrother romance.
So technically Ivy & Brix are step-siblings, but when it happens when you are both adults – it doesn’t seem as taboo.
Brix was hard to like and I thought Ivy gave in a little too quickly both in the beginning and then when forgiving him. You knew a certain situation was going to come back and haunt Brix.
It was a decent read, but I was hoping for more likeable characters.
“I think there’s a good person hidden underneath this a**h*** exterior you show to the world. I wish you’d show more of him because I kind of like him.” I wished the same thing too.
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
