There’s a fine line between love and hate, and it’s about to be set on fire.Brix Ward is a Grade A prick. He’s arrogant, spoiled, and self-centered. As the lead singer of A Rebels Havoc, he’s used to women falling over themselves for a chance to tame the wild bad boy.Except for me.I still remember the boy I grew up with. The one who went out of his way to make my life a living hell. I did my best … way to make my life a living hell. I did my best to avoid him at all costs.
Imagine my surprise when our parents announced they had eloped, then left me to live with my new stepbrother. Alone.
Now, no matter what I do, there’s no escaping him. He’s always there, tempting me, provoking me. Every moment of every day. The more we’re around each other, the more the heat between us begins to rise.
If he thinks he can hurt me again, he’s dead wrong.
I won’t let him be the one to destroy me, even if it breaks my heart.
Author’s Note: This is Book One in the A Rebels Havoc series. It can be read as a standalone and has a HEA. Due to strong sexual content, coarse language and mature subject matter, this book is not suitable for under the age of 18.

Ivy and Brix take you from emotional twist to the next. This book has it all and than some. High school bully, a little Taboo and a whole lot of love and hate. As you read this story you find yourself pulled in and keep you there and wanting more. Amazing read that gave me all types of feels and emotions that you will laugh and cry. Can’t wait to read the next
I loved Ivy and Brix. They had an enemies to lovers/step-sibling relationship and I was all in when I saw that. Loved these characters so much. They had such a great chemistry that you could feel it coming off the screen. It was so hot and intense even though they tried to fight it and when they finally give in, boom, explosive. I highly recommend this story to everyone. You won’t regret it.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
What happens when you are home for the summer break from college and you find out your mom married your high school bully’s dad, everything lol. Ivy and Brix were the perfect enemies and I loved how strong she had become, no matter what she wasn’t going to bow at Brixs feet like everyone else did. But after all was said and done you can’t help but adore Brix. This was my first book by this author but certainly won’t be my last
Brix was a very enjoyable read, I was hooked as soon as I read the synopsis. A rocker-stepbrother-bully romance, I couldn’t pick this one up fast enough!
Ivy returned home from college just for the summer and she was determined not to fall under Brix’s spell, the heat between them was insane but Brix was always a jerk to her when they were in high school and as a result she just wanted to stay away from him. Yet, Ivy suddenly realized her mom married Brix’s father, which meant they were now step siblings and she was going to stay in Brix’s house for the whole summer.
Brix was a sexy brooding rock singer that hit on Ivy even before he recognized her, he couldn’t believe Ivy was back and how much he wanted her. Even after he discovered he was her new stepbrother, everything he craved was her although Ivy was fighting him every chance she got. Brix wasn’t going to let Ivy get away and it definitely helped that they were living under the same roof for the summer.
The push and pull between this two was great, it was steamy, heated, entertaining and there were sparks flying everywhere. I liked how their story progressed, how Brix opened up to Ivy and how their hate/love relationship was developed. I really enjoyed Brix and Ivy’s romance but I wish there was a little bit more of grovel because Ivy’s forgiveness was a little quicker than I would like. Also, I would have loved if we had more scenes from their past. Overall, it was a great start to this series, with a LOT of chemistry and heat, I definitely want more from A Rebels Havoc.
Holy. Mother-effing. Wow. I loved this book. LOVED IT. The writing was excellent, and Brix and Ivy were such a complicated pairing; their push and pull is full of all the angsty drama and goodness that I love in this type of book. Brix is amazing, y’all. He’s such a jerk and more than a few times you want to slap the smirk off his face and ask him what the eff he thinks he’s doing. BUT. There are so many sides to him that reading further into the story it’s like peeling away the layers of an onion little by little until you’re left with the real, true Brix in all his wonderful, sexy glory. Well done, Brooke! And Ivy was wonderful! Super strong and smart and willing to take some emotional chances that may or may not break her to pieces; you gotta love her. The chemistry between the two is off the charts. I loved every minute of this story, from the first word to the very last.
And trust me when I say that you want to grab that extra bonus epilogue mentioned at the end and give that a read through as well. 😉

This is the first book in the A Rebels Havoc series and the first book I have read by the author told in dual POV. Brix was that guy that Ivy was crushing on in high school but they never got along. Fast forward a few years and Ivy returns home during a break from college and runs into Brix while out meeting her best friend at a bar where his band, A Rebels Havoc, is playing. As the lead singer, Brix is accustomed to having women fall at his feet but not Ivy. As she blows him off, she returns to the house where her mother is living with her new husband only to get the shock of her life the next morning. True to form, Ivy is the kind of woman who will not take crap from a man, especially Brix. Brix is learning what it means to be a mensch (a decent, upright, mature and responsible person.) What follows is a well written storyline that begs the question of whether or not Brix and Ivy can put the past behind them and get their happily ever after. I volunteered to read an advanced copy of this book.
I could not get enough!!!!!
This is the first book I’ve ever read by Brooke and I’ll tell you what…. she did the damn thing! Brix and Ivy were absolute perfection. I wasn’t sure after starting it how I was going to feel but after continuing to read I could not put it down! gave me all the feels and had one hell of an HEA!!! You are definitely going to want to read this! Can’t wait for it to release so I can add it to my paperback collection!!! That cover is everythannngggg!!!!!
This one was an interesting mash-up of tropes – stepbrother, bully, second-chance, Rockstar – it’s all here. It works pretty well for me overall and Brix and Ivy are a great pair. I can’t wait to see where she goes with the rest of the band!
Wow what a story. I absolutely devoured this. I felt invested in the characters lives throughout this story, it was so engaging and addictive I just couldn’t get enough. I enjoyed the storyline itself and reading about these characters. I would have loved to read more about these characters but the story didn’t lack anything. I was desperate for more and couldn’t read fast enough. Absolutely incredible.
The perfect book for a Saturday afternoon read that allows you to escape reality for a couple of hours. I loved seeing the tension build between this couple, but things happened sooner than I expected as I really thought Ivy would make Brix work harder for what they both wanted. I liked that I got this surprise and knowing it then meant I got to see more of ‘after’ once they gave into their feelings. This is the first book I’ve read by Brooke O’Brien and the blurb had me hooked as I love a good step brother romance, but have recently struggled to find one that held my interest. This one sounded right up my street and it was a pleasure to just lose myself in a story without there being a complicated storyline or lots of drama. I’ve come away feeling relaxed with a warm feeling inside. This is a definite recommended read!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book
4.5 Stars!!
I’ve been meaning to pick up Ms.O’Brien’s work for the longest time and I’m so happy that I finally got the chance to with Brix! This story absolutely hooked me from beginning to end. It was so addictive and oh how I loved it!
Brix and Ivy’s journey is quite the unique one! From the frustrating moments to the ones that were every bit blushworthy I couldn’t get enough of these two! I loved being able to dig deeper with these characters and how I fell so hard for them.
With Brix, Ms.O’Brien has created a read that will make you feel all the things under the sun! She’s definitely got a new fan in me! Just like hitting the repeat button while listening to a favorite song, I’m going to reread this in the future. I am so dang excited for the next A Rebels Havoc book!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
Brix and Ivy have known each other for a long time. When she comes back home Brix doesn’t recognize her right away. Ivy and him have never gotten along but neither can ignore the attraction. Will they act on it?

What a fantastic read I could not get enough!!
Brix is the guy you love to hate.
Arrogant, hot and when he’s not being an arse, very very charming!
Ivy and his chemistry is undeniable as much as they try to resist whenever they’re around each other the sparks fly.
The storyline was interesting their love/hate relationship was so fiery at the start it kept the book highly entertaining, I totally devoured this book in one sitting as I couldn’t put it down.
I totally recommend this author and this series I can’t wait to read what happens next, looking forward to more stories!

BE.STILL.MY.HEART!! ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!
Just WOW!!! First of all I’m in love with this name “Brix”! This was an angsty, gritty, sexy, fierce, cruel and beautiful love story between Brix and Ivy.
What starts out as a bully/tormentor meets former school victim, turns into a very heated affair between these two. With Brix’s former bullying of Ivy in high school and them having to reunite under extremely shocking events, the start of this story is very heated on the “pissed off” scale. As this slow-burn is going on between them due to a startling sexual chemistry it definitely builds the suspense and intensity when Brix and Ivy eventually come crashing together. Granted they have so much alone time with no one else being around they definitely have time to “explore” what is going on between the two of them. And after Brix realizes his true feelings, a secret he holds could very well end their relationship. But don’t fear, with some page turning awesomeness you will definitely get a fantastic HEA with this book!! Brooke O’Brien has a definite forever fan in her corner!

Brix is absolutely everything and then some!! Really enjoyed and loved! Very well written and is quite fast paced!
“It’s crazy how life always seems to bring you back full circle.”
Can not wait for the next book in the series.
I highly highly recommend!!
Oh my Gosh
I Loved,Loved,Loved this book sexy, sweet, Romantic and completely enthralling.
Now Step brother reads are not usually my thing I find them a bit uncomfortable, It was the Rockstar element that attracted me initially, but I am so glad I gave this book a chance. It excelled beyond anything that I could have imagined, and Brix being a Rockstar well I was in heaven the typical badboy with a softer side that no one sees.I did find myself falling for him even though he bullied Ivy growing up,he redeemed himself and I loved seeing his character evolve.
Ivy was a good person and I liked her she was very forgiving and worked hard..they were both actually perfect for one another..Its a pity they had a big obstacle in the way of their feelings for one another.
This is one of those stories you struggle to put down because there is so much to love and be fascinated by.Brix and Ivy are both Amazing and I enjoyed them and their love/hate relationship, they were a pleasure to read and I could not get enough.
A fantastic forbidden 5 star Taboo Romance that I highly recommend.
4.5 stars – fab enemies-to-lovers read! Lotsa sexy tension!
“Yeah, the hate-sex is gonna be real f*ckin’ good for the both of us.”
Ivy Thomas has no choice but to go home for the summer, while she saves enough money to finance her final year at college. When her old nemesis doesn’t recognise her and makes a pass at her, she gleefully puts him in his place. However, the shocking reality is that they are suddenly related when her mother marries his father, and she finds herself living, mostly alone, with Brix Ward.
“The urge to reach out and touch her consumes me.”
Living at close quarters with the girl he used to bully drives Brix to distraction. He wants her like no other, even though he knows that he doesn’t deserve her. There’s no denying that she’s just as attracted to him, even if she doesn’t want to be, and he’s determined to make her give in to it.
“I wanted to ravage her, own her, make her mine.”
Ooh, this was a really good read. Both Ivy and Brix were strong charactes and there’s a lot of hate-fuelled lust brimming between them. Ivy is determined not to give in because of their past, as well as their present, but the close proximity between them makes it hard to ignore the desire they have for one another. Brix is a pretty troubled and angry guy, but I loved how much he wanted to open up to Ivy. I loved that he didn’t care what people thought of them being together but also his determination to prove to Ivy that he really cared about her. Thoroughly enjoyed this story!
Brooke has outdone herself with Brix. I’ve loved all her books to date but Brix takes it to another level. It’s very well written and I love the characters. The chemistry between Brix and Ivy is so hot. While Brix starts off as a self-centered ass, he becomes someone to love. And Ivy is lovable throughout. Bring them together and damn.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Brix! I love enemies to lovers and Brooke nailed it with this Brix and Ivy! Brix comes across as a jerk but has a big heart underneath. Ivy can’t stand Brix after he spent High School picking on her but she’s stronger and doesn’t put up with his bs. Throw them together in the same house after his dad and her mom get married, and you have a recipe for lots of sexual tension and bad decisions. So delicious! It’s a quick read with awesome characters! I can’t wait for more A Rebels Havoc!
Ivy is home to stay for the summer with her mom. What she doesn’t know is she will meet her stepfather and stepbrother as her mom got married on vacation. The stepbrother just happens to be Brix, Ivy’s bully from high school. Brix is hot but an arrogant guy. He tormented Ivy in school. Sparks fly when the two find out their parents are married. There is so much more to this couple than what you see as the story unfolds. A stunningly good read.
