There’s a fine line between love and hate, and it’s about to be set on fire.Brix Ward is a Grade A prick. He’s arrogant, spoiled, and self-centered. As the lead singer of A Rebels Havoc, he’s used to women falling over themselves for a chance to tame the wild bad boy.Except for me.I still remember the boy I grew up with. The one who went out of his way to make my life a living hell. I did my best … way to make my life a living hell. I did my best to avoid him at all costs.
Imagine my surprise when our parents announced they had eloped, then left me to live with my new stepbrother. Alone.
Now, no matter what I do, there’s no escaping him. He’s always there, tempting me, provoking me. Every moment of every day. The more we’re around each other, the more the heat between us begins to rise.
If he thinks he can hurt me again, he’s dead wrong.
I won’t let him be the one to destroy me, even if it breaks my heart.
Author’s Note: This is Book One in the A Rebels Havoc series. It can be read as a standalone and has a HEA. Due to strong sexual content, coarse language and mature subject matter, this book is not suitable for under the age of 18.

Reading this book was a no brainer because of the author. So much so that I was unaware it was not only a step sis/bro relationship but a rock star to boot, I was doomed. Well I should have known better than to doubt her because as usual this author did the da$n thang. Brix is everything you would hate and proud of it. No one, well no woman says no, his charm and charisma along with his stage presence insure it. He has no reason to change or even consider not to be a jerk, it’s who he is. Well who he was after he finally admits his feisty, hot and sassy step sister he terrorized in school is the woman for him. Their turmoil over their ties and what it would mean for everyone or be perceived made it a hard decision with deep consequences. Who they become together is what wins out but is it enough.
This author does this in her sleep. Her characters bring out the best in each other but the battle grounds she makes them traverse makes this read hot as all get out with their chemistry. It’s a wild ride that will stretch them to the max while taking your emotions with them.
So I’m really picking on these step brother books, I mean they have been done a certain way before I will even consider reading them. This one falls into ones I will read. Brix and Ivy knew each other before hand and knowing Brix’s dad history with marriage, you knew it was destined to fail. Brix has a reputation around town. He loves and leaves them. He’s the asshole and knows it. But there’s more to him then that. We get to see another side of him in this book. He learns the error of his high school ways and wants to prove to Ivy he isn’t that person anymore. Ivy is only home for the summer and wants to spend time with her mom. What happens this summer, she didn’t plan. She still had a strong dislike to Brix but he melted her heart. Brix comes off as this jerky guy who can get any girl he wants and it works since he’s in a band but he’s more then that. My heart broke for him during certain parts. Him and Ivy have to move past the hate in order to see each other in a different life. While things go well for them, there’s always that moment when past words come back to haunt them and a big grand gesture is needed. I liked both characters and the banter between them at the beginning. As a couple, they know they have the heat in the bedroom but it’s more then that with them. There’s a love growing with them as well. I really liked this book and the characters with them.
Brix is a surprising explosive love story. An enemies to lovers/step-sibling story that find out they have to share the same roof one summer when their parents suddenly elope.
Brix isn’t the worst guy around, he’s just had a messed up upbringing. An absentee father who goes through wives and Ivy’s mother is his current flavor of the year. When Ivy returns home for the summer she was just expecting to stay with her mother, earn some money for school, and keep things low key. She didn’t expect to room with the one person who made her life hell back in high school or her mother to spend most of the summer vacationing with her new husband leaving her alone with the bane of her existence.
When Brix doesn’t recognize Ivy when she rolls back into town, he makes a bet with this friends that not only will she end up in his bed before summer ends, but she will leave town with a broken heart as well. Brix never thought that with all the time they spend alone together that they might actually grow close and the person who might get their heart broken when she leaves might be him.
The relationship between Ivy and Brix is hot and emotional. They don’t realize how close they are growing to each other as the summer progresses, but can it really go anywhere when they began as enemies? Brix knows he needs to eventually come clean about everything, but will time run out before the truth catches up to him?
Overall Brix is a good story and a good starting point for more books in this band.
I was hooked on Brix by the end of the first chapter. Like a drug, I couldn’t put this book down. I needed my fix. With each page I fell more and more in love with this story.
Brix was everything a bad boy should be and then some! Dark, sexy, and cocky at times.
Brooke’s writing is incredible and this story has it all, from sex to heartbreak to love. It’s the whole package!
What a storyline. I loved this one. When you first start reading it you don’t think it is going to go in the direction that it goes. But wow. This was a unique storyline because of the love / hate relationship that Brix and Ivy have with each other. Brix hated her in high school and she had a huge crush on him. But it didn’t matter.
When Ivy comes back to town Brix doesn’t even realize who is. But he doesn’t take one second to hit on her. She quickly knocks him down and makes sure he knows who she is. The next morning they end up at the same house. Why because her mother married his father. But will these two be able to get along for the summer? Will they realize what is between them and work past the hate? What is going to happen between these two? Hold on because things do get quite interesting. A very fast paced interesting gripping storyline with two amazing characters. Brooke did a great job with this storyline and characters. I loved it and would love to read more from her.
This book I seriously cannot say enough good stuff about it!! You literally can feel the tension, struggle and pull between these two! Brix and Ivy like to test each others buttons and the real question was how far were they willing to go?! Ivy was strong to refuse her true feelings, and Brix made it seem like he was just there for the sex. The twists and turns in this book kept me on edge and sucked me in right from the start. I literally couldn’t set it down from the start. I fell in love with Brix’s @$$hole self and how he really challenged Ivy. Ivy definitely gave Brix a run for his money right back and proved that she wasn’t going to let him just walk all over him. I highly recommend reading this book and I personally CANNOT WAIT for the next book in this series to come out!!

Brix Ward has always been a Grade A jerk to her, he made Ivy’s time in high school miserable, always teasing her and bullying her at every turn. As soon as she was able, she packed her bags and headed to college, never looking back. Finally feeling as though she could finally put her troubles with Brix behind her.
This summer though she has decided to move home, so she can work to save up money for her last year at college. Knowing she may run into Brix while she is there has her a little on edge, but she is hoping she can keep their interactions to a minimum. But that hope is short lived when she walks into the home she will be staying in for the summer and meets her new roommate…
This all-consuming tale brings you into the lives of two young people who are bound together by a painful past. One that neither of them are looking forward to reliving when they are reunited for the summer. Brix carries a lot guilt for the way he treated Ivy in the past, so being near her again brings that guilt to a head, as well as his attraction to her. He knows he needs to make amends, but she wants absolutely nothing to do with him, and that hurts more than he cares to admit. The push and pull between these two will have you dying in anticipation, they have a very evident intense attraction for one another, but the past and doubts of sincerity keep them apart. This scorching little page-turner did not disappoint, it’s perfectly penned words kept me mesmerized from the first page until the last. Definitely one of my favorites from Ms. O’Brien to date, I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us in the second installment! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Brix is the first book I have read by Brooke O’Brien and it won’t be my last. I really enjoyed this book.
This book was a mix of two of the tropes I love to read about. It’s a rockstar romance with a taboo subject of step-siblings. I felt that each trope we properly covered. There was just enough rockstar material for those who love that type of story but then the taboo topic was touch on perfectly.
Brie is the first book in Brooke’s A Rebel’s Havoc series. This series is a group of standalone novels based off the members of A Rebel Havoc band. This is a complete standalone novel and is told in Dual POV. I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well. This is a fairly quick read, but nothing was rushed so you don’t feel like you missed something.
In this book we follow Brix and Ivy’s story. Brix is the lead singer in the music group A Rebel’s Havoc. He is cocky and arrogant but he also has a sweet side to him. Ivy is a college student who is on summer break and has come home to live with her mom and her new husband. Brix and Ivy have history from years ago. Brix was a bully and very mean to Ivy back in high school, so when Ivy finds out that her mom has married Brix’s dad, she is sooooo not excited!!! Both determined to avoid each other, a story of two people who shouldn’t be together begins. Can Ivy and Brix get passed their past?? Will they open up to each other?? How will their parents feel?? Can they get their HEA?? Read this book to find out.
I wasn’t sure how I felt about Brix in the beginning of this story. He was tough to love, but as the story went on and he started to reveal things about himself, I fell in love with him. I thought he had a lot of growth throughout this story. I loved Ivy’s character. She didn’t take any crap from Brix this time. She gave as good as she got.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a rockstar romance or has a touch of a taboo subject. This was one of my favorite step-siblings story. I look forward to reading more books by Brooke.
SO ADDICTIVE!!
I have finished reading this book and I am sad because I didn’t want it to end. I just want to read it all over again. This is the first book I have read by Brooke O’Brien and I can tell you, it wont be my last. Cant wait to see what Brooke writes next!
Brix is book one in the series. I loved it. Brix was a bad boy rocker. Ivy was sweet. The sexual tension was hot and the sexy scenes were scorching! Brix and Ivy were just perfect for each other! I loved loved them together! I am hoping for more!!
I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!! Enemies-to-Lovers Bully Romance is one of my favorite tropes. I loved the drama and the sexual tension that comes with it and this Book had plenty of both! This Story Shows How Everyone Has A Story, Good and Bad! I Fell In Hate and Love with Brix Loved how these two changed throughout the story right up to the end. Their relationship is messy, somewhat taboo but neither care what anyone thinks!! They are perfect for each other! Ivy and Brix Will Break You In All The Best Ways!! Leaving You Begging For More!! I can’t wait for more of this Series and to see the secondary characters grow, plus I am excited for more Brix and Ivy! Definitely Your Next 5 Read..
“I don’t deserve your forgiveness, but like the a**hole I am, I’m going to take it. I’m going to take you and hold onto you. I don’t want to let you go.”
Brix is a stepbrother, rockstar, bully romance that is told in the first-person point of view of Brix and Ivy.
Brix is arrogant, cocky, and the lead singer for the band A Rebel’s Havoc. He is extremely popular with the ladies. He has always had it out for Ivy since they were in high school. When he finds out that she is now living in the same house as him and to his surprise his new stepsister, he tries to pick up where he left off in high school but something is different about Ivy now and she has become too hard to resist.
Ivy is home for the summer and gets the shock of her life when she finds out that her mother has married the father of her worst enemy from high school. Determined not to let him get to her again, she tries to avoid him but that becomes too hard until she learns the secret he’s been keeping.
My Thoughts …
Bully romances have become one of my go-to’s lately and this book did not disappoint. Brix and Ivy had some serious tension between them until they finally gave in to their urges. I enjoyed the supporting characters and am looking forward to more from the Rebel’s Havoc crew. Michael Gallagher and Stefanie Kay did a good job of giving the characters and the story a voice.
Ivy comes home from college and gets the surprise of her life. Her mom remarried and her new step brother is none other than the high school bully, Brix. This book just keeps getting better and better. Looking forward to more books by this author and the narration was awesome. #AudiobookObsessionsReviewer
Brix was Ivy’s nemesis while in school.
When Ivy returned home from college, the worst thing that could happen to her, was her mother married Brix father. Now he became her stepbrother. Brix is bully, arrogant jerk, and a rockstar .
She was going to be there all summer before going back to college in the fall. There’s no way she could avoid him now, living together under one roof.
Ivy tried to pull away from him, but their attraction to each other was hot, electric and steamy..
Michael Gallagher and Stephanie Kay narration is very good I enjoyed listening to this story.

Brix
A Stepbrother Bully Romance (A Rebels Havoc, Book 1)
By: Brooke O’Brien
Narrated by: Michael Gallagher, Stefanie Kay
Brooke O’Brien has a way with words. This is not the typical bully, stepbrother romance, She has taken it up a notch. Ivy is home from college for the summer and is living with her mom. Brix, now her stepbrother is home too, their newlywed parents away together. What a nightmare for Ivy, right? Brix has been the target of his brutality for most of her life and now she has to live with him? But things are never what they seem, and the chemistry between these two is undeniable. Will Ivy see through Brix’s exterior to the man her really is? I enjoyed this story so much. I was ready for the typical steamy stepbrother dialogue, but these two characters are so much more than just attracted to each other. O’Brien has given them so much depth, it gave the story a very real dimension. It’s a steamy listen with a twist. I definitely will be looking out for other audios by her.
Michael Gallagher and Stefanie Kay voice our characters and they are perfectly cast for new adult romance. Each has a quality that makes the character their own and fine tunes into their personalities. I enjoy both of their voices and know when I see their names, I am in for a treat.

Brix is a stepbrother/enemies to lovers romance. Brix was horrible to Ivy in high school, tormenting her and making her life miserable. Now she has returned home from college for the summer to find her mother is married and Brix is now her stepbrother. Although things start off a bit hostile, it doesn’t take long before lines are crossed.
Brix and Ivy had some serious chemistry. I listened to the audiobook of this story and it was hot, hot hot! This was my first book by this author and I was pleasantly surprised and I cannot wait to continue the series with the rest of the members of A Rebels Havoc!
Brix by Brooke O’Brien is a stepbrother bully romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Michael Gallagher and Stefanie Kay. This is the first book in A Rebels Havoc series and can be read as a standalone.
The book comes with a warning/caution “Due to strong sexual content, coarse language and mature subject matter, this book is not suitable for under the age of 18.”
This is the first book of Brooke’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I loved the chemistry between Brix and Ivy. Their relationship was a bit of roller coaster but you couldn’t help but root for them.
Michael and Stefanie did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you love stepbrother romances, bully romances, or enemies to lovers romances.

This was my first Brooke O’Brien’s book, and won’t be my last. This is the first book in the Rebels Havoc Series, a Stepbrother / Rock Star / Bully Romance. Ivy and Brix’s story is well written, emotional, and steamy, filled with angst, and twists and turns. The characters are well developed, and intriguing. I liked the Epilogues, and the beautiful HEA. Stefanie Kay and Michael Gallagher did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to Tysin, the next book in the Series. #PinkFlamingoProductions #AudiobookObsession #ALC #ComingSoon #BullyRomance #StepbrotherRomance #RockStarRomance #ForbiddenRomance
A Fabulously Enthralling Story & Listen
BRIX: A Stepbrother Bully Romance
A Rebels Havoc Book 1
By: Brook O’Brien
Narrated by: Stefanie Kay & Michael Gallagher
Wow, this book is awesome, I am a huge fan of rock star romance novels, the cockier the rockstar the better and Brix does not disappoint one bit. This is my first book by Brook O’Brien, I enjoyed her writing style, she created an interesting and original story. It drew me right in and captivated my attention the entire time. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Ivy, is on summer break from college, she moved back home to save money for her last year in school. Her mother is in a new relationship, actually winds up marrying the guy so Ivy will be staying at her new home, his home. Ivy is out with friends and is not happy to find out “Rebels Havoc” is playing, she is hoping to not run into Brix the lead singer. The boy who bullied her since night grade. She has no such luck, she not only runs into him but he does not even recognize her and he hits on her. She sets him straight but even still he does not take rejection kindly and he vows to break her. Then to make matters worse it turns out her mother married Brix’s father and Brix is now her stepbrother. She tries to not allow Brix to get under her skin, she gives as good as she gets and the chemistry between them is combustible so the back and forth banter is kind of like foreplay at times. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is greatly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, emotional and heartfelt and some sizzling hot romance. Book O’Brien, thank you for this awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride I am looking forward to checking out more of your work, I hope to hear more of it on audio soon.
Stefanie Kay and Michael Gallagher are wonderfully talented narrators and voice artists. They bring these character to life giving each their own distinct voice making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. They had a complete understanding of the characters they played, taking each role and making it their own sounding believable and just as I pictured the character to sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured the characters emotions and projected them into their performance. Stefanie Kay play Ivy’s role with perfection, she held her own, Michael Gallagher did the same for Brix, playing a perfect cocky rockstar with an alphatude. They were great playing the secondary characters as well. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the awesome listen!

This is the first book I’ve ever read by Brooke and it gave me all the feels!! Brix and Ivy had the most scorching chemistry and it burned like a blazing inferno! I didn’t want to put this book down, but I also didn’t want it to end! I loved the bonus epilogue as well. Brix has got to be one of my favorite book boyfriends ever. He was a cocky, arrogant alphahole, but there was also a sweet side to him very few ever saw. Ivy was a fiesty little fighter who refused to let anyone treat her badly ever again. You have to read this and find out what happened!!!!!
