Two single parents and three adorable kids are about to have a summer they’ll never forget in this sexy, heartwarming new novel of the New York Times bestselling series. Following the sudden death of his wife, Nathan Bell spent nearly two years burying himself in work and neglecting his biggest responsibility: his daughter. Overcome with guilt, he wants to connect with little Marley, but he … Marley, but he doesn’t know how to do it alone. And then Jenna Savage throws him a lifeline.
A single mom of twins, Jenna is more than capable of taking care of Nathan’s adorable two-year-old and wants to help Nathan however she can. As the days go by and her attraction to Nathan grows, she can’t help wondering what might happen if they became a family for real. And the closer everyone becomes, the more right it feels.
Falling in love forces Nathan to face his biggest fear, and when hearts — both big and little — are on the line, the only thing scarier than needing Jenna and her kids so much is losing them all.

I was so excited to find out that we were getting another book in this series, and that it meant we got to learn about the elusive Nate. And let me tell you, this book was sure worth the wait!
I had no idea that Nate had a little girl. I don’t remember if it was mentioned in previous books (my book memory is terrible sometimes), so I was very keen to find out the whole story of his past. When his little girl Marley is brought back into his life full time, Nate also runs into Jenna, who we know from previous books in the series. She ends up working for him as Marley’s nanny for the summer and this is where we really start to get to know both of these characters.
I loveddddd Jenna and her kids. Olivia and Oliver are the sweetest twins you will ever meet. These two were a huge part of the story for me, and I loved how Jenna has raised them, and then later on how Nate interacted with them. Little Marley is the cutest thing ever as well, and she forms an instant bond with Jenna and the kids.
Among all this, a friendship and possibly more, strikes up between Nate and Jenna, and even the twins are falling for him. Sometimes I wished Nate wouldn’t be so frustrating, but given his past and how he was dealing with it, this was also understandable. Of course, as with every romance novel, things eventually come to a head, and our characters truths come out.
We get plenty of our fave characters from the previous books, acting as secondary characters in this one, and that makes it lots of fun as well. Between the adorable kids, the fantastic main characters, and the world that J Daniels has created in this town, I was unable to put this book down, and fell completely and utterly in love with these guys. There’s so much to love about this story, and I highly recommend. I’d also love to see more of this world in the future!
It’s not often I classify a book as perfect. In fact, it’s really rare. Reading is so subjective and I believe our experience with every book can be greatly determined by what is happening in our lives at that given time. That being said, perhaps if I’d picked this one up a few weeks prior or a few weeks from now, maybe I’d have a different outlook on it.
But honestly, I doubt that. Down Too Deep is just perfect.
I haven’t always had the best of luck with Daniels’ books. The stories were always good but I had a hard time connecting with some of the characters. Another reviewer told me to give this one a try, that it didn’t have the same aspects that hung me up in the past. Damn, she was right.
There is a depth to Down Too Deep that felt head and shoulders above not only the other titles I’ve read from this author but also above so many other contemporary romance titles I’ve been reading these past years.
This is not just a love story. It’s not just a romance between a broken, widowed father and a resilient single mom.
Down Too Deep is a family romance.
Watching Jenna fall in love with Nate’s daughter was sweet. Watching Nate fall in love with Jenna and her children was emotional, adorable, heartbreaking and heartwarming.
While Jenna was an all star in how she handled Nathan’s problems and Nathan was great, the real heroes of this story are Olivia and Oliver. Those kids killed me in the best ways possible and I hope we see them in future titles. I’d LOVE to see them grown up!
Daniels’ created a road map for these characters that was thoughtful, healing and simply, just really beautiful.
Perfect.

I’ve enjoyed all of the books in the Dirty Deeds series, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t waiting on Nate’s book. I think a lot of people have and what we got from J. Daniels was fantastic! This book was full of emotion, humor and heart.
Nathan “Nate” Bell is a restaurant owner and a widowed father of an adorable little two year old named Marley. To say that the past two years since his wife passed away have been a challenge is a gross understatement. Nate has felt everything you possibly could, however guilt was the predominant emotion and it got the best of him to the extent that he barely spent time with his young daughter. He’s now been put in a position where he has to step up and he has no clue what to do. A chance meeting with Jenna at his restaurant might be just the thing he was hoping for.
Jenna is a single mother of eight year old twins, Oliver and Olivia. She is friends with several of the women that work at Nate’s restaurant and her kids love eating there. When Marley escapes from Nate’s office one day when Jenna and the twins are there, she offers to take her back to her father. When she does so, she instantly has a connection with the toddler and when she learns that Nate needs someone to watch her, she offers to be that person.
As Nate and Jenna start to spend more time together, Nate begins to reconnect with his daughter thanks to Jenna’s encouragement and it’s clear that they are attracted to one another. With the baggage that Nate is still carrying from his wife’s death and the fact that Jenna is technically working for him, plus the fact her twins have quickly become attached to Nate, things turn out to be a romantic slow burn to ensure everyone’s feelings are taken into consideration.
I loved both Nate and Jenna. They both had their issues, but more than anything this book was about forgiving yourself and believing that second chances are both possible and worth taking. There is no way I could write this review without talking about all three kids. They were adorable. Marley was just precious and the twins were adorable, precocious and wise beyond their years.
While I’m sad that this series is ending, I’m glad it ended with Nate’s story and one that I loved so much!
I absolutely loved this book, not only because of the couple, but also because of the adorable kids. It was well worth the wait!
Nathan Bell is the owner of Whitecaps restaurant so we have seen him in previous stories. He is a workaholic and has been burying his guilt and grief of his wife’s death in work and alcohol, while also neglecting to connect with his toddler daughter. But when his parents decide it is time for him to take responsibility and get his life back on track. It is a much needed rude awakening. He is angry, lost, confused, and ashamed.
Just as he is drowning, it seems an angel is sent his way. Jenna Savage has been friends with women that work at his restaurant and just happens to be there when needed. She is a single mom of eight-year-old twins, Oliver and Olivia. And her unexpected offer to assist in babysitting his daughter over the summer is a Godsend for him. She is patient, kind, selfless, protective, and seriously saved him from going under.
But he had no idea how much they would also change him. Coming home to a family environment and having Jenna’s guiding hand as he reconnects with his daughter changes his outlook. And he begins to see who he had become and what he really wants out of life. His new nanny is quite a temptation. Her kids are enchanting. His daughter is adorable. And he finds himself wanting more time, more moments, and more with Jenna. But there will be some complications and bumps along the way.
It brings back old friends especially her brother, Brian and his fiance’, Sydney (Four Letter Word), but Tori and Jamie (Hit the Spot), Shay and Stitch (Bad For You), and Kali also pop in. But it can be read as a standalone as well.
This is an engaging, heartfelt, emotional story of friendship, love, and family. I love the single parents trope and they were adorably awkward at times. It is about taking a risk and building trust. I just loved Nate and Jenna together. She was such a mama bear. And even though he had some internal battles, fears, and made some mistakes, he had a big heart and was determined. They really balanced each other and were both so loving and fun together. My heart swelled watching Nate fall so in love with his baby girl, and seeing how he could be a positive male figure to her twins. They were seriously the cutest blended family…but they had to go through some bad times to see if it could work out for them all in the end. My heart hurt at times, but I also smiled, laughed, and swooned.

5 Star Review Down Too Deep (Dirty Deeds #4) by J Daniels
I know this is hard to believe but this is the first book I have read from J. Daniels and I have no idea why that is.
Where do I start? This was a well written, emotional roller coaster of a read that had me totally invested from the first to the last chapter in the lives of Nathan Bell, Jenna Savage and their children.
I love single parent stories and when I read the blurb and found that both the hero and heroine were single parents I couldn’t wait to read this book.
Nathan has neglected his 2 year old daughter Marley since the sudden death of his wife and is struggling on numerous levels. Jenna wants to help and feelings soon come in to play.
Will Nathan be brave enough to take another chance on love and happiness, or will his fears hold him prisoner?
This book brought me to tears, made me laugh, made me smile and above all else, made me feel.
Simply put, I loved it and will be reading more from J. Daniels as soon as time permits.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley.
To say that Nathan Bell is in over his head is a complete understatement. His wife’s unexpected passing two years ago, left him a shell of the man he use to be, one that is drowning in guilt and anger. For months he has tried to numb the hurt his wife’s death caused with alcohol, but the hurt just won’t go away. His parents have taken over the reigns of raising his daughter while he’s tried to get his life back on track, but in doing so they kind of enabled him to shrug on his parenting responsibilities.
At the time they thought they were doing the right thing, but now they are beginning to see the best thing for him is a little tough love. They sit him down and tell him it’s time for him to make time for his daughter, find a reliable sitter for her, and stop relying on them to hold things in his life together… in other-wards, it’s time for him to step up and be the father his daughter needs.
He knows their right, but unfortunately he has no idea where to even begin… then an angel with two beautiful kids of her own wanders into his and Marley’s lives, and not only helps him see the error of his ways, but also makes him believe that it’s possible to find love again after facing a tragedy. As their lives start to intertwine so do their hearts, but are they ready to let love in again?
Down to Deep is a story of personal growth, new beginnings, healing, and finding love again after loss. This single parent story introduces you to two people who have kind of given up on love, both focusing their time on being parents, and somewhat forgetting about having a personal life. Nathan has had a rough road, he had it all, then in a blink of an eye his happily ever after was gone. And left in it’s wake was a unprepared single father, ridden with guilt, and struggling to move on. Watching him learn how to care for his young daughter on his own was rough at times, but little by little he learned the right path to take.. not without a few little nudges though. When Jenna and her children came into his world, you could see the effect they had on him and his daughter, it was such a beautiful thing to watch unfold. I loved this one, it had everything you could want in a story and more. If you are a lover of single parents stories, then I am certain you will adore this one, it’s heartfelt, emotional, humorous, and deeply touching! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, via NetGalley request, and I am leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
“ . , . ’ , .”
Down Too Deep is book four of Daniels’ series Dirty Deeds. It can be read as a standalone. This was actually my first read from this author and I really love it. This story is a beautiful single parents romance. Both main characters are single parents which made it more cute. I was hook into the life of Jenna and her twins Olivia and Oliver. Plus Nathan and his daughter Marley stole my heart. Having this story involving this whole pack of incredible cute characters was the thing I love the most about this book. The kids brought so many smiles to my face with their innocence and curiosity.
Nathan had too overcome a tragic loss but thanks to the trio of Jenna and her twins this was more easy for Nate. It felt like this three were sent to help him deal with his sadness and put him back together. The relationship between the twins and Nate was the sweetest and so was Jenna and Marley. You could feel the immense love that grew between them.
The fact that the romantic parts were really steamy and sexy but they weren’t the center of the story was a plus. I love seen the dynamics of day to day of this characters. The struggles and sorrow were palpable at some points making me emotional.
I really enjoy this read and I’m looking forward for my next J. Daniel read. Down Too Deep release October 8.
Down Too Deep is a highly emotional single parent romance that is sure to have you swooning throughout this book. This author did an amazing job of making me fall in love with the characters because OMG Jenna and Nathan!!
Both are single parents with very different situations except for the fact of how much they love their children. When circumstances bring them together neither can deny the sparks that start to fly between them.
I loved how even through their struggles, they always managed to do what was right for their children and absolutely adored how it all came together. This author deserves all of the kudos for these words and I highly recommended that you check this one out. It can be read as a standalone so it is a perfect time to jump in!

2 single parents + 3 adorable kids = 1 truly entertaining love story!!!
This is my 4th book by J. Daniels and the 4th book in this series. I have truly enjoyed reading this series and kind of sad to see it come to an end.
As with the other books in this series, I truly enjoy the writing style of this author and I have found all the storylines and characters fun and relatable. I thought Down Too Deep is my favorite of this series though and that has everything to do with the 3 kids we meet in this book. I am truly a sucker for the single parent romance and any adorable kids in a story.
The only reason I couldn’t give this book 5 stars was because of the pace of the story. It is a little on the slower side and I felt there was a little too much filler and inner monologue for my liking. This story was never boring, I just felt some of the filler could’ve been left out to move things a long a little faster.
Down Too Deep is the 4th and final book of J. Daniels Dirty Deeds Series. This book can be read as a standalone but you do see past characters in this book. I think to truly appreciate these characters and the world they live in, this series should be read in order. This story is told in Dual POV.
In this book we follow the story of Nathan and Jenna. Jenna is Brian’s (from Four Letter Word Book 1) sister. She is a single mom to 2 really adorable 8 year old twins….Oliver and Olivia. Nathan is a single dad who owns the restaurant that we have seen throughout this series. (Some of the other heroines work in this restaurant). He is the father of a sweet 2 year old daughter….Marley. 2 years ago Nathan had something horrible happen and it caused him to shut down and put up walls when it came to everything. So when his parents, who have been taking care of Marley for the last 2 yrs, tells him he needs to straighten up and take care of his own daughter, that truly shocks Nathan and he is lost as to what to do. That is until one night when he has Marley at work with him and she escapes into the restaurant. She is “captured” by Jenna. So when Jenna goes to his office to return his daughter, Nathan is grateful. This little meeting leads to Nathan hiring Jenna to help him out with his daughter for the summer. Can Jenna help him break down his walls?? Can she show him he is worth loving?? Will they get their HEA?? Read this story to find out.
This book was a story about learning to love again. It is a story about hope and healing. This book had everything for every reader. This book was such an entertaining story, the kids in the story truly stole the show for me. I loved every scene they were in. Now even though I say this, this book was also full of emotion and heart aching moments. Just know that when your heart breaks through this story, in the end she puts it back together and you will have a smile on your face.
I would definitely recommend this book…pick this one up, I don’t think you’ll regret it!!
