Wrapped in Ink from Carrie Ann Ryan is here! “The Montgomery Ink saga continues with a new series set in Boulder, where a family secret might just change everything.” Plus, the blurb mentions a puppy… 😀
We have a new set of Montgomery’s, and how can you not love that! So here we meet Liam Montgomery, who by all accounts is quite yummy. After an unfortunate accident, he/we get to meet Arden, who had her own kind of unfortunate accident. An unlikely place to meet and flirt, but this chance encounter eventually leads to more. A friendship that turns into caring, and though both seem to go in trying to hold back, they truly can’t help where their feelings take them. Both have issues they are dealing with, and things you have to read to find out about. Also a bunch of siblings that meddle whenever they want. I did some giggling and I did some tearing up. But I definitely loved this! Look forward to the next one
I received a free copy of this book from the author.
This is the first book in the new Montgomery Ink: Boulder series. It features some of the cousins to the Montgomery family in Denver and Colorado Springs. The main characters this go ’round are Liam Montgomery and Arden Brady.
These two initially meet in the hospital. They didn’t realize how much they’d have in common at the time. Their meet cute was definitely cute. Shortly thereafter though Liam’s life was turned upside down by one little piece of paper.
Did you ever go through life knowing who you were until you didn’t? That’s the weight on Liam’s shoulders until he meets Arden again on a walk in their neighborhood.
There’s lots of different things happening with these two characters in this book but their story is super sweet. I don’t mean sugary – just how they go about falling for each other is by spending time together. Learning one another. Generally getting to know each other and leaning when they could be running.
I hope you enjoy this first installment of the Bolder Montgomery’s. I look forward to seeing what happens next with Liam’s siblings!
Liam is a cousin of all the other Montgomery’s. He used to model, now he is a successful writer. Arden Brady has her own company, she works for famous authors as basically a fact checker. She helps them keep what they wrote in previous books in order. She finds out Liam uses a pen name when writing, that scene was awesome. She struggles with Lupus. She meets Liam in the hospital after she has an episode, and He gets knocked down by scaffolding protecting his sister Bristol at a wedding. He actually introduced the couple, one of them being with his publishing house.
Arden is the baby with 4 older brothers, Liam is the oldest with 2 brothers and a sister.
She has some flare ups with lupus and goes into the hospital, and Liam is there both times with her.
They love each other, and there is 2 family dinners, one with her brothers, and one with his family. There will be 3 more stories in the Boulder Montgomery series, and a spin off Promise Me series, featuring her 4 brothers. I love every book Carrie Ann has written in the entire Ink series and all its spin offs. Hope she writes a million more !
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Arden spent her life in pain.
Because of her Lupus, the hospital is like her second home.
She has good days and bad days.
That is how Arden meets Liam.
At first, it was just a flirtation.
As they got to know each other, it turned into something more.
Was Liam there for the long run ?
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I really enjoyed Arden and Liam’s story. Their chemistry was off the charts and the plethora of siblings were hilarious. They are each dealing with things in their lives that threaten their budding relationship at every turn. But with meddling families and a rambunctious dog, Arden and Liam learn that best things in life are worth working for.
So in love with the Montgomery Ink series and this newest spinoff is so worth the wait! It doesn’t get any better than this and if you need a romance read that doesn’t disappoint than this is a must click for you. Great characters, emotions that you can relate and a HEA makes this a heartfelt and enjoyable read. Can’t wait for the next story in this series!
This is definitely a page Turner. I did not want to put it down at all. I have read it twice already, and you find new this each time that you missed before. I love Carrie Ann brings the characters to life with real world problems, and issues. The fact that all her friends left her because of her disease is horrible, but Liam would never do that because he cares about Arden. Liam is going through so much himself with his family secrets as well as taking care of Arden. When they go to see Austin to get a tattoo, it’s great to see some of the original characters. This is one of her best yet. Can’t wait to read more of this series.
Great way to start the Boulder series!!! Liam’s a great guy and the way he stands by Arden make me like him even more!!!Arden is funny and strong even though she has alot to deal with. All the siblings are great!! Can’t wait for more from Boulder!!!!!!!
Carrie Ann Ryan’s newest effort in the Montgomery Family is another can’t put down read. Liam is completely delicious and exciting to get to meet. As his relationship with Arden begins, his world begins to crumble. Each and every Montgomery is exciting and well written. Liam and Arden’s story is no exception. She pulls you in with each page.
Liam opens the door to the newest branch of the Montgomery family. While at a wedding with his family, he saves his little sister from an accident and ends up in the Emergency Room. While there he meets Arden who is having issues of her own. As Liam recuperates, his world is completely rocked. Arden is just the diversion he is looking for to help him re-center. As the reader, we get to fall in love as Arden and Liam fall in love.
What a great read!
I am not sure I have the correct words for how much this story moved me. The realistic issues that our characters suffer from/with are so on point and believable. The story is 100% relatable and made my heart melt.
Arden and Liam are two of the best lead characters I have read and that’s saying something. The way that Carrie Ann Ryan tells their story is remarkable! I am confident in saying that after you read their story you will want to hug everyone! It has so many eye opening elements in it that make you feel for these characters even more than you might otherwise. Our author hits them with a lot and bravo for not making this just about one of our main characters having a major issue and trying to accept help from the other. Both of our leads have problems that being together helps them deal a little bit better with. Some problems you can’t ever get over but you can learn to live a stronger life with them.
Oh and Jasper is a hoot!
Thank you for making my first read by you so fantastic! I can’t wait to read more of your work Carrie Ann Ryan.
The Montgomery Ink series is one of my absolute favorites and this 1st book in the spinoff series of Boulder cousins does not disappoint.
Arden & Liam meet at a time when they both have a lot of things going on here n their lives. Ms Ryan does a wonderful job of telling a story that truly makes you believe that all things really do happen for a reason. She show us that there has to be hope in the darkness and love really can heal anything.
Anxiously awaiting the rest of the series.
Liam lands in the hospital after an accident at a friend’s wedding. Arden’s health has landed her in the hospital more times than she can count. A chance meeting in neighboring hospital beds leads to a few hours of random conversation and Liam scoring her number. When a secret, that could change his life, emerges will it destroy any chance at a first date?
I have loved all the cousins, siblings and extended family in the Montgomery Ink series. Liam and his siblings kept me laughing. Carrie Ann knows how to write these gorgeous, tough, tattooed exterior with a soft side men. Can’t wait to read the rest of the sibs books and hope we are lucky enough to get more of Arden’s brothers too.
Liam and Arden’s romance gets this new series off to a very emotional start. I loved these two as a couple. The storyline quickly pulled me in and had me fully engrossed. I thought that both characters were likable. I found it easy to relate to and feel for Arden. Most people have no idea how hard it is to live with a disease or illness that is not obviously visable. It brings a whole new level of hardship into your life. I also felt for Liam and the struggle he faced with his own baggage and emotional turmoil. My heart melted at the connection and love that blossomed between these two in this beautiful and touching romance.
Wrapped in Ink is such a emotional read. I laughed and cried, my heart broke at times and it soared. I truly enjoyed this book, Carrie Ann Ryan has such a profound effect on you while you get lost in her amazing books. Wrapped in Ink is one of my new go to books. A definite one click.
This is the first book in the Montgomery Ink-Boulder series and we got to meet Liam in the last book in the Colorado Springs Montgomery’s. When an accident lands Liam in the ER, he is just looking for a distraction in order to make the time pass and keep his mind off things. Arden has been in and out of the hospital for years. She may not always look sick, but the sickness is always there. Just waiting. And she has learned the hard way that the only people she can rely on are herself and her family. She truly doesn’t expect Liam. And when they start spending time together, neither expects the other to come to mean quite so much.
I absolutely loved this one! It brings to light the fact that so many people suffer in silence with diseases that you may not see on the surface. So many people may look perfectly healthy-when in reality they really aren’t, and are fighting a battle that you have no idea about. But this book also points out that even if you are struggling, there are still people who are good and can be there and love you regardless. Liam isn’t perfect by any means. He was struggling with his own issues and I completely understand how he could be. But even though he was struggling, he still sticks around and is there for Arden when she needs him. He still takes the time to be there and present. And that to me was everything. Not many people truly stick around, and the ones who do? They are beautiful souls! And then you throw in Arden, who definitely got the short end of the stick when it comes to her health. But she still finds ways to be happy and just keep pushing through. And together? Together they become perfect, when apart they definitely aren’t. And those new side characters? Let’s just say I definitely need some books about Arden’s brothers!!
Who would have thought going to a friends wedding would change your life. Liam Montgomery discovered two things after a narrow miss and a trip to the hospital. One secrets hurt but only tear you apart if you let them and two, unexpected things happen when you look for them the least.
Liam Montgomery, former model turned best selling author is 100% Montgomery. Talent seems to have a way of coming with Montgomery name and family means everything to him. A bit of a recluse due to the nature of his work, Liam has a soft and caring spirit I didn’t expect. His world got turned upside down and inside out. I admire his willingness to want to think things out and not jump to conclusions. Time and a distraction is what Liam thinks he needs.
Arden just wants to live her life. Diagnosed with lupus, Arden fight a battle with her body on a daily basis. Some days are better than others. A smart and intelligent woman with a passion for research. An avid reader, that we all can relate too. Arden is an extremely strong character. She doesn’t do it because she wants to she does it because she has to and she knows no other way. Using her mind and the resources she has to adjust her job around the way she can work even on a bad day. Leaving with a disease is not easy and too many times Arden has watched good people walk away from her life.
Neither Liam or Arden would have thought in a million years that a trip to the ER would have love staring them right in the face. A freak accident at a wedding and a Lupus flare up made to strangers smile at one another one when smiling was the last thing on your mind. Wrapped in Ink is all wrapped in emotions and healing. Liam and Arden met by chance and then ran into each other again by chance. Their easy nature with each other allow their personalities to shine through even while going through their personal battles. Arden and Liam have enough in common other personalities mesh well allowing their chemistry to come through naturally. Wrapped in Ink is a heavy story with a happy end, that is total Montgomery.
Change is always around the corner, but sometimes change is what Liam Montgomery wasnt expecting to hit him all at once. A deep Family secret and finding possibly the love of his life all becasue of Change. But can Liam overcome the secret that was hidden from him and heal from that, and will he finally make the next big leap and go after what he has been missing for so long in his life and get the girl or forever be the lone wolf.
Arden may look like the perfect normal woman on the outside, but on the inside there is something that she fights daily. with her over protective family always butting in she couldnt love them any less for. With a Chance meeting in an Er will bring a big Change for Arden, Can she continue to fight the battle within, and claim the man that is sweeping her off her feet or will she walk away to protect him from a future she cant give him?
I love Carrie Ann Ryan’s books, the way she puts so much feeling into each and every character. although they do start out very slow and do take some time to build up to the better parts, it is worth it in the end to stick thru and read what is happening with the Montgomery family and how these character that she has written deal with all the new changes that are coming their way.
Totally loved this book. I mean how could you not fall in love with these two characters. Both have big over protective families who only want the best for them. I really enjoyed their initial meeting in the ER and their banter (flirting) was so good. I liked how both families rallied around them when they were each going through some difficult things and of course Jasper was the perfect addition to this story. I really liked how Liam was there for Arden, no questions asked and I also liked how they worked in the same profession but really fell even more in love with the story and especially these two when the connection between them came into play. Really, great book. Can’t wait to read the next book!
5 Stars
A new branch of the Montgomery family is here with the arrival of Liam, and what an emotional start it is. Liam and Arden have many individual obstacles in their lives when they meet and find their paths have already unknowingly crossed, through their professional lives. What transpires is a path full of self evaluation and situations that will cause them both to discover who they are and what they want out of life and love. I have always loved every Montgomery every written and Liam’s book makes me look forward to the rest of the Boulder crew!
