I loved this book! This book hits on so medical issues that a close friend of mine has, so I sympathized with Arden. She is such a strong woman and is trying the best she can. Liam is going through a hard time as well when he discovers his family is not who he thought they were. These two needed each other and helped each other through so much. Their chemistry was explosive. I loved also catching up with Austin. I love everything Montgomery and can not wait for the next book!
The most emotional book I’ve read this year. Liam and Arden each struggle with accepting their life circumstances. After a chance meeting and then a chance encounter to re connect they face these challenges while engaging in a new relationship neither one was sure they were ready for. In facing their struggles they push and pull at each other testing the strength of their connection and feelings. These two characters are one of the strongest and most tested couples I’ve read about. Throw in the Mongtomery family and Adren’s over protective brothers and you get a healthy douse of laughter as well. This book was a wonderful read and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for this arm of the Montgomery family.
4.5 stars! Always love CAR’s stories. She does “real” so amazingly well. There’s always a struggle for the H/h to overcome but never some fake sounding plot machinations. Just real people, beautiful in their flaws, who have to work for their HEA through issues that could happen to anyone. It’s rich and layered, always. Liam and Arden’s journey was no exception. Arden resonated with me a bit more with her silent disease, but I appreciated Liam’s willingness to think as he reframed everything he knew and not jump to an angsty fight it out response. Their hea was beautiful.
Liam and Arden both have so much going on and feel so lost.
Thank goodness that they both have the families that they do and the love these two develop is one most strive to find. Having family that has you back is the best and these two have it on both sides . I can not wait for the next installment of this new series of Montgomerys
Montgomery Ink: Boulder #1, More Montgomery cousins. Liam is the eldest of the Boulder cousins became a model at a young age, he also knew when to retire from that lifestyle he has since become the famous L.M. Berry an action adventure/sci-fi-ish writer. Arden Brady has been living with Lupus since she was young and since her unpredictable illness may flare up at any time she got into a job that allows her to work from home and from bed if the occasion calls for it, she is a professional researcher for authors and also writes and maintains series “bible” helping them keep track of everything pertaining to their book series. Liam and Arden meet at the hospital, Arden is suffering from a flare up and Liam saved his sister from an accident at a wedding. Despite not looking her best Liam and Arden still flirted and ended up with Arden giving Liam her phone number. Liam finds out something that changes his whole world, he feels like his whole life has been a lie. It was pure happenstance or just plain fate that Liam and Arden ran into each other a couple weeks later and have coffee together turns out they have quite a bit in common, for instance Arden does research for his books.
Arden deals with her attraction to Liam and fears that this relationship will be just like her other one and leave her heart broken she tries to keep herself distant from him, it doesn’t help that he’s sweet and kind and even her three very overprotective brothers like him. Liam, after finding out the truth, is dealing with an existential crisis. Arden was just supposed to be a distraction to get his mind off his family and his book but the more he becomes attached the harder time he has dealing with it, he can’t even figure out what his characters are doing. Liam has to figure things out one at a time before all the pieces come together and if Arden lets her heart open to him and lets go of her fears.
Overall, another lovely, emotional, sexy story from Carrie Ann Ryan. I loved Liam and Arden. Liam and his identity crisis and Arden’s battle with her own body and her mind and them falling in love such a good read. AND Arden’s brother are getting their own series eventually YAY!
I devoured Liam and Arden’s story. There was so much emotion that made this book so fantastic. I don’t want to spoil the story for anyone, but I will say definitely buy this book. Carrie Ann Ryan wrote an emotional roller coaster of a story that you will adore.
Liam Montgomery is big brother to the the boulder Montgomery’s. He learns an unfortunate family secret that he is the main source of topic of. Arden Brady is the baby to 4 older brothers & unfortunately suffers from Lupus. She has a super bad flare up and ends up in the hospital where she meets Liam, who saved his baby sister from an unfortunate accident.
Both Liam and Arden hit it pretty well. They have another chance encounter and Liam asks Arden out. Turns out, it’s a small world. Good story with the most real life aspects from Carrie Ann we’ve had in a few books. Very relatable. 4.5/5
When I started reading I couldn’t put it down.Carrie Ann Ryan is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this books. Can’t wait for the next book.
‘Wrapped in Ink’ is book one in Carrie Ann Ryan’s latest series the Montgomery Ink Boulder series, and what an emotional and heartwarming way to kick it off. This story is going to grip your heart and dig deep into your soul. Be prepared for an emotional ride.
Liam used to be a model, but is now a successful writer. Liam is the oldest of his siblings of 2 brothers and a sister. After an accident where he gets knocked down by scaffolding protecting his sister at a wedding, Liam ends up in hospital where he meets Arden after she has had an episode.
Arden Brady is the youngest of her siblings with 4 older very protective brothers. Arden struggles with Lupus and has flair up episodes, that has her in and out of hospital. Arden is very sick but she doesn’t look sick, which has caused her a lot of trouble. On days when she isn’t having a flair up, Arden is working. Arden has her own company being a fact checker for famous authors.
Arden has learnt the hard way that the only people she can truly rely on are herself and her family.
This book hit very close to home for me, so I was a wreck when reading it. My husband suffers from a silent disease, which causes our family a lot of controversy, even with family members. So I understand and sympathise with Arden for being cautious with people.
Thank you Carrie Ann Ryan for writing another wonderfully fantastic book. Your characters just get better and better. Even though this book was emotional it was great to see previous characters making appearances as well as some new ones.
5 WRAPPED IN INK STARS!! What a great start for this new series. Liam and Arden story has all the feels and I loved every word in this book. These two have things they need to work out for each of them through this story. Grab this book it start the new series.
Loved all the sibling interaction from both families! Liam was wonderful, while he wasn’t sure how to handle Arden’s condition he wasn’t afraid to at least try.
Totally AWESOME!!! I was over-the-moon to read a book with a
“Spoonie” as the female lead. Arden, for me, has to be one of the most relatable characters Carrie Ann Ryan has written to date. I have too often wished for my favorite romance genre author’s to break from the pack and write their H’s and h’s to be REAL- boils, scars, heartbreaking illness’s and all. I’m not even opposed to a guy with less than a 6-pack winning the day! This book, it embraces REAL like a champ. I was grateful that the author didn’t make Liam too perfect either. He had honest reactions to his experiences with Arden and it doesn’t get any better than that. Loved the HEA too…it was written beautifully. I could gush on about this book for hours but I prefer to leave it up to the reader to experience, Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!.
Wrapped in Ink is the story of Liam and Arden. This is the start of a new Montgomery series from Carrie Ann Ryan and they are going to be as hot as the previous ones. I really enjoyed this book because not only is it about Liam and Arden finding their way to each other but Liam and Arden going on their own journeys..Arden with her illness and Liam with a bombshell of a secret. I love their “meet cute” in the beginning and the growth of their relationship. The addition of the siblings on both sides is fantastic and I hope they all get their own stories as well. There is a lot of angst in this book but the conclusion is not rushed and it is a very enjoyable read!
This book does not disappoint! Writing a series about a family that is so indelible in a readers mind is a challenge, but Ms. Ryan navigates this with ease. Every story, every family branch, brings something fresh and new to the world. Every story I read, I believe is my favorite, this one is no exception!! I laughed, cried, and could empathize with the characters. Arden and Liam touched me from page one. I can’t wait to continue reading this series. Another AMAZING READ!!!
This is the first book in the Boulder Series and it was as amazing as all her other books. This is the heartwarming story of Liam and Arden. It reels you in and holds onto your heart. You get all the feels. As always Carrie Ann goes outside the box with this story line, and doesn’t stray away from the hard issues. She shows us how people with certain diseases suffer in silence, yet can still live a happy, full life. I also adore how these characters always have strong family ties and value all the people in their lives. This is an absolute must read. I loved this book and can’t wait for Ethan’s book.
The first book in the new series revolves around Liam and Arden. And what a great beginning. This story has it all, drama, love, tears, laughter and lots of brothers and sisters.
Arden has a chronic illness that no one seems to understand just how much it takes from her. Liam is the first to really see her and how that illness affects her. As they begin their relationship, they have to come to grips with the fact that there will be rough times. But love is there both from Liam and Arden to each other and from their respective families.
I loved everything about this story, I know it’s a great story when I’ve had some laughs and then used several tissues. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I fell in love with these 2 characters, Liam & Arden. With this story, Carrie Ann Ryan shows us that no matter what we are facing we can still find love and have a HEA. Liam & Arden just fit together from the start. And, they connect in an unusual place: the hospital! And from there a friends to relationship evolves. And despite the challenges each are facing, they are there for the other. It is one of the reasons I love about them. Yes, they get frustrated with the other, what couple doesn’t. But, they stand by and help the other with what they are going through along with their family and friends. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
Wrapped in Ink is the first story in Carrie Ann Ryan’s new spin-off series Montgomery Ink: Boulder. This book was just as amazing as the rest of the Montgomery Ink stories. Wonderful characters and an engaging plot drew me in right from the start.
The author really impressed me with how she incorporated an autoimmune disease into the storyline. Whether it’s Lupus, Hashi’s or even Celiac, many times these are silent but seriously deliberating illnesses which are oftentimes misunderstood or disregarded. Very few understand how a “flare” can disrupt your life.
Overall this was an awesome story and with all the secondary characters making an appearance, hopefully there’ll be many more stories to come.
I loved this book. I was fortunate enough to get to read this book early. I only wish I could go back and read it for the first time again. Liam Montgomery has lived his life as the oldest brother. Always there to protect his younger siblings. He takes his “job” very seriously. Even ending up in the hospital after saving his one and only sister. That’s where he meets Arden. Living with an invisible disease is harder than you would think. On the outside, she looks fine. But on the inside she is silently crying. Despite the odd meeting, Liam and Arden come together to try and be the one each other needs. I loved how Liam carried his protectiveness over onto to Arden despite her protests. And of course how Arden knew exactly how to make Liam focus on whats important. I highly recommend this book. It does not disappoint.
I have all the feels for this book. Seriously, I read it in a day and a half. I love the Montgomery family and love getting more stories about this family. I loved Liam and Arden. These 2 had so many layers to them and seeing them meet and grow was amazing. I felt all the emotions reading this story. From goose bumps to tears to laughter to happiness, I felt it all. Plus, Arden comes with some brothers who could each use a book.
