Mac Travis went to the Florida Keys to disappear, but his new commercial diving job turns out to be more than he planned. An artifact discovered while working on a bridge pier quickly draws the attention of a real estate tycoon, a Jersey mobster and twin Indian Chiefs all trying to open a casino in the pristine Keys. When his psycho ex-girlfriend tracks him down things get even more interesting.
… interesting.

EDITORIAL REVIEWS
“A riveting tale of intrigue and terrorism, Key West characters in their full glory! Fast paced and continually changing direction Mr Becker has me hooked on his skillful and adventurous tales from the Conch Republic!” – Amazon Review
“Read this book in one day. The scenes move, and I mean fast. Anything goes in the Florida Keys, and this story captures the essence. Good descriptions, unique characters and a plot that could be taken from the news headlines. I’m a fan of Florida fiction and Steven Becker is now on my “to-read” list” – Ed Robinson – Author of Leap Of Faith/Quit Your Job And Live On A Boat

A lot of action, a lot of crazy characters, and an entirely predictable plot. It took me back to animated children’s mysteries I had to watch with my kids, but with violence, drugs, alcohol, and nudity thrown in. It sort of reminded me of Carl Hiaasen’s books, but his are well written and have a lot of fun humor in them.
What a delightful cast of quirky characters up to their armpits in sand and sin.
Love stories that take place in the Florida Keys.
Gave up 30% into the book. Too slow. Didn’t care for the main character or ex-girlfriend.
A good read with worthwhile characters.
Decided to give this book a read because it was recommended to fans of Clive Cussler. While not an international thriller if spy like episodes, it is a fast based action based plot. I like that revolves around a primarily two man team doing construction work with a side of underwater archeology. Recommend this book.
All of Steven Becker’s books are great reads. Love the characters, the story lines and the settings. Always enjoyabke and entertaning. Highly recommend.
A fun read for a day on the beach.
Unrealistic and too fictional.
Love the life in the Keys! Good characters and a fun read! Almost as good as being there. Great escape reading.
If you love scuba diving or just love being in the ocean, then you will enjoy this book. You can almost feel the sea’s surge as you turn the pages.
From great characters like to Max who is looking to find a new home to murder and extortion. Ex-girlfriend with no morals expecting to find ex and be taken care of, but will accept help from anyone no matter the cost. Wood, an old codger works hard and has a rough life, in fact at this time everything is going wrong. He is still trying to salvage this and raise a teenage daughter the right way
A must read !!!
Enjoyed the diving scenes and local in the Florida Keys.
Meh.
Authentic easy to read with salty Key West characters and a satisfying ending.
Another story in the Wood’s series. Good story, easy to read
need to start with book one
I could not get into this book. The synoposis makes it sound great, but the actual story didn’t grab my attention.
It was ok. Too much detail in the scuba, and boat things and then it just wraps up too quickly. Seems like you are writing to the Key West audience that knows all this stuff and you are trying to impress them that you know what you are talking about instead of writing to a general U.S. audience that yes, would like to know a little, but not so much detail. It bogs down the story.
