Mac Travis went to the Florida Keys to disappear, but his new commercial diving job turns out to be more than he planned. An artifact discovered while working on a bridge pier quickly draws the attention of a real estate tycoon, a Jersey mobster and twin Indian Chiefs all trying to open a casino in the pristine Keys. When his psycho ex-girlfriend tracks him down things get even more interesting.
… interesting.

EDITORIAL REVIEWS
“A riveting tale of intrigue and terrorism, Key West characters in their full glory! Fast paced and continually changing direction Mr Becker has me hooked on his skillful and adventurous tales from the Conch Republic!” – Amazon Review
“Read this book in one day. The scenes move, and I mean fast. Anything goes in the Florida Keys, and this story captures the essence. Good descriptions, unique characters and a plot that could be taken from the news headlines. I’m a fan of Florida fiction and Steven Becker is now on my “to-read” list” – Ed Robinson – Author of Leap Of Faith/Quit Your Job And Live On A Boat

Good starter for this author
Easy reading, entertaining and good for stay at homing.
good story line
Nice character development where you become anxious to learn more of their back stories. Authentic and informative for the Florida Keys area.
Could have focused more on the historical aspects and implications of the relic.
The author writes with a keen knowledge and good description of what this marine world is like. I look forward to reading more by him.
VERY SLOW, DID NOT FINISH READING IT. TOO TECHNICAL.
have read other Wood’s books–all good!!
Trouble getting into it
I like all the woods novels. Great location a little unbelievable but is a fiction novel
I thought the book had an interesting background and storyline. I feel like the story did not benefit from the language used.. other than that, I say this is well written.
Great read and area accurate. Good story teller.
Great read, especially if you are familiar with the Keys.
Enjoyed it right up until the abrupt ending. Worst cliff hanger ever.
Worth your time to read
I probably would have enjoyed this book because I am a diver, but I couldn’t get past the raunchy language to hear the story the author was telling. If an author must use raunchy language to get his point across, he’s not much of an author in my mind.
Great book
I have fly fished in the wilds of Southern Florida and this captures the area extremely well – both the good and the bad!
I read the first 4 in the series; the character development is just average, plots are fairly unrealistic, but I read them anyway…. just ok….
Lots of overlapping and interconnected sub-stories which move along at a quick pace. Great story if you love the water and appreciate the dangers that can exist above and below.
