As a gifted healer, Fiona O’Brien has led a magickal life, though most certainly not an easy one.
Born and raised in the small town of Grace’s Cove, Fiona faces undue criticism and scrutiny from the town’s elite and religious sectors. When Fiona is credited with healing the daughter of one of the town’s leading families, the local priest demands she be arrested and put on trial. The charge? … The charge? Witchcraft.
Only the love of a warm-hearted man with a booming laugh – and the kindness of strangers – will help her win a battle against closed minds and moral hierarchy. Through it all, Fiona holds on to her faith that light must prevail against the dark.
And when Fiona is given a choice – one which will forever change the fabric of her life – she learns that she must know heartbreak to truly understand her gift.
This book can be read as a stand-alone novel.

Perfect ending to a wonderful series. This is my favorite book of the series. After reading about all her girls, we finally get Fiona’s story. It’s a beautiful and tragic story and I thank the author for not leaving her out, it would have been so easy to leave the old lady out.
The way the story is told is brilliant, there’s not “xxx years ago” chapters, she is telling the story and the come back once in a while.
Without giving too much away, the story was lovely and you’ll end up loving Fiona more than ever before.
Part of an entertaining series. I recommend this a good book
After reading all 5 previous books in this series I couldn’t wait to get to this one. Fiona has been a major character throughout the whole series helping each of her girls find happiness in their lives and with their own powers.
We finally get to hear all of Fiona’s story in this book and ladies get the kleenex boxes ready. Not once, but three times for me. Some parts were just so sad when you find out about Fiona’s life. There is great hope though too with the way she has lived her life after her tragedy. She is finally able to really reconnect with her daughter, Margaret.
I don’t want to spoil the ending of this story because you really have to read it yourselves. The book just wouldn’t be the same knowing how this ends, but know that Fiona does get a happy ending in her own way….
I’m glad Ms. O’Malley wrote Fiona’s story, but I wish it didn’t have to end! She started a new series where these characters have brief roles, but after the teasers of little Grace I want to see all the mischief she brings growing up!
I really am sorry this is the last book as I got so attached to all of these characters!
Let me first say, I have loved this Whole series. The other night I was finishing Wild Irish Roots – Margaret and Sean’s story, and Margaret’s mother, Fiona, made mention of her past and choices she had to make in her past. Let’s say I was intrigued enough that I had to start Wild Irish Witch – Fiona’s story, right then … and proceeded to read till 6am, when I finished this heart-filled story. Did I mention I cried for and with Fiona during her story?
If you’ve not read any of the earlier titles in the series, do! They are all such good stories on their own, but I find that as with any series, the characters do build on each other as you move through each title. I think this could be read on it’s own, but I do think you will enjoy it more if you read the series in sequence.
Briefly, Fiona is the grandmother to several of the characters living in Grace’s Cove – a small village in current day Ireland. She is a solitary person for the most part, and is a healer and maker of creams and tonics – using local herbs, plants, and just maybe a touch of magick. Through the course of the book, she is telling her daughter and granddaughter of her own life growing up, and then as an adult … how she has gotten to where she is now. It is her story of coming into her own as a healer, and as a woman – discovering the man she married and that was her life long love.
Love this series!
great book. Held my interest and I couldn’t wait to get the sequels. Good series!!
Fiona’s story! It was nice to read how everything transpired in her life and meeting the love of her life John! The story has more twists than expected!
A little bittersweet but a good story. And another series to follow…..
Fiona has always been my favorite character in this series. Was thrilled that her story was finally told and that magick provided a very satisfying end to this story.
