#1 NATIONAL BESTSELLERAt twenty-two, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother’s death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life. With no experience or training, driven only by blind will, she would hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest … the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State—and she would do it alone. Told with suspense and style, sparkling with warmth and humor, Wild powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddened, strengthened, and ultimately healed her.

One of the few books I’ve read that I wished I hadn’t finished. I literally left it on my nightstand with two pages left for almost two weeks. I couldn’t bring myself to finish the thing because I didn’t want to leave Cheryl Strayed’s world. This book is powerful and has a real impact. I love reading about people’s challenges and learning how they …
One of the best books I have ever read!
It was excellent.
I received the book about a year ago with a lot of praise.
This One is a realistic book that tells the actual journey of a young woman (Cheryl Stride) across the Pacific Ridge Trail throughout the United States.
After passing through difficult crises in her life, Cheryl decides to embark on the Sisyphean journey on her own. A mission that is …
What a great story of the woman’s spirit. Umfirgetabke
I usually
Y don’t like this type of book, but she’s got the knack. Great writer. Honest.
I was looking for some inspiration, but didn’t find it in this book.
Great read.
Love the first person narrrative and the way i was drawn in by her descriptive language.
Years after it was published, this is still a good book for those who’ve lost their way, who wonder if they’ll survive something life has thrown at them, or just need a little push to start to start their own journey. You’ll curse and cheer Strayed along the Pacific Crest Trail as she’s simultaneously rather unprepared and quite brave. And, …
I did not believe that she hiked the trail.
Loved this book! A self actualization journey combined with humor make this a great memoir!
Wild has a great story of a girl with great determination to walk the Pacific Crest Trail. It tells a good story of the trip, but why I gave it a lower rating was that Ms Strayed thinks that she has to use some of the most filthy words to sell books. It shows a very bad character and is not needed to relate a good story. For me it shows …
I’ve read this book twice now–It goes in my top 10 favorites of all time. The writing is top-notch.
I appreciated her journey and her brutal honesty about herself.
Intense and inspiring. Sorry I read it so quickly.
Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed (Wayward woman + massive life challenge + teeth grinding grit = awesome story + bestselling book + scarcity of toenails.)
Great book
For someone who will never hike such a long trail, it was interesting to see what it would be like to hike this historic trail. The author had great courage and commitment to accomplish such a challenging venture.
Way more than a book about a hike. The author bares her innermost self in this honest and exhilarating journey of self discovery and improvement. I was with her when she ran out of water, hiked endless inclines, lost her nails and all the rest of the obstacles she trudged through. Highly recommended!
