#1 NATIONAL BESTSELLERAt twenty-two, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother’s death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life. With no experience or training, driven only by blind will, she would hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest … the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State—and she would do it alone. Told with suspense and style, sparkling with warmth and humor, Wild powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddened, strengthened, and ultimately healed her.
Oprah’s Book Club 2.0 selection: This special eBook edition of Cheryl Strayed’s national best seller, Wild, features exclusive content, including Oprah’s personal notes highlighted within the text, and a reading group guide.

Just made me realize how determination can outlast any human pain!
Looong journey.
one of a few books that I just loved, period. Not only the adventure of this true story but her style of telling it.
It was a good read. Interesting in learning about her mistakes, and how she could have done things better. Glad I read the book before I have the chance to see movie, which has been out now for quite awhile, I believe.
While some lack of planning the trip drove me nuts, the book is an exciting read.
Recommend for adventure readers.
I read this after a friend’s recommendation and, although it’s not my usual fantasy or fiction book, I enjoyed the book, especially the start… I mean who packs nearly thirty kilos of goods into a pack then tries to stand up with it? And includes a whole massive role of condoms??? Only Cheryl! Entertaining read that’s now a movie as well about …
Pretty unrealistic.
At times you’d like to slap her for being so stupid… but her determination is rather inspiring
This journey shows how you can accomplish things if you set your mind to do it.
Gtreat book unforgettable one of my fav
Loved it. Couldn’t put it down!
I read this book when it first came out and again recently, and I enjoyed it even more the second time. Cheryl writes with such naked honesty and she puts me right on the trail with her. I love her adventurous spirit and love of books.
I’m a bit torn as far as how to review this one. On the one hand, I feel like this book is really inspirational in that it shows that with enough grit and determination, you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to, no matter how hard.
On the other hand, while her life being in turmoil was what led her to begin her trek, it seemed the same poor …
very enjoyable. i like true stories, and this one keeps the reader involved.
I really enjoyed this book.
The writing was excellent. It was a good read but just not my type of book.
It dragged in many spots. Painted a good picture of the trails she took.
The best!
Story not really believable; drug addict on trail and is able to stay sober and hike….
I love love love this book. Cheryl’s honesty and writing style just speaks to me! Highly recommend.
