Where Flowers Bloom is a work of women’s fiction with plenty of interpersonal drama, penned by author Nikki Vale. The work is written for adult audiences due to the inclusion of some steamy romantic scenes and moderate violence. In this emotive and highly engaging read, we meet romance writer Kendyll as she verges on losing her passion and belief in the happily ever after. Her current relationship with long-term fiancé Vance has grown stale, prompting them to move to a new town in the hopes of a fresh start. But Kendyll gets a lot more than she bargained for when she finds an old house filled with secrets and a new contractor who rekindles her hopes for love.
Author Nikki Vale has crafted an excellent and highly engaging drama that encompasses elements of excellent romance fiction, but also of cultural and interpersonal drama that really brings home the realism of the piece. Kendyll is a strong heroine with much to figure out in her life, and we follow her through decisions both good and bad with a fervent hope that her dreams will succeed. The interracial issues present and the elements of past history add a new dimension of diversity to the work which other writers could certainly take note of, relating a modern and realistic romantic tale. Overall, I would highly recommend Where Flowers Bloom for readers who not only enjoy an accomplished and moderate-heat level romantic story but also want realistic and heart-warming characters to root for and fall in love with.

Where Flowers Bloom: A Romantic, Modern To Historical, Mystery, by Nikki Vale is an interesting yet surprising story. It’s ideal if you are looking for a different take on a romance.
Kendyll is a romance writer who is desperate to find her very own happy ending.
This is a story that is full of emotional and physical conflict. Kendyll is torn between her feelings and what she was brought up to believe is right.
I very much enjoyed this story, I felt a little lost at times as the story floats between the past and the present, it was sometimes a little confusing. However, the story kept me hooked with the wonderful writing and the well-thought-out characters. I was intrigued to see where the book would take me, and it was not what I expected.
Where Flowers Bloom: A Romantic, Modern to Historial, Mystery by Nikki Vale is a well written story that fully caught my attention. It is a story that jumps between past and present and has you caught up so fully in what is happening that I found myself surprised a few times with the direction the author suddenly took the story. The book starts off slowly and builds up bit by bit. This for me just meant I became more invested in the story with each page I read.
I thought the characters were interesting to read about. The main character came across as really strong which I enjoyed. It added so much to the overall story. As the first book that I have read by this author I thought I was a great introduction. I enjoyed the writing style and overall pace of the book and thought she has a great combination of good story telling and strong, interesting characters. I am already looking forward to reading more of her books on the future.
I enjoyed this story. This is my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is a romance to history story that is a little different but in a good way. I enjoyed how Kendyll goes from the present to the past. Wes is a contractor that is hired to bring life back into a mansion but will he fix more than just the mansion? There is an attraction that they cannot deny between them. The spirit that pulls them together is hard to fight off, will it put these two together? There is more to this mansion than what they realize. This is a great story about a spirited mansion that comes to life. The plot kept me turning pages to the end as it was fast paced. This was an entertaining spirited story that was fun to read. I highly recommend this book.
I really enjoyed this story. It has a mixture of romance and paranormal which I love. It is a sweet story set in an ancient plantation. I’ve never read a book before where I was thinking about the main characters history or the colour of their skin but the beauty of this book is that the author brings a lot of the main characters history and culture into it.
Kendyll is a romance writer. Her relationship with her partner is rocky so when she gets a chance to move them to a new home and a fresh start she jumps at it. However the home she falls in love with is a old plantation home. As a young black woman why is she drawn to a place where they used to have black slaves? After she takes over the house she starts to have dreams about the people who used to live there.
Are the dreams memories or just the imagination of a romance writer?
Add to this the confusion she feels with regard to Wes the man helping her restore the house. Feeling attraction to a white man is not allowed and is frowned upon by her family. So why can’t she stop the feelings towards him? Is Wes the man that appears in her dreams or is the romance of the house and its history making her recreate things.
Kendyll and Vance childhood sweethearts is that passion still there.
Well that was a little bit of a surprise. Vance to be honest I don’t like his character or attitude. This book had many twist and turns to be honest it took me a few chapters to get into it. It a very clean Romance and adds in dark elements relating to slavery which was unexpected. I wish there was more to this story as I felt the ending was abrupt.
This story is very interesting and intriguing. The author does a great job with the descriptive details helping the story visual. There’s a lot going on not just with the romance but also the mystery of the house adding historical elements as well as paranormal. I just didn’t like how the story ended. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
