B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree and Winner of the National Indie Excellence AwardNaomi sees her first corpse in a Colorado Springs grocery store, but it won’t be her last. With devastating speed, a plague sweeps first the city, then the state, then the world, leaving less than 1% of the population to go on. Naomi, a gentle and sheltered housewife, finds herself fighting for survival in a world … populated by desperate people, where might-makes-right, and mercy and compassion are in short supply. Fellow survivors Jack, a youth minister from Woodland Park; Grace, a 17-year-old high school student from Limon; and Naomi’s daughter Piper, a student at the University of Northern Colorado, all find themselves searching for a safe path forward…because it’s not just the world that has changed.
The plague that decimates the human race also pushes mankind into evolutionary change. Those who survive are different, profoundly so, in ways they are just beginning to comprehend. As Naomi struggles to protect and reunite what’s left of her family, she must also learn to understand and accept the changes in herself. In this strange new world, her survival, and the survival of those she loves, depends on it.

I found it very realistic in how it far saw an end of the world as we know it event.
I have read a lot of similar books on here recently, this is so steeped in the richness and interaction of the characters and the quite often stark descriptions of mankinds descent into chaos, this took my breath away. One section in particular brought a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes. Bravo bravo
Really entertaining read and never dull. I enjoyed this book.
How horrifically prophetic!! The brake down of humanity to base anim
Finally an end of world story that’s a wonderful read and tells a great story that keeps you turning the page. This book was a joy to read after making my way through so many books that barely held my interest and whose writing style made reading them a struggle. The characters come alive on the page and draw you in to their story and hold you …
Love the twist on the post apocalyptic world!
I liked it and actually looked for the 2nd book.
I’m finished with What Survives of Us: I stayed up past my bedtime reading this and I immediately bought the next one in the series. I hope that tells you how much I enjoyed this book!
A bit slow getting started. Hard to figure out who is who until well into the book. BUt all of a sudden things start clicking.
Loved the characters and can’t wait to read the next book.
I have just finished “What Survives of Us”. I am also a writer. I was impressed with her touch on spiritual evolution and the use of herbal remedies In this book. It kept me reading instead of writing or other responsibilities!!

This was better than I anticipated. I have read quite a few apocalyptic, plague themed stories and I tend to compare them to a certain “King” tale! This one was no different, I know I shouldn’t do this but hey, I’m human.
Humanity was an infestation and you don’t shit where you eat. Answer:a plague!
The plague kills all but 1% of the world’s …
This book made a person wonder could this happen? I purchased the series to see how the characters ended their story.
Wonderful, thought provoking trilogy. Many, many twists and turns with characters to get invested in.
I loved this book so much. I have read a lot of dystopian books. This one is different. It’s so, so, so very good. The characters are extremely relateable and it’s not prettied up. Humans can be cruel, especially when fighting to stay alive. While this book does not create a pretty picture of the things people can do to one another, it is not …
I started reading this book out of boredom, I didn’t think I would like it….but loved it. Very good read. 🙂
Very good, I really enjoyed the book. It just ended too soon.
“…That no path is written. That no future is better or worse than another. There is simply the path, which is created as people choose it.”
Have you ever wondered what might happen if the world as you know it changed into something you were scared to trust? Post apocalyptic literature is hard to review sometimes because spoilers abound. This …
Great sociological post apocoliptic adventure; still reading, but nearly through. Very much enjoying; like the shifting scenes, characters & timeline presentation
A little bit preachy in a righteous god sort of way, but not enough to turn atheist readers away.
Dark. Very dark.
