What Dreams Are Made Of continues the story of the cowboy McIntyre brothers and their mother, Alice. I did not care for Lorna whose morals did not seem that great. I liked that widow, Alice McInyre is finding love again. The Star Gazer restaurant chef activities were interesting! I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.
What Dreams are Made of by Debra Clopton is book 2 of Star Gazer Inn of Corpus Christi Bay series…..We go back to visit the Star Gazer Inn. Alice has finished the remodeling of the inn and has grown closer to Seth, the man she hired to do the remodeling. Can she go on to find happiness after the death of her husband? We shall see. It also follows her grown sons who handle the family ranch. This story focuses on her son Dallas and the woman he rescues as she goes into labor while walking on the beach in front of the Inn. Alice’s son Dallas who was injured by a bull, is at a crossroads in his life. It looks like his bull riding days are over. Lorna, who he rescues is at a new beginning. You also find out what is going on with Alice, her friend Lisa the chef, as the Star Gazer Inn gets ready to open. We peek into the lives of the other sons, which gives a preview of what is to come in the next book. A book filled with joy, fulfillment, love and some sadness. You will enjoy reading What Dreams Are Made Of…….I received the book from the author but was not required to review it. These thoughts are my own on the book.
Alice McIntyre is preparing to open Star Gazer Inn with her friend and chef, Lisa, by her side, as well as a new beau, Seth, who worked with her on the remodeling of the inn. Her son, Jackson, is planning to wed Nina, Alice’s neighbor, as soon as they can decide on a date. Another son, Dallas, returns home with an injured shoulder and decisions to make about his bull riding career. He rescues a young woman, Lorna, who has gone into sudden labor on the beach, and brings her to the Inn and to his mother. Dallas enjoys helping Lorna and her infant son on the ranch they have inherited and soon they are also thinking of a long term relationship. Alice’s heart is full of joy and knows that God has brought her to this place and time and man.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review; all opinions are my own.
Just a little too predictable for me.
I enjoyed this second book of the Star Gazer Inn series. I do think that readers could hop in and enjoy this book even if they haven’t read book one. The author does a good job of filling in enough information to give the reader a background into the characters from the first story. However, these books are definitely fun to read as a series!
I enjoyed seeing what would happen next in the lives of Alice and Seth, along with the main characters Nina and Jackson from the first novel. However, the focus love story in this book is on Dallas and Lorna. Oh what a sweet couple they make.
What Dreams are Made of is a really enjoyable book that has characters of many ages and situations, working through their happy times and their troubles in a beautiful setting. Very nice!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

book 2 in the Star Gazer Inn of Corpus Christi Bay series
New beginnings take determination…
Welcome back to Star Gazer Inn. Alice McIntyre’s fresh start after buying the Star Gazer Inn is filling her days, and she’s now ready to open with the help of her best friend Lisa’s culinary skills and uplifting attitude. And her soon-to-be daughter-in-law Nina by her side, too.
And the magic of her new friend and contractor Seth Roark’s tireless attention to detail.
Seth and Alice have both suffered loss, both are starting over, and both are treating this new friendship and attraction they feel toward each other with caution.

This is Alice McIntyre and Seth Roark’s story.
This is Nina and Jackson McIntyre’s story.
This is Dallas McIntyre and Lorna Jordan and baby Landon’s story.
Alice McIntyre stood at the large window of her Star Gazer Inn, her dream— her new dream after having lost the love of her life in a tragic accident two years earlier. Standing there now gazing out at the blue water of Corpus Christi Bay, her thoughts were an odd mixture of both sadness and excitement. Soon, the doors of this inn would open and the first of her guests would arrive, so she should be elated.
Soon, the doors of this inn would open and the first of her guests would arrive, so she should be elated. But she had worked hard the last several months getting it ready for this point, both to open and move forward toward a new future, while letting the sadness of losing her sweet husband, William, settle into a part of her heart.
Dallas McIntyre had arrived in town the day before and strode to the side entrance of his mom’s inn with the intention of surprising her. Keeping his injured arm close to his body, he walked around the edge of the large bed-and-breakfast and restaurant.
But her other three sons Jackson, Tucker, and Riley all worked together to make sure that the McIntyre Cattle Ranch and Enterprises ran smoothly and was a legacy that they wanted to keep up in their dad’s memory.
I highly recommend reading.
WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF by Debra Clopton is a wonderful well written 5 star book.

What Dreams are made of by Debra Clopton
Star Gazer Inn of Corpus Christi Series Book Two
Dallas McIntyre hears a woman’s screams on the beach when he visits his mom’s inn. What he finds on that beach changes his life. Forever.
Lorna Jordan is alone and would have never taken a walk on the beach if she’d known her baby boy would want to come and greet the world a few weeks early. Thankfully, a knight in shining armor appeared to rescue this damsel in distress out of nowhere.
This series focuses somewhat on one particular couple, but not completely. It also has the POV from others. Like Alice McIntyre, a widowed mother of four sons who have decided to move forward and open the Star Gazer Inn. A B&B and a restaurant. Seth Roark had remodeled the inn, and he and Alice, who both lost their spouses, have a background romance. Lisa, the chef, is still recovering from her ugly divorce. Not trusting men as she had no clue what a skunk her husband was. Jackson and Nina’s story continues from book one. Also Riley, another brother who helped a girl at a gas station but never learned her name. Wonderful series.

We are back in Corpus Christi Bay with widow Alice McIntyre who owns the new inn and the stories of her sons.
Alice’s son Dallas, a bull rider, is at a crossroads in his career after an injury. He decides to visit his mother when he hears a cry at the beach. As he runs to see what was happening, he encounters a woman in labor. Scared but determined to help her, he takes her to the inn where assistance is immediately provided. But even as she is taken to the hospital, Dallas knows there is a connection there and goes to visit her. Later helping her with her ranch.
Little did either know that their first meeting would change their lives forever. Will they find their HEA?
Meanwhile, Alice’s heart seems to be taken and RIley, one of her sons, is ready to enter a new phase in his life. This all leaves the reader wanting to read what’s in store for all these characters.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I adore this series! I love books that focus on different family members and this one does that, plus a best friend! Alice is the main character but so are her sons and her best friend. The lives of these people are so interesting and held my interest through the whole book. This book picks up where the last one left off, which is Alice is getting ready to open her Inn and Lisa, her best friend, is the chef. Alice is still struggling as a widow but has met Seth, also a widower, and they are becoming closer. Alice’s 4 sons are so amazing! Each is doing something different with their lives but they treat Alice like every mom would love to be treated! This book focuses more on Dallas who was injured in the rodeo so comes home to recuperate. He hears a woman scream on the beach so goes to rescue her and she is going into labor! This is Lorna and he then takes a special interest in Lorna and her baby after that. The two of them were so cute together. Another son, Jackson, is getting ready to get married so wedding prep is going on. So many fun and interesting things going on but also struggles. I loved the dynamics of everyone and how they worked things out. Can’t wait for the next book!
Loved catching up with Alice and the gang. We get to know Dallas and Lorna. The Inn is about to open and things are changing for several people fast. Romance is brewing between more than one couple. Great ending. Can’t wait to read the next in this series. I am really intrigued by Lisa’s story – hope she gets her own book.
This book picks up where the first book ended – with Alice working toward the opening of the Star Gazer Inn and restaurant. Her friend Lisa is the chef and is busily putting the finishing touches on the menu. In the meantime, Alice’s son Dallas has come home to recuperate from a shoulder injury he suffered while riding a bull. Little did he know that a woman he meets on the beach near his Mom’s inn would turn out to be a factor as he ponders the future. And then there is also the wedding for Jackson and Nina, provided they can find a date that works with both of their busy schedules.
It was great to read about the next chapter in the McIntyre family lives, including Alice’s friends. The love and caring between the brothers, and for their mother, is shown in many ways in this story. I’m looking forward to the next book.
