When Alaysha’s father orders her to use her power to slaughter an entire village, she begins to question his authority and her own blind obedience. Her defiance peels back a shade that has kept a world of intrigue and latent powers buried for eons–and hints that she might be the key to unlocking its secrets. Now the fate of … fate of that world is in her hands.
If only she can withstand the men who would use her power for their own greedy means, she just might live to see it.

This was a 3.5 star read… possibly a 4 star had it hooked me in more.
This was a character driven coming of age story.
This book was very well written and the created world and characters were very good.
But as I said it didn’t quite hook me as much as I’d hoped.
I do want to know more… especially what will happen between Alaysha and her …
will await the next in the series to write a more extensive review, Being an HONEST reviewer. i got this free copy as an ARC reader promising to give a review, This book is rather wordy and there is a twist at the end,i give no spoilers . The main character is definitely evolving .
The Water Witch by Thea Atkinson is a unique magical world that I enjoyed reading about. Alaysha is feared because of her magical gift and also tired of being used because of it’s the story was a little slow getting into it, but am looking forward to continuing the story!
AMAZING! A fantastic, well written read. An intense storyline that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and hot chemistry. Plenty of excitement and emotionally heartfelt. A thrilling must read.
“I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.”
It took me awhile to get into this book, but it turned out to be interesting. Interested in seeing where it leads. It is the first in a series and does end in a cliffhanger.
This was a keep you on your toes action packed book, once I started reading I couldn’t put it down because I had to know what happened next. I saw the characters as if they were standing right in front of me and as if I was in the book living the story. Very well written and detailed storyline but the ending wasn’t my cup of tea because I …
It took a bit to get into this world but once I did it was enthralling! I would like to see Yuri brought down and Alaysha obtain her independence. I can’t wait to see where all this leads!

Alaysha has been doing what her father has asked of her for her entire life. Being a Water Witch, what he asks is always to annihilate his so-called enemies. Then Alaysha finds out the last few eradications she has been doing are actually removing the entire clan of her mother and herself. And that does not sit well. This story has action, a …
Our heroine has a great power but no idea how to control it, so she has become a tool for others. It is time to change that.
This is book one of the series, so a good place to start.
This book is a sword and sorcery fantasy story. The story is well written and easy to read, with one draw back. Unfortunately, that flaw is our heroine, who is …
Water Witch is such an intriguing and dark world. The MC Alaysha has lived a harsh life with so many obstacles. Well Written and evolving world. I enjoyed this book, and while I am not a fan of the cliff hanger (why it’s is only 4.5 stars and not 5) I would be very interested in reading the next book Blood Witch to see the next step towards completion. Alaysha just breaks my heart. So alone, but so deserving of someone to care for her. I only hope …
