A story of survival, humor and true love. And zombies.*****The series is now complete! So Long, Lollipops (Book 1.5 – novella): http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ILKGJ6UAnd After (Book 2): http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KBWPHA0All the Stars in the Sky (Book 3): http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SW4K268*****Cassie Forrest isn’t surprised to learn that the day she’s decided to get her life together is also the day … decided to get her life together is also the day the world ends. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents died: she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too.
This is difficult enough, but Cassie’s tag along ex-boyfriend and her friend’s bratty sister have a knack for making everything, even the apocalypse, more unpleasant. When the two attract a threat as deadly as the undead to their safe haven, Cassie’s forced to see how far she’ll go to protect those she loves. And it’s a lot farther than she’d anticipated. This, coupled with Adrian’s distant voice on Safe Zone Radio and, of course, the living dead, threaten to put Cassie right back into the funk she just dragged herself out of.
Survival’s great and all, especially when you have leather armor, good friends and home-brewed beer, but there’s something Cassie must do besides survive: tell Adrian she still loves him. And to do that, Cassie has to find faith that she’s stronger than she thinks, she’s still a crack shot and true love never dies.

The BEST series of books I’ve read in FOREVER! Can’t wait for the next one to come out!
It was one of those books where you hate to see it end. I hope to be able to read the books that follow it. Dr Petro
An entertaining series that unfolds at a nice pace…you want to keep reading!
very enjoyable read
It was a good read, but as a fan of post-apocalyptic stories I felt the ending was just too pat
Love it! Couldn’t read it fast enough! Couldn’t wait to read each book in the series.
Clearly inspired by “The Walking Dead”. Since I am a fan of the show, I enjoyed it.
Sarah creates real characters you feel you’ve known too. You want to know about their hopes, their fears, their mistakes, their triumphs, their gaffes, their bad moods, their joys, their tragic ends or survival. When the zombie apocalypse comes, hope for such companions (we’ll, most of them)! Read the series, and the City (Brooklyn) series too, …
Very good book.
Wow! It’s not just another apocalypse/zombie story…it’s so much more. It starts off nice and easy with getting to know some very likable main characters pretty well…and BAM!!! You’re in it, hook, line and sinker. There was a lot of story going on that made the zombies seem like the backstory. I laughed, got tense, and cried quite a bit. And …
Very enjoyable I really liked reading this book.
NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. THIS AN APPOCALYPTIC READ WITH PLENTY OF ACTION AND KEPT ME AT THE EDGE OF MY SEAT.
Love how characters meet the new challenging world.
Another end of the world story, but if you like zombies, & humans trying to survive in a world turned upside down this the book for you
Raced through all four books and the one novella that comprised this series. I love this genre, but the field was getting crowded enough to where each new book/author left me with a “same ol’, same ol’ ” feeling, until I read these. Reading about the apocalypse from a woman’s point of view is terrific, if this author is an example! Funny and …
I loved this book and can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series! Hit all the right spots for me – original story, fantastic characters and it’s a page turner.
I’m not the biggest “zombie” genre fan but thoroughly enjoyed this story, the characters. I have already purchased the following 2 books in the series and am deep into the second book now. Great story, great characters!
Enjoyable read. Kept me turning pages.
Great series anout the human spirit!
Loved this book from beginning to end
