The twelve-year rampage of “Missoula Mauler” Wayne Nance, the serial sex killer who terrorized Montana—and the shocking end to his murder spree. To his neighbors, Wayne Nance, a furniture mover from Missoula, Montana, appeared to be an affable, considerate, and trustworthy guy. No one knew that Nance was the “Missoula Mauler,” a psychopath responsible for a series of sadistic sex slayings that … sex slayings that rocked the idyllic town between 1974 and 1986.
Nance’s only requirement for murder was accessibility—a preacher’s wife, a teenage runaway, a female acquaintance, a married couple. Putting on a friendly façade, he could easily gain his victims’ trust. Then, one September night, thirty-year-old Nance pushed his luck, preying on a couple who lived to tell the tale.
A true story with an incredible twist, written by former Wall Street Journal editor John Coston and complete with photos, To Kill and Kill Again reveals the disturbing compulsions of a charming serial killer who fooled everyone he knew, stumped the authorities, terrified a community, and very nearly got away with it.

Easy read, and definitely a page turner. This was a book that held my interest. I was drawn to pick it up to see what happens next. Good true story with a good ending.
This book is about a killer in Montana who got killed by 2 would be victims. However, he killed 4 other women.
Good read!
I read this on the recommendation of a woman whose mother lived next door to the guy. She said he had a lot of girlfriends, but he didn’t have any of them for very long. That was a chiiling thought.
Very well-written and frightening in that NAnce was able to kill as many as he did before being killed by his intended victims.
There were times when it was difficult to remember who was who and when they had first appeared, or in what context they had joined the cast of characters in this book.
The story lacked continuity as it went back in time on a dime at various points along the way. I feel certain it would be difficult to write this story on a straight timeline, however, I think that with a bit more effort the flow would have been easier to follow.
I feel this is an important story that needs to be shared. The most meaningful message, to me, is that there were so many people that had insight into just how dangerous Wayne Nance truly was, even when he was young. Fortunately, not all of them subscribed to the “Boys will be boys.” mentality that excuses bad behavior as being acceptable and/or amusing. Personally, I find it to be neither. Ever!
Very well written true crime story. Would definitely read another one by same author.
Confusing at times. Some detectives are smart and persistent. In this case everyone had advance notice of what the killer was like even before the first murder.
An interesting procedural look at a little known serial killer. The end of his career as a murderer is certainly unique in my reading on the subject. Well worth a read.
Interesting book set in Montana about a serial killer. Hard to believe the cruelty of some humans and how long it took to catch the killer.
Well written
It’s no Ann Rule.
This is a true story that occurred in my town. A story that will make you look more carefully at ordinary people you meet, and teach you the importance of being alert and cautious.
Good read for those of us who read true crime.
This book just dragged on and on and on.
An extremely good book. Excellent writing.
Such a tragically haunting true story of a very sick individual. One of the saddest things about this story is that if law enforcement had communicated with others in nearby towns, this sicko could have been stopped much earlier & reduced his death count.
Good read.
It was good although the subject is not pleasant!! Easy to read for the most part, but a little jumpy.
From the very beginning I found grammatical and spelling mistakes that did not help to keep my attention.
