A riotously funny, emotionally raw New York Times bestselling novel about love, marriage, divorce, family, and the ties that bind—whether we like it or not. The death of Judd Foxman’s father marks the first time that the entire Foxman clan has congregated in years. There is, however, one conspicuous absence: Judd’s wife, Jen, whose affair with his radio- shock-jock boss has recently become … has recently become painfully public. Simultaneously mourning the demise of his father and his marriage, Judd joins his dysfunctional family as they reluctantly sit shiva and spend seven days and nights under the same roof. The week quickly spins out of control as longstanding grudges resurface, secrets are revealed and old passions are reawakened. Then Jen delivers the clincher: she’s pregnant…
“Often sidesplitting, mostly heartbreaking…[Tropper is] a more sincere, insightful version of Nick Hornby, that other master of male psyche.”—USA Today

Excellent author. The book is hilarious in parts but thought provoking as well.
It was pretty slow going but still lightly entertaining
Funny, moving
Way to crude for my taste. Did not finish it.
This book managed to horrify me at times and at the same time bust out laughing! Enjoyed much!
I enjoyed this book from page one all the way to the end. There were so many poignant interactions among family members. So very relatable
Intelligently written with honest sibling humor.
Love Jonathan Troppers books, they are so relatable and so funny-can read them over and over. One of my very favorite authors!
Funny, mad, sad ,loving. All wrapped up in a family you won’t forget or stop cheering for.
Poignant and hilarious at the same time.
The characters were interesting and the story line intriguing. I laughed out loud at times, and was thoroughly wrapped up in the happenings involving this dysfunctional family.
Saw the movie awhile back and loved it, especially Jason Bateman. Book was just as good and the characters were very believable and sympathatic. Left me wanting to know if couples relationship survives. Guess I will never know.
I loved this book from the beginning. Sad at times but always pretty funny.
Love this author and this book is one of his best!
Best book I have read in a long time. Wonderful writing – realistic characters – real life issues – described in ways we only wish we could describe our own issues. I will look for everything else this author has written. Wow.
A laugh your ass off read from the first page to the last!
This book was great. I enjoyed the characters. Doesn’t make me feel so bad about my disfunctional family. Recommend.
An extremely funny novel with some excellent realism. The ending is a little contrived, but still worth reading. The movie version was actually very good, also.
The only thing I didn’t like was the ending that left you hanging. A fast read that was hysterical and heartbreaking at the same time.
