Salinger is the hidden gem of the harem!
Book 3 in the Wife Lottery series gets a 4.5 stars from me. I have to say, I thought Salinger would be at the bottom of the list with Huxley in terms of my favorite of the guys, but boy was I wrong. Salinger definitely surprised me and I really did connect with him in this book (and it continued for the rest of the series, he was in my top 3 of the guys ). Not giving too much away, Tia and her men have to go through some tough things in Book 3, some that will grab your heart and twist it a bit, but it all ends up ok in the end!). I was worried my favorite wasn’t going to make it or come back super injured, but thank goodness he was found safely, albeit traumatized after his ordeal. I also loved how Salinger became Tia’s rock and confidant, what a pleasant surprise. Loved how sweet, caring, and loyal he was, he is a huge asset to this family and a good man for Tia. Banks was a total a-hole in this book, thank goodness he get’s his story next so we can learn more about him and hopefully things go better for him and Tia. She will help break down his walls so he can learn to be a human (instead of so robotic). The plot and tension picks up its pace in book 3, great flow. Questions are answered, but more pop up that will be answered in books 4 and 5.
In terms of the narration, I thought this one was an improvement over book 2. I believed the male performance so much, how he was standing up to his parents, letting some of his walls down with Tia, and his love and devotion to her. Gonna go dive into Banks’ story next!
I loved this series. I read these books before covid hit. It’s a bit scary in a way. It makes you stop and think could something like this really happen????
What can I say other than I love this series!! Just when you think you know what is going to happen next the story twists and we get a surprise. In this book we learn more about Salinger and his parents. They are not what I expected but now we know why Salinger is the way he is. Tia and Salinger’s relationship grows and they learn each other’s secrets which brings them closer together. Great writing, dual point of views, amazing characters, drama, suspense and a unique storyline make this a 5-star read! I am so looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
No More Secrets!
This series getting better and better, Tia is in love with all her husbands and they are all in love with her, although Banks is still iffy. Salinger finally stands up to his father the Director and the creator of the Wife Lottery in defense of his wife. He knows her true identity and accepts her for who she is, not where she came from. But will her other husbands accept her big secret as easily as Salinger, or will they turn her over to the man at the door.
Can it be that a father will use his only daughter as a guinea pig either as punishment for the death of his love at childbirth, or could it be that the love of a father would push him to obsess about a future for his daughter, in a world were womankind is doomed to extinction?
This is third book in the series and definitely require reading the other two for storyline to make sense. The story maintains enjoyability and ends in cliffhanger. Will definitely read the next in the series.
4.5
The Wife Gamble was a wonderful addition to this series. Tia and Salinger finally open up to each other in this book. It was nice to see the brick wall Salinger carefully placed around his heart crumble to pieces as he learns more about Tia and bonds with her. I liked learning more about Salinger’s past and how it influenced the man he is. The ending of story was a surprise that even now has me thinking of all the possible outcomes. I can’t wait to read Bank’s book and find out what happens next.
