The world ended and with it so did the rules.I was stolen from my family and raised in the Wastelands to the North. I did what I had to ensure my survival. I became The Champion, with my history carved into my skin for all to see.Now I spend my days drinking and hiding from my past until four newcomers offer me a job I can’t refuse. When my past and future mix I must once again rise and fight. … rise and fight. This time it’s not for my freedom, it’s for my happiness.
18+ Reverse Harem Romance. Warning this book contains scenes and references of abuse that some readers may find triggering.

I really like this book. I really like these characters. I really like Taz. I was unsure at first, I went off a recommendation from a FB group but I decided to read it anyway and I was not disappointed. This world is cruel, rough, survival of the deadliest. It can be dark and I know that I will only let myself be emotionally invested in Taz and her men. No one else is getting my love because I have no clue if the author will decided to off them or not. This world is dangerous and I love it. I don’t really care for post-apcolypic books but I will make an exception for this series.
Overall: 4/5
Very intriguing. Excellent read.
The Wasteland is dark, soulful and violent…. I’m left completely reeling after those final pages. The world this author has built is almost hard to look into, because it makes you question the ‘what ifs’ of our future within the human race, while showing the ability for redemption in every action. K.A Knight is brilliant! I absolutely love it.
I generally don’t go for dystopians but I’ve gotten more appreciative of them the last few years. “Give me a hero and I’ll write you a tragedy” is a term that comes to mind for this book. I loved it and hope for more, but I also have no idea what direction the author will choose to take this in when it comes to the final battle (however that will be formed). I like the author’s style of world-building and appreciate the characters.
A wild ride through a post-Apocalyptic world. Worth is tough, but underneath her tough exterior, she has demons that haunt her. Looking forward to seeing where the next book takes us!
This was by far one of the best books I have read. First, Taz is one badass woman!!! She has so many layers and I love love love how Knight did not make her wimpy after falling for her guys. I also just love how each guy is as crazy and loving as she is. They literally do not feel immasculatd when they know that Tax can take them all. She is the leader of this group and they trust and accept her as such.
Oh my and it was hot as hell all the fighting and tension you felt from the book. I could t pick one guy that was better, Jax, Drax, Maxen or Thorn. Dray is great also. I just love all of these characters and how Knight made them all so well rounded. The world building was also phenomenal. This is like Mad Max on steroids and you feel yourself totally immersed in their world. Action from start to finish, and that ending… WTF…lol
No spoilers, just stop reading this review and read the book!!! Knight, if you read this reviews please hurry up with the next book!!! I’m anxiously waiting. You have made me a fan after this one.
This book is unapologetically dark, violent and scorching hot. If was a nail biter my nails would be gone. I got sucked into the story and finished in one setting. Now I have the book hangover from Hell to deal with. Oy. I’m desperate for the next book in the series to come out.
I highly recommend the first book in a series that will be a reread series for me.
Disclaimer: I’m not a fan of dystopian. I loved the Wasteland. This book made me change my mind on this genre.
Now that we’ve established that this isn’t a normal genre read for me, let me tell you why I loved it. See, I have this thing, I absolutely LOVE strong female leads. And the FMC is a total badass. The book opens strong and the first chapter is like, “BOOM.” *mic drop*
Meeting the guys was a fun experience. But they were ballsy. I had some reservations about them in the beginning, but they grew on me. I haven’t decided who I liked more – Jax or Maxen. But then again, there’s Dray. Now he’s a character I want to get to know more. He’s a little bit evil, and I have a thing for villains. I’m not saying he’s a villain, but he’s dangerous.
PROS:
– Badass characters
– Character development
– Dray, cuz I’m single-minded sometimes
CONS:
– There’s a cliffy here, so prepare to scream NOOOOOO when your kindle stops turning pages at the end.
– Not enough Dray, because again, single-minded sometimes.
OVERALL:
This was a great book to pop my dystopian cherry. And it’s RH so that’s a plus. There’s tons of action that leads up to that dramatic ending. I can’t wait to see book 2.

Trigger warning: this is a dark dystopian RH. If you are bothered by these themes do not read. The main character Worth has gone through tremendous trials in her life and meeting her men each presents another challenge. This is filled with action, adventure, and tremendous growth. The author pulled me in and didn’t let up until the last page. I’m excited to see where the story goes next.
This is the debut book from this author, and I’ve been meaning to read it for awhile. It’s a dystopian novel with some darker elements, like abuse. There aren’t super graphic descriptions in this book, but it’s definitely hinted at that the protagonist has not had an easy life of it. As easy a life as you get with dystopian novels, anyway. As a first novel, I was really impressed. I did question the main character’s reactions to the love interests (reverse harem, hello, more than one) based on her history, but this actually got outright addressed in the book, and done in a way that fit the novel. After that, it didn’t bother me as much. The story was definitely entertaining and drew me in, and the protagonist makes you want to know more about her and this land she’s survived in. I felt like we haven’t learned tonnes about the love interests, but first book. Plus, I feel like it’s more urban fantasy and the romance takes a back seat to the rest of the story. Well, not a back seat, but it’s not all swooning and sex, and there’s other stuff going on. Overall, I’m looking forward to the next one, and every other book the author has right now.
Be forewarned, there are some themes in this book which could be a trigger.
I love the dystopian storyline of this book, and its characters. It’s is crazy intense, and at times dark as hell. But the MC, Worth, is the badass we all love to see in a lead character. Created from the darkest and most depraved of backgrounds, she has come out on top and is feared!
I do think this book could have majorly benefitted from more dialogue between the characters. Even at halfway through the book, there was barely any dialogue between them and yet Worth was starting to feel things for them. Which didn’t make sense to me, it sort of seemed to come out of nowhere. It made it difficult to really find the relationships as being more than basic friendship. Most of the book consists of the internal dialogue of Worth. So it’s all fairly one sided perspective, which is normally fine, except it’s not balanced out with actually dialogue between the characters. I will say that maybe the last 20% of the book had a little bit more dialogue.
I am definitely looking forward to the next book. The cliffhanger has me hooked!
