From New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery…In this modern-retelling of “Beauty and the Beast,” Savannah Carmichael, betrayed by an unreliable source, returns to her hometown of Danvers, Virginia with her once-promising journalism career in ruins. Given the opportunity to get back in the game by writing a patriotic human interest piece, Savannah turns her attention to the town hermit, … town hermit, Asher Lee, a wounded veteran who returned to Danvers eight years ago, and hasn’t been seen since.
After an IED explosion in Afghanistan took Asher’s hand and disfigured half of his face, he’s lived a quiet life on the outskirts of Danvers where the locals respect his privacy…that is, until Savannah Carmichael comes calling in a borrowed sundress with a plate of homemade brownies. When Asher agrees to be interviewed by Savannah, he starts feeling things for the beautiful reporter that he hasn’t felt in years.
Misfits in small-town Danvers, Savannah and Asher create a bond right away, touching each other’s hearts in ways neither thought possible. When a terrible mistake threatens to drive them apart, they’ll have to decide if the love they found in one another’s arms is strong enough to fight for their hard-won happily ever after.

Not sure how a book can be so H.O.T. with such a slow burn, but wowsies. It kept me up until 4 a.m. Get. It. Now.
I really loved this story. The only complaint, (really just a slight complaint) was that Savannah was definitely not a vixen and the title was a little misleading. I think I fell a little in love with Asher Lee, and this was one story that I was sad to see end.
Unexpected but I loved the story, the dialogue, and the ending. Will definitely try the author’s other books.
Awesome book! I couldn’t put it down
Good story line about a disfigured veteran and a really good writer who got fired. She wasn’t smart enough to protect her writing.
Excellent storytelling! I felt the angst of the characters, along with their (long-time-coming) joy. Can’t wait to read more by this author.
Loved it! Great story…
Cute story about two strong willed people who really fall in love–hard.
I enjoyed this book overall. Sometimes the language used by the mother and sister seemed stereotyped.
This was such a good story. It held my interest through the whole book, which is not easily done.
I picked this book up because I really love Beauty and the Beast modernizations, and this one had potential for sure. It is about a man who is physically scarred from war wounds and has PTSD. He has holed himself up in his house until one day a girl comes along and makes him want to live again.
I didn’t realize this book would be insta-love on …
There were quite a few steamy parts which I skipped over
I really enjoyed this book but found some of the language was super old school which totally threw me off for example, “he took her virtue” aka he took her virginity. I know the author was really trying to portray an old southern town but sheesh—I almost wondered if the author was in her 70’s…
Overall I really did enjoy this book!
I loved this book. It brought me to tears. It was pure love.
As heartwrenching as it is heartwarming this story grabs your attention and won’t let go. A beautiful love story with a lot of heat.
I loved this book. The characters were wonderful.
The best Beauty and the Beast rendition I’ve read. This was a beautiful love story with interesting relatable characters and a unique plot. Loved the way this one unfolded.
Why on earth I was convinced The Vixen and the Vet was about a veterinarian I’ve no idea! And even though it had no animals at all (not even a cute puppy) I really enjoyed this book.
The story is simple, very sweet, with some hot hotness here and there. I enjoyed both characters’ journeys and the development of their relationship. You could …
This story was a well written take on Beauty and the Beast that will grab your heart and keep squeezing it until the end. It has all the feels that you expect in a good romance read, and it will keep you enthralled from beginning to end.
I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway – thank you Katy! It was a wonderful surprise to see that I won and a …
It’s very difficult to turn a fairy tale into a modern day romance. However, I just finished the 3rd book in the fairy tale series and I am awestruck. I can’t imagine serving my country and seeing unspeakable things and then coming home with a limb missing and severe scarring. I really can’t stand the fact that a small town turns their back on a …
