NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • “A briskly paced, terrifically suspenseful work that steadily builds toward a tense and terrifying climax.”—People (Page-turner of the week)This ebook edition contains a special preview of Tess Gerritsen’s I Know a Secret. He slips into homes at night and walks silently into bedrooms where women lie sleeping, about to awaken to a living nightmare. The precision of his … about to awaken to a living nightmare. The precision of his methods suggests that he is a deranged man of medicine, prompting the Boston newspapers to dub him “The Surgeon.” Led by Detectives Thomas Moore and Jane Rizzoli, the cops must consult the victim of a nearly identical crime: Two years ago, Dr. Catherine Cordell fought back and filled an attacker before he could complete his assault. Now this new killer is re-creating, with chilling accuracy, the details of Cordell’s ordeal. With every new murder he seems to be taunting her, cutting ever closer, from her hospital to her home. And neither Moore nor Rizzoli can protect Cordell from a ruthless hunter who somehow understands—and savors—the secret fears of every woman he kills.

Love Tess can’t say enough just read if you like intrigue and suspension
This was the book that started my love of Tess Gerritsen’s books. I was given the paperback to this book while I was pregnant. A great way to pass the uncomfortable moments of pregnancy LOL
Mrs. Gerritsen has an uncanny ability to pull you into the story and make you feel a part of it all. The details and descriptions that she’s able to put in them makes you unable to become the characters in each moment. I chewed on my nails and bit my lips as I desperately moved forward with each page wanting to find out what was going to happen.
This is book 1 in the Rizzoli and Isles series. It was a great start and each book gets better and better. Must read series… Must read author!
the rozzile and iles books are a very good and hard to put down untill you get to the end
After reading my first Rizzoli & Isles book–out of sequence–I decided to start at book 1 and work my way through the series. The Surgeon is gripping. I stayed up until 3:30 am to finish it, then I couldn’t sleep! My one and only complaint is with Gerritsen’s portrayal of the detective from Savannah and the secretary from Atlanta. As a Southerner I get hardily sick of seeing us portrayed as as brutish rednecks or cloying belles! Also, anyone from the South who understands the vernacular knows that “y’all” is ALWAYS plural.
Great book, interesting and exciting.
