When the dead can testify, their killers resort to desperate measures
The Remnant Keepers are a loathed group of telepaths, paid to read the last memories of the recently murdered. Jack Winston is one of the best and hates it. Under the scrutiny of the world’s most powerful corporation, Jack is as much a prisoner as those he helps send behind bars.
But when his latest case arrives, Jack’s world … arrives, Jack’s world shatters as his wife is brutally murdered. Fuelled by vengeance, Jack vows to catch the murderer, but as the bodies pile up, Jack realises he’s made a terrible mistake; he was never the hunter, only the hunted.
The Remnant Keeper is the first book of Tombs Rising, part of The Tombs Legacy. If you’re a fan of Torchwood, Stephen King, or The X-Files, then you’ll love a series that combines all of their best traits in a fast-paced, captivating, thrilling adventure.

I can’t find book 2 Help!
I kept reading beyond the first few pages of “Remnant Keeper,” because I was intrigued by the story. I ignored the grammatical errors at first, even though they were so glaring at times it was distracting. The concepts of Robert Scott-Norton’s future world intrigued me, and he was able to bring it to life without a lot of backstory or explanation. After the first two chapters, the action was fast-paced, and tension never let up. After a while, the constant killing and maiming became tiresome. The story moved ahead by eliminating everyone the main character, Jack Winston, cared about. The plot was weak, and the ending, although it was a surprise, was no ending at all. The characters were thinly developed, and I found it difficult to care about any of them. A good editor could have helped the author turn his story into a memorable one. As it is, I found it just barely readable.
Very futuristic but wouldn’t want to read any other
This was a good story, however the ending was rather lame. I guess because I’m supposed to buy the next book to find out how the story turns out. This trend totally annoys me, because most times I don’t enjoy the book enough to pay for a second book. In fact, I’ve gotten to the point that if there is no real ‘ending’, just a ‘see what happens in the next book’ page, I delete the book from my eReader. To me, that just smacks of greed. That’s just my personal opinion. IF a book is good enough, I’ll buy another, if it’s part of a series. The series books I own can be read as stand-alones, which is what got me hooked on them in the first place. Enough about lousy endings/series books.
The main characters are interesting; a few of the ‘bad guys’ were a bit two-dimensional and one even a bit caricatural.
The entire premise is totally unique, at least it was to me, which I enjoyed.
There was enough of a twist in the story to make the entire plot come together like peices of a puzzle falling into place. A well written-mystery with a very exciting ‘reveal’.
It takes a special talent to write a captivating murder mystery; & even more to wrap in into a feasible future, creating a new civilization with different cast, political & legal systems. This story may begin as revolting to some, but is utterly fascinating, twisted & enthralling, with a great lead character.
Interesting premise.
Couldn’t get through it
Although I don’t usually read novels of this genre, I did find the premise interesting and a nice diversion from my usual. I am surprised that I liked it. Good summer reading.
The premise of using dead people’s eyes to see their last view is interesting. The string of events was a little weak. A killer would take the eyes or destroy them if they knew they could be seen. Other than that it was an easy read.
New twist on the telepathy motif. Realistic motivation for the protagonist makes it work.
Very interesting idea and a couple surprise twists towards the end. I enjoyed the characters.
Bleak future imagined here, but well written.
Couldn’t get into it. Very slow.
Set a little bit into the future, but mankind is still beset with bigotry and mob mentality against those who are different, all of which leads to crime. The story holds your interest most of the time but is tragic in seeing love lost from so many relationships.
Starts WAAAY too slowly – I gave up.
The basic concept is just too preposterous. I swallowed it and kept reading, but it kept nagging at me. I would not recommend this book.
Very very original ,becomes believable through very strong character portrayal enjoyed it tremendously
This book starts out with an interesting premise and only gets better.
Very imaginative
Quite an interesting idea. Good read!
