It took me a full week to read this book. I also highlighted 25 sections. Was it because I was bored and couldn’t remember the content? That’s a big NO!!
This book was so erotic to me, I kept having to take breaks to cool off. I found Lisa and Davis so different than the usual married couples you read about in romance novels. Also, having the husband worship the wife the way Davis does Lisa was so refreshing. I loved his attraction to her and his devotion to her and their family. Pick up this book for a little menage fun and feel the love between husband and wife as they open their Anniversary night to a friend who has been unlucky in love. These sex scenes are written so well and so erotically that you will feel like you are participating in their Anniversary night with them. The different POV’s add a whole different feel to this book as well. This book is an awesome read and a present for any reader!
Where anticipation and fantasy can take you…
What to say about this book…?
Hard to believe this is the author’s first full-length novel. It tells of Lisa and Davis, a happily married couple who invite a third person into their relationship as fulfilment of a shared fantasy.
Sounds like a porn plot, right? Patrick Khayler does an amazing job bringing his protagonists to life. The love between Davis and Lisa “leaps off the page”, especially in light of Becky’s less fortunate romantic history. And the eroticism is out of this world. I’ve read my share of erotic romance, but never as well done as this.
So ignore the slightly cheesy cover, this isn’t one of *those* books. Or it is, but it is so much more. Do yourself a huge favour and check it out. You’ll be glad you did. Very, very highly recommended!
Six out of five stars
The Present by Patrick Khayler is the second book I read by by him. Right away I was drawn into the story. I really liked the way the author wrote Dennis and Lisa’s POV. I gained insight into the couple’s thoughts and reactions to one another, family life, and work. I liked the way Mr. Khayler wrote Dennis and Lisa’s backstory of their life together and how it grew into a very beautiful, loving, and trusting relationship. I also felt Becky was a believable character.
This book was very hot and more than steamy. Mr. Khayler definitely knows how to write erotica. I liked the way he balanced the story and the sex scenes. I will definitely read more by this author.
I’m so happy to have discovered Patrick Khayler’s books! This is my first and I was totally blown away by what a page turner it is. We follow Lisa and Davis, a married couple who still have a deep and passionate connection despite many years of marriage and children. Their annual one-up man ship on Valentine’s Day leads to finding a unique present in the form of divorcee Becky. This was a highly descriptive story, without being wordy which drew me in and made me feel as though I was there experiencing it – I wish! Intensely rousing, I recommend having your partner on hand, otherwise some toys or a very cold shower, you’ll need it! Although this is scorching hot what touched me most was the incredible love of the married couple and how they navigated their adventure, simply great writing. More please.
