The One is the third book in The Selection series by Kiera Cass and my favorite one so far. I adore America and the other characters in the world Cass has created. The One is a wonderful mix of romance, politics, action, and adventure. It has a little bit of everything I enjoy reading about all in one entrancing book.
Love this books so much and I read the whole collection within a month
I love this book! I wish it could just keep going throughout Maxon’s and America’s life. Totally a must-have book.
Out of the entire series, this one was my favorite. When I think of love, I think of America and Maxon. I won’t spoil it, but there is one quote from Maxon that will stay with me forever. I cried, and laughed and cheered with America and the other characters in the book. Finding love is never easy, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth it.
What drew me to this book was the cover. As someone who bases her book shopping decisions on the cover, I bought this book on a whim one day and didn’t realize I had to read the first two books in the series. I didn’t regret it though and also bought the other books including the one featuring her daughter!
Sigh. YES. That was such a satisfying ending!!!
For all the back-and-forth of the love triangle, this book wraps it all up nicely. America seems steady. Decided. There are of course moments where the tension of misunderstanding looms, and I HATE that, but it doesn’t last long. And the way it’s done really makes the climax that much more satisfying.
I also love the fact that the rebels come front-and-center in this one, making the story so much more than an episode of The Bachelor. America not only earns Maxon’s love and respect, but the nation’s as well. Her character helps him to recognize what really matters, and how he can use his power to benefit the country.
Enemies become friends, good triumphs over evil, the bad guys get theirs, and the declaration of love is everything is should be. Very, very worth reading!
I absolutely love this book and I wish they would make a movie out of it. It makes me know that there is love out there waiting for me and that I will have my own happily ever after despite the struggles. I’m hope she continues making these books and makes a movie out of it.
I love how the story ended (so far). The twists and turns had me constantly wondering how it would turn out. Anne and Amberly made me sad as well as America’s Father. I was shocked by the revelation for Kriss and what happened to Celeste. I am proud of how America and Maxon handled everything to the very end. I will be getting on to the rest but maybe not right away. I really want to read the Novellas first.
I enjoyed this book very much. I became obsessed with the series and couldn’t wait to see how it ended. It was never boring and had a lot more action which I wasn’t expecting. I plan on reading the next book in the series.
This was a rollicking good read, slickly paced and sassily written.
I still need more.
This book broke my heart and put it back together so many times. It was amazing and easy to read, but so hard to put down. If you read it, you won’t regret it!
The third book in The Selection series did not disappoint.
If you enjoyed The Selection and The Elite, you’ll find The One to be a great conclusion to America and Maxon’s story.
While I expected the dystopian element to play a larger part in things, this series is definitely more of a romance than anything else. I thought I had the ending figured out, but while there is an HEA, the way it played out was shocking. The action really ramped up, which made for a page-turning ending.
This series is a great little mindless read. It’s fun and entertaining and a fun escape.
This was defiantly my favorite book out of the series!
It’s an amazing book always has twists I’m not going to say anymore
Once again, Cass did not disappoint! And once again I devoured another book by her. I started this series thinking that it would just be okay, but I was shocked to find out that I love it! This series found it’s way into my heart and onto my top 10 favorite series ever list! My usual books involve vampires, werewolves, or some other paranormal creature. These books just involved a girl and a guy with some not so normal circumstances.
I don’t know what to say about what happens in the book, because I definitely don’t want to give anything away. One thing is for sure though, America is just as fierce and brave as ever. She is not afraid to stand up for what she thinks is right, even if that means she will have to face the consequences of her actions. Maxon is one of the sweetest characters I have every met. Some of the things he does and the way he looks at America are so sweet and full of things neither one can articulate. There are so many odds against them, but can they overcome it? Or is Aspen, the rebels, and the king too much?
I loved it!
Having finished this book I have concluded that The Selection could have been two books or even one book. I’m not completely sure how I was able to finish this book. This was pretty much of the same exasperating storyline as the second book. America is so unbelievably insecure that she runs crying or isolates herself to cope with the pain. Sorry America, Maxon is allowed to like and have feelings for other girls, he is looking for a wife and you just keep pushing him away and hurting him. Also I hate the way you keep Aspen on the backburner in case things don’t work out with Maxon. You are a terrible person. I hate the way you act all self-righteous when really you act like a child and have the nerve to get angry at Maxon. Not only that, I hate that you turn into a cruel person and will strike down anyone who tries to talk you into doing the right thing, but you rather not face it because you worry more about how will harm your chances of having Maxon as your husband.
This book fell apart and lost its purpose.
But despite all the I liked that we get to know the rebels a lot more. The end was pretty good.
I have no desire to read the next book, especially since its not just one book. I think I have complained enough.
I love this series!!!
I already read 3 chapters of the book and I am captivated only problem is it literally says read books for free and then I get here and it says buy book
It was a very romantic book. I loved the plot of it. I especially love the idea of Maxo n and America insteadnof Aspen and America. I also like the part when Maxon said, “I think we could’ve dodged all those obstacle, but i also think that’s what made my love for you run more deeply” also, “Break my heart. Break it a million times. It was only ever yours to Break.” Omg that was my favorite line. So yeah that’s what I think of this book.
