This book is so revelant to what is happening in our world today. You can feel the racism in the storyline all because a little black girl was hit by a car driven by a white man that was driving while intoxicated. This southern town was so racially divided because of this accident and outsiders that came to protest that the man was not locked up in jail while waiting on his trial. Then you have the Mayor who doesn;t want to get involved and has his head person Kline who is black to handle the problem. In the meantime Kline’s fiancée is having a affair with Dex a white attorney that is representing the defendants case. The little girls mother Channing is trying to stay out of interviews and protesting of what happened to her daughter. Then Kline’s college buddy comes to town from Boston and is a newspaper reported to write about what is happening. Kline and Channing has a mutual attraction for each other.
I could feel the emotions of the characters of love, hate, anger, compassion, sadness. This book really held my attention from the very first page until the end.
If you like interracial romance, drama, and a good page turner, I highly recommend this book. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Yes, this is a romance, but I found the way Stacy-Deanne addressed the issue of racism to be one of the finest approaches I’ve ever seen. It’s a person’s character (not the color of their skin) that matters. She gave excellent examples of this. And, as always, Stacy-Deanne knows how to weave a story where you’re not sure how things are going to go. I always like that about her books. Plenty of twists and turns along the way.
A new Author to me and this book was one I was not putting down until I had finished it. It is well written and worth reading. One little black girl Presley and white man Nate Lancaster who runs her down while he is intoxicated will be the cause of a town that almost riots over it. Her mother Channing will fall for Anderson Abraham, a white reporter from Boston when he comes to town to do a story on the incident in order to help Presley get justice. There is suspense, drama, danger, racism, anger,a man who will do anything to cause trouble for the black people, and romance. This touching story that draws out racial prejudice in the south. Presley is run over and left in a coma that erupts the racial tension of the southern town. When both sides are put up against the other, will the little girl who is at the forefront become a victim of the times to push the agendas of others? This emotional rollercoaster will have you on the edge of your seat with all the drama and fallout.

Th storyline of Anderson and Channing was pretty good. I liked that he was kind of normal, not described as overly handsome like most stories. It was a welcome change. I hated The Dex, Sonjay, and Klein storyline. The people in Klein’s life (his supposed friends) failed him. I found him m and that situation sad. Overall it was ok.
