I liked this book very much. Yasmin is a smart, feisty new lawyer that finds the holes in an important case & wins. Of course, her attraction to the opposing lawyer causes her problems. Does love win out? You have to read to find out.
This is my first M.K. Lansbury book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The main characters are well written, interesting and complicated characters. The writing itself was well done and the surrounding cast of characters helped move the story along. Humor, angst, romance … all the elements of an excellent story leading to the all important HEA. Highly recommend 🙂
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest review.
I received an ARC of this book from the author, M.K. Lansbury, via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary and honest review. I enjoyed this romantic comedy about Yaz and Holden, two lawyers on opposing teams. Holden was already a partner in his firm but Yaz was still trying to make partner in her firm. When she was given a divorce case representing the wife and Holden was representing the husband who both owned a tech company, Yaz knew she had to win the case or never make partner. When she met Holden for the first time, she knew her attraction to him would be her downfall. Did she let Holden into her life? Did she win the case and become partner? Did her crazy mixed up family get their act together? You will have to read the book to get the answers. I highly recommend this book and hope you will give this author and this book a chance. It will be worth your time.
Laws of Attraction by MK Lansbury
Yasmin works for a lawyer firm where she puts in 80 hours a week and then some in hope to climb the ladder as a partner.
She’s handed a case and using her own experience she’s able to step up and give them her opinion-being a child going through it. The divorce is quickly solved and she’s due for a day off when she learns her lawyer friend didn’t show up for work the next day…
She visits with her sister Sara and her husband and her mother in IN and upon coming back to Chicago she’s shown into a meeting with the partners where they give her the news she’s been waiting to hear. Depending on her handling of cases she may be the next partner.
Holden Craine is the lawyer she will be going up against in the Smith trial. Mac wants the whole company because it was all her idea and she manual labor that made it a company, Clayton had just come with money to make it happen
til they find out other hidden secrets that gives Mac an edge up.
Between seeing one another more often outside the office to spending time with her family she’s very busy.
Parts I liked the best were the anxiety attacks and how they are handled-so up to date and caring. Big Brothers agency and what that involves and how Yas plays a part in the turnout.
Ending and what happens with the law firm and her family-so many events come together real fast, easy to keep track of them all.
Loved the story line, and how it all came together. Didn’t see all the twists and turns til they happened and
they only enhance the story. Learned so many new words from this book-looked each and every one of them up!
Enjoyed learning about Chicago and nearby towns.
Ideas she has are brilliant to say the least, not only for the law firm but personal things that happen outside the firm.
Have read other works by this author and have loved them and can’t wait to read more because I learn so much.
Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
She wants to make partner and finally gets assigned to an interesting case. Her associate tells her to keep her mouth shut, he doesn’t need her help. She doesn’t like him. Can you guess who she will be attracted too? Could it be opposing counsel? Will this case change her life for good or bad? You can find out easily and enjoy yourself while doing so. I loved my ARC of this book.
I love this book! Well developed characters, well written love story, fun to read. Yazmin is an up and coming attorney in her firm when she meets people who turn her life around. One was a very interesting client and the other was an interesting attorney covering the other case. I can’t wait for the sequel! You’ll love this book, too!
I’ve read several of M.K. Lansbury’s books and this is my absolute favorite. Yasmin is one smart, dedicated, and caring lawyer. Yasmin is the opposing counsel to Holden Crain in the Hello Enterprises co-owner’s divorce case. Yasmin represents Mackenzie and Holden represents Clayton. Holden is known as the Devil of Divorce and is absolutely gorgeous, even more attractive in person than the magazine cover of Chicago Lawyer. Yasmin feels electric sparks with him, but she can’t get involved with the opposing counsel or can she? This book will have you flipping the pages until the end, that’s why I read it in one sitting. I loved all the characters we meet and I loved reading about Yasmin’s background. I won’t leave any spoilers, but if you’re looking for a sweet romance appropriate for all ages, then you won’t go wrong by grabbing this book.
I really Enjoyed this book, it was a verry nice story to read. The characters are amazing.
This should be a Netflix or Hallmark romantic comedy movie!!! A great spin on the “opposites attract” genre. Check it out!
