Ken Follett’s The Key to Rebecca took readers and critics by storm when first published forty years ago. Today, it remains one of the best espionage novels ever written. A brilliant and ruthless Nazi master agent is on the loose in Cairo. His mission is to send Rommel’s advancing army the secrets that will unlock the city’s doors. In all of Cairo, only two people can stop him. One is a … him. One is a down-on-his-luck English officer no one will listen to. The other is a vulnerable young Jewish girl. . . .

One of Follett’s best!
I am a huge fan of Ken Follett. Once again he delivered a great read.
Worth time spent!
Good portrayal of WW 2 in Africa
He is a great writer….enjoyed this book
loved this book—like all of his books I have read—-so beautifully crafted and so wonderfully captivating—recommend it for sure!!!!
Kept my interest, and filled in a bit of history regarding the North African campaigns in WWII. I agree with other reviewers that there was one plot twist toward the end that seemed a bit far-fetched, but I disagree with others who say the sex scenes are too much (they’re not any more graphic than Pillars of the Earth, which everyone seems to agree was Follett’s pinnacle).
Fasinating though not his best. Still it is much better than most other books.
Because I absolutely loved “Pillars of the Earth”, I keep picking up other books by Ken Follett, full of hope–and laying them aside, some finished, some not, full of disappointment. That’s what happened with this novel—it simply didn’t show the style and insight and good research I know Follett is capable of. Shucks.
perfect as are all of Follet
Ken Follett books are always good reads
Another great war novel.
Flows good. I read it years ago. I enjoyed it again
I read this book many years ago, and decided to read it again because I’d forgotten quite a bit of the story. I’m so glad I did! It’s a smart thriller with excellent characters and an intriguing plot. I thoroughly enjoyed it a second time!
WWII thriller set in Cairo by award winning author, Ken Follet. Full of twists & suspense to the last page.
Enjoyable
Ken Follett is a favorite writer. His plots are deep, his characters round and full and complex, his sense of drama is compelling. Read KF.
I normally love this author, but there were too many lurid sexual situations.
Ken Follett delivers a top notch adventure, as he always does. He is my favorite author.
Keeps you guessing until the very end
