“Reluctant vampire saves the day.”
Allie, Lucas, Stick and Rat are literally living (just barely) on the fringe of a world openly ruled by vampires. Horrifically books are forbidden. Oh, and by the way, humans are branded as cattle… (not quite as bad as books being forbidden… horrors…)
It’s a good story overall and well written. Julie …
I’ve read other books by this author and for some reason finally picking up The Immortal Rule was the first time I enjoyed a book by this author from the start. This world intrigued me right away, the society the main character lives in, and her personality in general kept me interested. Not to mention its been a while since I’ve read a book about …
A vampire series. Your first thought might be oh no not another one. But this one is special. For me it solidified that I was a true Julie K fan and that she is a versatile and amazing writer. It was a great read, definitely worth the read!!
Although best known for the “Iron Fey” series, I came upon Julie Kagawa’s writing thru the “Blood of Eden” trilogy. I found book #1 (Immortal Rules) as it first came into bookstores hardcover. The Immortal Rules is a book that will gut you, warm you, and keep you up until 4 a.m. just to get more of Allison’s story.
This entire series gives you EVERYTHING: vampires, unique worldbuilding and social class setting, romance, SUSPENSE. I must’ve read all three books over the course of a few days. If you’re looking for a strong female lead, action packed, adventure, this series is for you.
It plays like an awesome movie in your head. I thought I was done reading vampire stories until I got a hold of this book and it’s main character and unpredictable story hooked me in. Now reading the sequel and it is equally entertaining.
