From the author of the New York Times and USA Today bestselling novel, THE ALICE NETWORK, comes another fascinating historical novel about a battle-haunted English journalist and a Russian female bomber pilot who join forces to track the Huntress, a Nazi war criminal gone to ground in America.
In the aftermath of war, the hunter becomes the hunted…
Bold and fearless, Nina Markova always dreamed of flying. When the Nazis attack the Soviet Union, she risks everything to join the legendary Night Witches, an all-female night bomber regiment wreaking havoc on the invading Germans. When she is stranded behind enemy lines, Nina becomes the prey of a lethal Nazi murderess known as the Huntress, and only Nina’s bravery and cunning will keep her alive.
Transformed by the horrors he witnessed from Omaha Beach to the Nuremberg Trials, British war correspondent Ian Graham has become a Nazi hunter. Yet one target eludes him: a vicious predator known as the Huntress. To find her, the fierce, disciplined investigator joins forces with the only witness to escape the Huntress alive: the brazen, cocksure Nina. But a shared secret could derail their mission unless Ian and Nina force themselves to confront it.
Growing up in post-war Boston, seventeen-year-old Jordan McBride is determined to become a photographer. When her long-widowed father unexpectedly comes homes with a new fiancée, Jordan is thrilled. But there is something disconcerting about the soft-spoken German widow. Certain that danger is lurking, Jordan begins to delve into her new stepmother’s past—only to discover that there are mysteries buried deep in her family . . . secrets that may threaten all Jordan holds dear.
In this immersive, heart-wrenching story, Kate Quinn illuminates the consequences of war on individual lives, and the price we pay to seek justice and truth.

Excellent suspenseful book with some romance.
This is a must read book. Could not wait to finish it but yet did not want to finish it.
It was ok I’ve read better.
I enjoyed THE HUNTRESS as it was a view into the world of WWII. The characters are so believable & genuine. It is a page turner from start to finish. I couldn’t put it down reading far too late!
Love Kate Quinn’s writing. An incredible story. Strongly recommend.
Great respect for these Russian women flyers in WWII.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
Excellent writing and good storyline with very relatable characters. A few scenes seemed unrealistic, especially when the heroine could have ended it all very simply instead of allowing her opportunity to pass. I couldn’t put it down.
Great book for those who enjoy reading historical fiction!
THE HUNTRESS wasn’t at all what I expected! I’d picked it up thinking I’d be sinking into a heavy piece of WWII historical fiction (which would have been fine, too!) but THE HUNTRESS is not heavy it all–it’s fast-paced romantic historical suspense threaded with serious themes…and it was an absolute pleasure to read on the beach.
One of my favorite books! I couldn’t put it down.
Great book! I read this in two sittings
A taut, gripping novel of human courage and the determination to see that justice is served for those who perished and suffered at the hands of the Nazis. Kate Quinn weaves a moving story.
Could NOT put it down! Wonderful story, wonderful characters.
Kate Quinn delivers once again. The Huntress is an intense blend of unusual characters, unusual suspense, and the unusual methods some will use to obtain justice. So well researched, you’ll swear you’re living in the destructive wake of WW2.
As good as The Alice Network. Haunting however.
The characters in this book are pretty unique and well-developed. However, in my opinion, it took a while for the book to hook me on. There are 3 parts to the book and I didn’t get hooked until part 2. Although, from the last 30 pages of part 2 until the end of the book, it definitely became a page turner and I basically finished that range of pages within the hour because it became so thrilling. Overall, I liked how different the characters and story line were from other books, but the start was slow to me
Very disappointing…. couldn’t recommend this book at all. I should’ve stopped at the Alice Network. Story was predictable, her heroine, Nina was just trying too hard, w/that overly inserted, “Adult Themed” story plot that this character seemed like such a cliche. Almost seemed like it was just trying to be relevant. I sorta regret reading this book.
This book has launched Quinn onto my Autobuy list! I loved it even more than The Alice Network!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book and the ending was not quite what I was expecting.
Great pace to story. Revealed complexities of characters and situations
