From the author of the New York Times and USA Today bestselling novel, THE ALICE NETWORK, comes another fascinating historical novel about a battle-haunted English journalist and a Russian female bomber pilot who join forces to track the Huntress, a Nazi war criminal gone to ground in America.
In the aftermath of war, the hunter becomes the hunted…
Bold and fearless, Nina Markova always dreamed of flying. When the Nazis attack the Soviet Union, she risks everything to join the legendary Night Witches, an all-female night bomber regiment wreaking havoc on the invading Germans. When she is stranded behind enemy lines, Nina becomes the prey of a lethal Nazi murderess known as the Huntress, and only Nina’s bravery and cunning will keep her alive.
Transformed by the horrors he witnessed from Omaha Beach to the Nuremberg Trials, British war correspondent Ian Graham has become a Nazi hunter. Yet one target eludes him: a vicious predator known as the Huntress. To find her, the fierce, disciplined investigator joins forces with the only witness to escape the Huntress alive: the brazen, cocksure Nina. But a shared secret could derail their mission unless Ian and Nina force themselves to confront it.
Growing up in post-war Boston, seventeen-year-old Jordan McBride is determined to become a photographer. When her long-widowed father unexpectedly comes homes with a new fiancée, Jordan is thrilled. But there is something disconcerting about the soft-spoken German widow. Certain that danger is lurking, Jordan begins to delve into her new stepmother’s past—only to discover that there are mysteries buried deep in her family . . . secrets that may threaten all Jordan holds dear.
In this immersive, heart-wrenching story, Kate Quinn illuminates the consequences of war on individual lives, and the price we pay to seek justice and truth.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. A very detailed story set in a time I thought I knew a lot about, but apparently didn’t (as the Night Witches were new to me).
A story that has the lives of three unlikely individuals coming together in search of a Nazi criminal called, The Huntress, Ms. Quinn weaves a web so intricate that this book is difficult to put down. If you enjoy female-driven, historical fiction, and a good war story, it’s a sure bet you’ll love this book.
Some people say it was too long, but I would disagree, I wished it were longer (I was bummed it was over when it ended). The narrator was fantastic (I listened to it on audio)! I would highly recommend this book – you can get lost in it.
It’s very easy to understand why this book has more than 5000 reviews. I wish that I could give this book more than 5 stars.
I am in awe of this writer. The detailed research. The rich descriptions of people and places. The blending of fact with fiction. The cliff hanger at the end of the chapter. Like many others I found it difficult to put the book down and kept longing to come back as a witness to the unfolding drama. I finally stayed in bed for four hours to watch the wonderful conclusion.
The story beautifully blends a number of tropes from the hunt across countries for the Nazi criminal, a marriage of convenience becomes a marriage of love, the potentially evil stepmother and the search for fulfillment in life – told through the eyes of Jordan Bridge.
Bravo Kate Quinn. I look forward to reading more.
The type of book you won’t want to put down.
Great, unbelievable characterizations of WW II survivors and Nazi hunters in a gripping novel.
Great! Very entertaining!Thought provoking and suspenseful
“The Huntress” is a must-read if you follow this genre and it’s outstanding authors. The character development is exquisite, the story line is wonderfully original, and you will not want to put it down. I measured my reading time so I could savor this delicious book by Kate.
It had plot twist which were sometimes quite unexpected.
Loved this book. Sad, scary in parts, great characters and never knew how it would end. A different view of WWII and the good guys vs the bad guys, but they were girls, not guys. Lots based on true events
LOVE this book and this author.
The Huntress left me breathless with delight… Kate Quinn has created nothing less than a masterpiece of historical fiction.
Quinn deftly braids the stories of a female Russian bomber pilot, Nazi hunters, and a young Bostonian girl staring down evil in the most unthinkable of places. The result is a searing tale of predator and prey, transgression and redemption and the immutable power of the truth. An utter triumph!
From the author of The Alice Network, another excellent read. This was a page turner for me and had me guessing the mystery the entire time. I enjoy this author’s style and find it easy to read. Highly recommend both books.
Good story that draws you in and keeps you involved!
Great read!
Loved this book. Could not put it down
I kept reading until my eyes crossed every day. The stories are plaited together beautifully with interesting characters. They are an amalgamation of real people whose courage was incredible. WWII female pilots in Russia were a revelation and further reading about them ….the weaker sex? HAH
I only wish my Dad was still alive so we could talk about this. Especially the nazi hunters. No – no capital letters for them. Nope
I love reading Kate Quinn’s novels. They are fast-paced and wonderful to read. The Huntress had a lot of plot turns. I was kept on my toes. Make sure to listen to it on Audiobook. Saskia Maarleveld makes the Huntress come alive.
A page turner from a wonderful writer, Kate Quinn!
Historically based, this story propelled me from page to page with interest. Well drawn characters and wonderful plot line. You really care about these women. High recommend.
Kept me on the edge of my seat. A real page turner!
