The HuntressMy life was changed at the age of seventeen. A man took my innocence and turned me into a killer. I spend my days hunting for men just like him. I am paid by the families of the victims to deal out the justice a court of law is too afraid to do.My hunt for a vicious man leads me right into the heart of Bourbon Street in New Orleans. The club he works for is notorious for its illegal … notorious for its illegal activities. The night I search for him, I am captured by a man even deadlier than my mark.
Jackson Pace owns Club Phoenix, and his employee will be mine once he is found. The owner holds me hostage until he can convince me my task is too deadly without his help. Our time together sets my body and heart in a spiral. His need for me matches his strength. Jackson proves himself when he brings the wrath of hell upon those who have harmed me. He will soon realize I am as deadly as he is, and I will stop at nothing to punish the man I have been hired to kill.
This is who I am…This is what I do.
I am a huntress.

Another great book by this author. This book comes with a whole heap of trigger warnings. However the violence the heroine suffers is dealt within a respectful manner without being gratuitously graphic or descriptive you know what happens.
She was broken and left for dead. She is now known at The Huntress. She gives families of abused women the vengeance and closure that they need. Yes, she gets paid but she doesn’t do it for the money, which she donates to women’s shelters every year, she does it because no woman should be abused, because she is the only one that can make the abusers pay, and because these women that have been abused are in a way her. Called into a job, she’s tracking a man, who works for a very dangerous club owner Jackson. Jackson is also trying to find his employee.. for the same reasons Morgan is.. to bring justice for the crimes he committed.
Jackson is a man that hates when a woman is hurt, hates that the woman that he is becoming attracted to is trying to catch a dangerous man, however he also knows how strong she is. Love that rather than try to stop her, Jackson and his men are there when she needs help and he is there when she needs someone to help her see that she doesn’t have stand alone.
Standalone book by this author in a series of 12 ‘bad girls’ books.
She was broken and left for dead. The old saying what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.. right? Well they had no idea what fire they ignited within Morgan.
She is now known at ‘The Huntress’, called to right the wrongs by friends and families of those wrongfully hurt. She will hunt down the abusers and bastards… whatever the consequences or risk.

This book is why I adore Theresa Hissong as a writer, her writing style and charachters are multilayered and richly constructed. They are believable and real and flawed… and oh so likeable, and kick ass.
She doesn’t beat around the bush with her subject matter, the authors other books also deal with ‘emotionally charged and potentially upsetting situations’ but and this the first time I’ve read something by her that walks on the ‘dark side’ of life and I really enjoyed it.
I’m hoping we may see some of the other cast members get their own books in the future??
This is such a good book. If you are used to Theresa Hissong’s paranormal and rock band books, you will be in for a surprise. This is so off the scales different from her other series, but it’s so good. First, do expect some raw emotional scenes. Morgan was raped as a child but there are never any details mentioned so you don’t have to be all up in arms upset. The emotion is there to tell you why she has turned into the Huntress. Her job is to punish the men who get away with brutally hurting women. She meets Jackson when her next job is to hunt down a man who works for him. This is an emotional intense book that keeps you on your toes as you read it. You will enjoy it, no matter how brutal it is to your senses.
The Huntess is an angel of revenge…she takes ‘care’ of the men that think they can use women and throw them away. She doesn’t do it for the money, Morgan does it to try to reckon with her own history. This line of work leads her one night in the club of Jackson Pace, notorious crime boss. They are both harboring dark places in their soul, but can they work together to clean the streets of Morgan’s newest hit? Morgan is a strong, but bitter woman trying to reconcile with her broken past. Jackson, whose work is not always within the spheres of legality, has his own set of laws and high expectations of loyalty from the people he works for. He is also fiercely protective of people who are close to him, and the Huntress has now entered this circle of his trusted people. He wants to get to know her and find out what secrets she’ s hiding. He learns one thing almost immediately Morgan is a hard nut to crack.
I loved the characters! The story and plot were well developed and keep the pages turning!
