“Every experience God gives us . . . is the perfect preparation for the future only He can see.”–Corrie ten BoomCorrie ten Boom was a Dutch watchmaker who became a heroine of the Resistance, a survivor of Hitler’s concentration camps, and one of the most remarkable evangelists of the twentieth century. In World War II she and her family risked their lives to help Jews and underground workers … underground workers escape from the Nazis, and for their work they were tested in the infamous Nazi death camps. Only Corrie among her family survived to tell the story of how faith ultimately triumphs over evil.
Here is the riveting account of how Corrie and her family were able to save many of God’s chosen people. For 35 years millions have seen that there is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still. Now The Hiding Place, repackaged for a new generation of readers, continues to declare that God’s love will overcome, heal, and restore.
“A groundbreaking book that shines a clear light on one of the darkest moments of history.”–Philip Yancey, author, The Jesus I Never Knew
“Ten Boom’s classic is even more relevant to the present hour than at the time of its writing. We . . . need to be inspired afresh by the courage manifested by her family.”–Jack W. Hayford, president, International Foursquare Church; chancellor, The King’s College and Seminary
“The Hiding Place is a classic that begs revisiting. Corrie ten Boom lived the deeper life with God. Her gripping story of love in action will challenge and inspire you!”–Joyce Meyer, best-selling author and Bible teacher

I met the woman: Corrie Ten Boom. One of the most awesome and sincere ladies I’ve ever had the privilege to hear! To read her story was heartbreaking but to know how she survived and her choices: wouldn’t have missed it for the world.
One of my all time favorite books. It is the true story of how the Ten Book family helped the Jewish people to escape the Germans. When they are caught they are sent to camps. You get a first hand account of the horrific conditions and what they went through never losing their Faith. A must read book
Corrie Ten Boom’s life was an incredible example of a life lived by faith and of the ways in which God never leaves us nor forsakes us. He is always with us and working in our lives, even in the tiniest details such as fleas. I love Corrie’s amazing life story.
Love this book. Corrie Ten Boom is my hero!
I read this years’ ago, and loved reading about Corrie’s life before WWII; her and her family’s extreme courage and successful saving of many lives, including their hiding place in their own home; and how she overcame bitterness and anger towards those who imprisoned her and her family, and went on to speak to thousands and be a living testimony to God’s sustaining grace.
I also had our 16 year old read this this year for school. He learned a lot from reading it. I am currently reading aloud to our 4 children the book, “Life Lessons” from Corrie ten Boom by Pam Wiseman. Definitely recommend for teens and older.
This is a classic for a reason. What a wonderful story of survival and hope through the darkest of times.
A must read book of heroism and faith under the most excruciating circumstances.
Such a tragic story. If only it were not true. How can humans be so animalistic toward one another. What on this earth can ever be accomplished?! Miss TenBoom lived to share the tragic story of imprisonment, starvation, inhumane treatment and yet had enough of the love of God within to forgive.
I first ready Corrie Tenboom’s The Hiding Place in 1974. 43 years ago. It’s profound. An autobiography of her life during one of the most tragic times in human history. I have reread it only once because it is so haunting
This was an amazing story about the courage of this woman in the face of incredible danger and cruelty. What she achieved in her lifetime was simply amazing! She paid a price, but she also saved so many Jewish lives, when she didn’t have to. She was not at risk herself, yet, she knew what was happening to Jews at the hands of the German Reich during WWII, was wrong. She had the courage to do something about it.
Corrine and her family suffered much at the hands of the Nazis, yet she insists that God was always there even in their darkest days…truly inspiring!
Corrie Ten Boom, her father and sister worked in Dutch resistance during WWII. After Holland fell to German control, they continued aiding Jews by hiding them in their home and and helping them escape. Eventually the Nazis discovered and captured by the Ten Boom family. Although elderly the father was sent to prison in the Netherlands. His daughters were removed to a concentration camp in Germany. My husband and I toured the Ten Boom clock shop and home while visiting Harlem, Netherlands. Reading “The Hiding Place” and seeing it was special!
A story that sticks with you
A wonderful true story which everyone should find time to read.
Wonderful account of a real family who his Jews during WWII. Well written & engrossing. Very insprational.
What an inspiration makes you think and realize what others endure when they carry their cross for Jesus. Highly recommend this book.
True story of Corrie ten Boom during WWII Nazi Occupation of Holland. She was a watchmakers daughter who, along with her sister and father, hid Jews in their “Hiding Place.” They were eventually caught and sent to the concentration camp. A most moving story.
So terrible about the Holocaust! But she survived to tell the true story of what happened! May we remember and not forget and never let this type of thing happen again! She is inspirational!
Wonderful autobiographical story about the author’s experience during the Holocaust. Very sad/tragic that millions went through something similar. But, incredibly inspirational.
I felt like I was experiencing part of the past. It was a very interesting story based on facts. Well written
