“Every experience God gives us . . . is the perfect preparation for the future only He can see.”–Corrie ten BoomCorrie ten Boom was a Dutch watchmaker who became a heroine of the Resistance, a survivor of Hitler’s concentration camps, and one of the most remarkable evangelists of the twentieth century. In World War II she and her family risked their lives to help Jews and underground workers … underground workers escape from the Nazis, and for their work they were tested in the infamous Nazi death camps. Only Corrie among her family survived to tell the story of how faith ultimately triumphs over evil.
Here is the riveting account of how Corrie and her family were able to save many of God’s chosen people. For 35 years millions have seen that there is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still. Now The Hiding Place, repackaged for a new generation of readers, continues to declare that God’s love will overcome, heal, and restore.
“A groundbreaking book that shines a clear light on one of the darkest moments of history.”–Philip Yancey, author, The Jesus I Never Knew
“Ten Boom’s classic is even more relevant to the present hour than at the time of its writing. We . . . need to be inspired afresh by the courage manifested by her family.”–Jack W. Hayford, president, International Foursquare Church; chancellor, The King’s College and Seminary
“The Hiding Place is a classic that begs revisiting. Corrie ten Boom lived the deeper life with God. Her gripping story of love in action will challenge and inspire you!”–Joyce Meyer, best-selling author and Bible teacher

Great guidance in horrible times. God is our strength in times of need. His promises are real.
Corrie ten Boom and her family courageously hid Jews in a secret hiding place in their watch-repair shop during WW II in Nazi-occupied Holland. They continually put their trust in the Almighty. When Corrie’s faith wavered, her sister Betsy gave the needed encouragement to continue leaning on Jesus, and she found her strengthened faith rewarded over and over.
Phenomenal TRUE story of faith, risk, perseverance, and trust. A story not often told about the Holocaust….what was the fate of the Jewish sympathizers. Read this book to my three children (ages 8, 12, 14) while studying WW2. We laughed, cried, and bled with angst for Corrie, Betsie, their friends and family. We believe this book should be read by and shared in families around the globe.
An inspiring story of God’s faithfulness and the courage of a family that was able to serve and save hundreds perhaps thousands through their reliance on God.
Amazing story!
Classic book that everyone should read.
Great message. Makes you thankful for being in the land of the free!
Where to begin when it comes to “The Hiding Place” by Corrie ten Boom? I sit here at a loss for words because I know that nothing I can say will begin to display the emotions and thoughts swirling around in my mind. Ms. Boom’s story touched a piece of me so deeply, I’m afraid that I will never be the same now. Seeing what she saw, hearing what she heard, things such as these will forever be with me.
There are so many things that I have learned when it comes to this story, I would like to state just a few of them here below- not enough to give anything in this story away, but enough to draw you in so that you will want to read what this marvelous woman has to say.
“There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still.” -Casper ten Boom passed on by Corrie.
“‘But,’ she said, ‘this is what the past is for! Every experience God gives us, every person He puts in our lives is the perfect preparation for a future that only He can see.'” -Corrie ten Boom
“‘There is sin in this world, and death and loss are consequences of that sin. But you know what? God feels it too. Every tear we cry? God sheds it too. He hurts with us because He loves us.’ Her voice grew soft. ‘I felt Him, Trent. When I was all alone, my shoulders shaking from grief, I felt His arms wrap around me and His peace embrace me, and I knew. I wasn’t alone, He was with me.'” -Corrie ten Boom
I cannot began to express to each of you enough the need to read this book at least once in your life time. Please, I promise you, you will not be the same after. You will laugh with Corrie, cry with Corrie, cry out with Corrie in the pain she had to endure, but most importantly God will touch your heart with the miracles He provided her with through all of this. Just take a chance, go back into history a little ways with Ms. Boom, you won’t be disappointed.
Terrible what the Nazis did to the Jewish people and those that helped them.
I read this many years ago. Corrie ten Boom was a true Christian woman. Risked her life many times to protect the Jews being hunted by Nazis. Highly recommended!
Heartache replaced with inspiration.
Well written real life account of the Ten Boom family during the Holocaust. The price they paid to live out their Christian faith, serve God and save precious lives.
This book such a good read. I have read it seceral times and watched the movie.
There are no words to sufficiently praise the courage and fortitude of the Corrie Ten Boom, and all those like her, during one of the darkest periods in our world. You will be inspired beyond measure.
Fabulous inspirational live story.
You have to love these sisters. What a testimony
I believe this book is a must-read. God has a plan for each of us. Corrie and her family showed much courage and dignity during an terrible time in our history. We can learn a great deal from this family- to be thankful in all circumstances, even to be thankful for fleas.
What these people went through is unbelievable in this day and age. And to hear it from Corrie herself is amazing. This should be taught in school.
Corrie Ten Boom’s story is often sad because of the things that happened but it is ultimately triumphant because of what God can do in the midst of hellish trials.
A most inspiring book. The story of a family that knows God and is willing to serve God no matter the personal cost. Hiding Jews during World War II in Holland caused the family to be arrested and sent to a concentration camp. Most of the story centers around the experiences in the concentration camp and how God was experienced there, A story that builds faith in the reader.
