This is an interesting story with strong characters. The author does a great job developing the story and had me glued to the pages with all the happenings. She brings the story to life with her detailed and descriptive writing, painting her scenes in graphic detail. Overlooking the editing , it’s a well written story ,moves fluidly and is a great read.

I really liked the storyline, but there are so many typos and grammatical mistakes in this book… such a shame.

This was definitely an interesting story. The premise of a haunted house isn’t new, but the way the author writes makes it an easy and enjoyable read. It definitely has a retro feel to it. Think of a movie like Grease, it gives off that sort of time period to me which works very well for the time period. I enjoyed going back and forth from the present and the past and I appreciate that it wasn’t a jarring confusing back and forth it was a very clear when you were in the past and when you were in the present. I’m not sure I totally understand some of the main characters motivations behind her actions, but I suppose peer pressure can do those things to you.

This book was amazing! It was well written and went into so many graphic details. The author has a great mind for horror and i will definitely read more from her. The absolute best part is the ending because you will never suspect its coming.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. There were a lot of errors throughout the book but the story itself and the characters were great. There were definitely some twists I didn’t see coming. With a good editor this book could easily be a 5 star read. As it is I still give it 4 stars because I really enjoyed it. One other minor complaint I have is in the beginning the use of the word idiot was a bit excessive to the point it became a little annoying but as it got into the story and the action the overuse of the word died out.
If you like stories about haunted houses, The Hensley Mansion will not disappoint you. A group of teenagers are in for a rude awakening when they decide to party at the house on Hallowe’en night. Only one person can escape the horror, only one person will be given a choice. This story is a wonderful, freaky, scary tale. Though it could benefit from a good editing, the storyline and the characters are very good in this horror story.
