Times have changed…at least I would like to think they have improved. This book does not sugar coat the period. May God have mercy on our souls.

For that moment alone, I’d give it 5 stars! This book has been a bonding moment for us, breaking barriers of age and social views. She enjoyed the movie and we’ve …

This book is a realistic read about the hardships of the black race oppression in the 1960s. I think that this book is perfect for the time currently. It is good to look to past experiences to understand what people might have gone through just to get their rights. It inspires me to continue my goals and I hope it inspires you as well.

The Help is a poignant, powerful, eye-opening novel about maids working for white families in Mississippi during the Civil Rights movement and a young white woman who collaborates with them to tell their stories in her anonymous but nonfiction book. It is a tale about three women who force themselves to take huge risks to shine a light on both the …
I loved this story about a young, while girl struggling to become a journalist in Jackson, Mississippi who decides to interview all her neighbor’s black maids. By doing so, she not only risks lives, but brings to light all the racial tension that was common in the early 1960s. The story is powerful, touching, and often humorous.
This book stayed with my after a long time after finishing. Wonderful story telling.
This book Was so great! It was the sad truth of the world. It made me cry, but the main character was awesome. I repeat this line to my family, “You is smart, You is beautiful…”
You should also watch the movie
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the different voices and how emotional things were. Being from the West and the North and a child of the 80’s this was all new to me. It was interesting to me that there were so many different views. I know it was an interesting time in American History and it was amazing to hear the story.
I read this book again as soon as I finished it because I loved it so much.
If you’ve never read this book, read it. If you have, reread it now.
