This book is soooo good , a must read!!
Second book in the Selection Series! Really amazing! This book had very many shocking moments! Kept me on my toes! The character development was great! She wraps some things up and opens new doors! Had a hard time putting the book down!
This book is the second in the Selection series and is about America in the elite. There’s isn’t much to it, but I loved it. I can’t really say much without spoiling it.
The Elite is the second book to the wonderful Selection series. I HONESTLY can’t cay enough about these books and I’ve read them over and over. America and Maxon are the most perfect couple and the way the author describes their love for one another is soooooo sweet. If you enjoy romantic, happily ever after books, you have to read the Selection series. Each one is special and can’t be left out!!
Happy Reading!
A wonderful book! I finished the series in a week! I definitely recommend to anyone who needs a good page turner!
I loved this book! It is my favorite in the series and I recommend it to anyone and everyone!
Love this books so much and I read the whole collection within a month
A great addition to The Selection Series! I think this is where the most turbulence happens and problems arise. The main character, America Singer, goes through some challenges and struggles. I loved seeing how she deals with them in a relatable way.
The Elite is enchanting as the rest of the books in the series and really spices things up. 😉
This book was a wonderful addition to the series. You truly get a feel for the relationships building in Americas life! I love it so much and I hope you will take the time to enjoy these delightful words as much as I have.
See my review of The One, the first book in this series.
Absolutely loved it and love this series!
Like the whole series.
Alright… I’m already thru book #2 The Elite. A lot mention it’s a quick read… because you can’t put it down and find time to read it! I do have to say I like the first book better… but this gave lots of depth to the story. Most of the book I was mad at the guys . These books you definitely need to read in order and to go the whole story you need to keep reading!
Onto The One, book 3.
I’m up and down and all over because of America! I find that I both want to shake her and pat her hand. It’s such a hard decision, choosing which forever to grasp onto. I finally see Maxon’s appeal and I wholeheartedly embrace his reasonings, he’s doing the very best that he can due to America’s own wishy-washy attitude. He’s done somethings that make me cringe, as has America!!! They’re on perfect footing there!! I soooooo dislike the king. What an utter nightmare! I was hoping that the rebels would come in and take him out. But now the plot is even more alluring and I’m very excited to see just where it goes. I keep waiting for Maxon to discover America’s big secret and I’m interested to see how he reacts to it. I’m loving this mess and I’m staying up way too late to read. I’m craving that happily ever after… like can we get there yet!?
I loved the first book in this series. Here the girls are narrowed down to the “elite”, the top 6 Selections.
I have to say there were so many times I was just plain annoyed by America and her indecisiveness.
I loved the continuation of the love triangle, I desperately want her to end up with Aspen although I don’t see that happening. I could also see many flaws to both Aspen and Maxson that left me likeing both of them a little less in this book.
I will have to wait and see what happens!
The Elite is such a fast paced read. The audiobook sucked me in and wrapped me up in the adventure of America’s involvement in the selection for Maxon’s future wife. I really enjoyed this story ALMOST as much as The Selection. I did find myself getting frustrated with America’s back and forth and self-doubt a few times throughout The Elite. But that was just my personal opinion. Otherwise, I enjoyed this story and can’t wait for my hold on the audiobook at my local library is approved so I can find out what happens next!
“The Elite” was about on par with “The Selection,” I thought–it served to progress the story, and is distinctive from “The Selection” only insomuch as the group of girls competing for Prince Maxon is now much smaller. America still has her private liaisons with her ex-boyfriend-turned-palace-guard Aspen, though to her credit, in this book she finally makes up her mind and decides that Maxon is the one she really wants. But while Maxon was clear from the beginning that he was in love with America and would choose her early on in the process if she would have him, this book introduces some clever complications: when America’s best friend in the Elite, Marlee, is punished severely and publicly for what should be a minor transgression, America begins to wonder if she really wants to align herself with the royal family. This drives Maxon to consider other options… which makes America jealous and resentful, eventually speeding her toward a stunt that (*spoiler alert*) nearly gets her kicked out. Meanwhile, the rebel attacks get closer, more frequent, and their true aims begin to take shape.
The only reason I knocked off half a star is because of the way America handles the love triangle. Again, I get being torn between the boy she’s loved for years and the prince, the one she’s falling in love with now… but I don’t respect her for actively playing them both. It makes me like her less in general. But in every other way, I think she’s a sympathetic character.
My rating: **** 1/2
So when I began reading, I was confused. If Maxon has already chosen her then what else could be said to warrant a 200+ page book and a sequel? But then I was taken on a ride. I cannot believe all the twists and turns. There are so many people that I want to have justice taken out on, including the King! I am hopeful that the next book sees the return of Nicolette and a Queen willing to stand up to her King. On to book three!
I enjoyed this book. I have to say sometimes the back and forth with America is annoying but i guess that’s how you act when your in love or think your in love with two different people. I didn’t think i would enjoy the series so much but now that i have started reading the books i have become obsessed and can’t wait to get to the next one to see what will happen.

The competition rages on, as fewer and fewer girls remain. And I don’t think I’ve ever been so annoyed with the main heroine and at the same time so in love with her.
Off to the next book.
