One of my fav books. Excellent use of a historical backdrop and unique backstory I was unaware of. It’s also filled with numerous factoids which i found very interesting.
Interesting history and frightening tragedy
I am an avid reader and it was one of the best books I have ever read
Well researched and exceptional writing
Loved this touch of history.
I loved the first part of the book telling about the great exhibition and the events to create that Chicago World’s Fair. Hard to put down. Unfortunately, the author also tied a serial killer’s story because it took place during that time period. That part was difficult reading. I wish I has stopped after just the fair part. The latter part of …
I liked the way they combined the two stories into one. Very interesting history.
Fantastic book!
i Loved this book!!
I was in awe of the way Larson blended such a cocktail of history, architecture and straight up madness. Very influential to my writing!
A great read. Non-fiction. Historical.
Hard to read.
The part of the book about the serial killer was fascinating. The book was a bit too detail on the architecture,
Informative and thrilling.
Story has stayed with me for years
It was a very interesting story and kept you in suspense. A page turner!
Another hit! I’ve read all of his books and have never been disappointed.
Another well researched non-fiction book by Erik Larson. Combines the story of a mass murdered and the Chicago World’s Fair. Moves along and a good read.
Nonfiction that reads like fiction. This book is a masterpiece. Could not put it down.
Excellent book and very well written. I learned so much about history and the Chicago Worlds Fair.
A chilling account of the Chicago World’s Fair and the serial killer who got away with murder.
