Run from the past. Run from the future. Run for your lives.
He’s a novice time traveler in a big universe.
Ben just wants time with the scientist’s daughter who got him into this, but when he’s rooked into competing in a chronothon–an Amazing Race through time–getting the girl means he’ll need to make the finish line. When he finds out this competition is more than just a sprint through … sprint through history, winning takes a back seat to surviving. To save the people he loves, he’ll have to conquer the real dangers hidden in the shadows of the chronothon.
The world of time travelers expands in this next installment of the “In Times Like These” series. Fans of book one will find more to love, but new readers can jump right in and enjoy this stand-alone time travel story. Expect action, adventure, and romance on this journey through past and future. Fresh dangers will arise for Ben and company in a quest for the finish line, where failure to keep up will cost more than just a shot at glory—it could mean the end for them all.

Very good read. Thought provoking and it’s the kind of book that lingers with you when you drift off to sleep, you just can’t let it go…
Nathan Van Coops’s The Chronothon is a long book, seeming even longer if you have trouble following time travel jumps and redos like I do. While it was a swashbuckling adventure of a book, I could have enjoyed it being half the length and with half the betrayals. Seriously, it seemed like everyone and everything was pitted against Ben and those racing in the Chronothon (a marathon of time travel that served as the plot driver of this story and still has my brain screaming “error! error!”).
Gosh, how I love time travel that is done well, and I absolutely think Nathan Van Coops hits the mark with this series, but I wish it were a little less confusing and lot more adventurous. You know I’ll continue the series, because my tiny brain is a glutton for this kind of punishment, but I’ll need some time to let the whirlwind of activity from this novel to settle in first.
This is a continuation of a time travel series that includes a race and a fun romp through time. There are some sinister elements that keep you on edge, so it’s not all fun and game, just games.
love, love, love this whole series
Action, action, action!!!! So much action in this book. The first book was more of a know how…this book, it never stopped! I loved it, from front to back. I loved the story line and the characters. I loved the friendships made and the hardships that made them. I loved finding out why and all the surprises it took to get there.
Dark.
Lighthearted.
Frustrating.
Sad.
Joyful.
Dangerous.
So many sit on the edge of your seat moments!
I loved seeing Ben grow into his new world. I really love his all or nothing attitude, his genuine care for others, his and helpful disposition.
Well thought out, well written, and so creative. It’s a vivid world and page turning read. Can’t wait to get into book three!
I love time travel books and it would have to be quite bad for me not to like it.
I’ve had this series on my iPod for months and don’t know what took me so long! Nathan Van Coops brings us more of Ben’s stumbling through time when he is tricked into joining a Chronothon, a marathon through time. But some of the competition is playing for keeps and there is more to this race than what Ben signs up for! I rarely read books twice because I have so many on my TBR list, but I might have to read this one again just to re-experience the Chronothon since I was so engrossed in finding out what would happen to Ben!
Honestly, Nathan, you have to revisit Ben and his friend some day. I miss them and they have so many stories to tell!
