Boyfriend (n.)1) A frequent or regular male companion with whom one has a romantic or sexual relationship.2) A myth. A legend. Impossible to find. According to her eighty-year-old neighbor, Lizzie Donovan is looking for Mr. Right in all the wrong places. Though it’s made great fodder for her blog, Lizzie is finally tired of swiping left and awful blind dates, and she’s ready to take Mrs. … she’s ready to take Mrs. Skinner’s advice and find love the old-fashioned way. Goodbye dating app, hello grocery store, book store, dog park, and wherever else she might be able to meet a good man. And she really has nothing to lose. Not only will she be entertained along the way, but even if she ends up alone, she’ll always have her longtime best friend, Aiden, by her side.
Friend zone (n.)
1) A situation in which a friendship exists between two people, one of whom has an unreciprocated romantic or sexual interest in the other.
2) Location of Aiden Wallace.
According to his eighty-year-old neighbor, Aiden Wallace has been friend zoned. And that’s mostly his fault because instead of opening his eyes and seeing what was right in front of him, Aiden has spent the last several years enjoying the single life. But things have changed—he has changed—and now he needs his best friend, Lizzie, to stop shoving him into the friend zone so he can work at winning her heart. Until then, he’s stuck watching her string of dating disasters and wishing she’d believe him when he tells her he’s the one.

I really liked this book and will try to read more books by this author.
I enjoyed K.L. Grayson’s “The Boyfriend Blog,” but I think I was expecting more from it than was actually there. It’s a sweet, frothy confection of a book, and the main characters, Aiden and Lizzie, were amusing and mostly likeable. That said, things seemed to fall into place for them a little bit too easily when they finally decided that they were ready to be more than friends, and the big “conflict” between them at the end of the book felt like it was blown way out of proportion to me. A lot of Lizzie and Aiden’s problems, both when they were in college and in their current relationship, seemed to be based on “big misunderstandings” and failures to communicate on important issues, which didn’t exactly leave me feeling confident that the foundation of their relationship was secure.
I was also annoyed by some of the things Lizzie did at the end of the book, especially when she got mad at Aiden for reading her blog. She was mostly angry because, according to her, the blog entries were her “private” thoughts and feelings and she didn’t want him to know about them. If that was the case, then why post them on the internet where the ENTIRE WORLD could access them? I can understand why Lizzie would be upset about Aiden using the blog to try and manipulate her into dating him, but I completely disagree about the entries being private information. A blog is not the same thing as a diary, IMO.
In addition, the reunion scene in Aiden’s boss’s office was a little much for me. Any sense of romance I may have felt was completely overshadowed by my sense of how unprofessional it was for Aiden to have an emotional, PDA-filled conversation with his girlfriend in front of his boss and new co-workers, many of whom he was supposed to supervise. What a way to make a first impression, especially after said girlfriend barged into the office looking like a homeless person!
At any rate, this was a light, fun, and sweet story that kept me entertained for a few hours, and I would recommend it.
5 Stars
Lizzie is looking for love, but keeps going out with all the wrong guys. Aiden knows he’s the right guy for her, but has been friend zoned and left to pick up the pieces after each failed date.
I adored everything about this story. Lizzie, Aiden and especially their elderly neighbor Edna. She was an absolute hoot and totally stole the show. If you’re looking for a light hearted, fun, sweet and sexy read, then oneclick this one today. KL Grayson delivers big time with The Boyfriend Blog. Aiden and Lizzie checked off every single thing I love in a story.
Angela – Alphas Do It Better Book Blog
How many guys does it take for a girl like Lizzie Donovan to see Prince Charming is right in front of her? That is something that her best friend, Aiden Wallace has been questioning all these years. Now this is more than just a best friend romance by K.L. Grayson has created but more of a girls journey to finding real love. The friendship is all there from beginning to the end but the real kicker is Lizzie finding a love unexpected. I felt for Aiden, always the friend never the lover or THE MAN. It was funny seeing them together coming to grips with the chance of all the possibilities between them. K.L. Grayson love for these two was great and though there were times LIzzie seemed dense true love wins above all else. This was a great and funny book not just about two friends but seeing a girl realize that sometimes our friends know us so much better than a stranger. Loved it.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
I love everything K.L. Grayson but this book is the sweetest! It’s got everything I love in a story! <3
This book was refreshing to read. Not only was it lol funny, it also had heart, depth and romance. Lizzie is the quintessential girl next door, smart, funny, beautiful but down on her luck with dating. She starts a blog after getting her heart broken and starts writing about all her dating experiences. Not only are these hilarious, but the blog dialogue makes this a page turner. Queue in Aiden, the guy next door who has been Lizzie’s best friend since 6 years old. They have that relationship that everyone looks for except the sizzling romance part. Aiden keeps trying to get Lizzie to go out with him, but she keeps turning him down. The connection between these 2 is undeniable and makes you get swept away by the story. Then you have to add in Edna, the 80 year old neighbor who is the duo’s biggest cheerleader, helping scheme to get them together once and for all. This friends to lovers is a must read to everyone who is looking for love, has loved or is in love. You will not be disappointed!
My I love these best friends to lover’s trope. Lizzy is doing what she loves best, working as a teacher and trying to find the perfect date, well the dating has launched her into the perfect blog. As Lizzie stumbles through every Mr. Wrong date around she always has her fall back. Having ice cream and movies with her best friend, Aiden. Aiden has been secretly in love with his best friend since they were kids. He sees he has done wrong years ago and now is trying to prove Lizzie that he has changed and every chance he gets he asks her out.
This whole story kept you rooting for each of them to find the perfect balance. When things are right in the world with Aiden and Lizzie, things still muddle with them, it is in this time you see how these friends fight for their relationship.

The Boyfriend Blog by Author KL Grayson was exactly what I needed right now. Life has been heavy and heartbreaking and this book was effervescent. It lighted my mood and heart and put a smile on my face.
It is a stand-alone romance that is a friends to lovers romance. It is well written, well developed and has lovable characters!
Lizzie and Aiden have been friends most of their lives. She starts a blog to share her dates with her readers. It is very funny and true to dating these days.
With a little help from their elderly neighbor Edna they come to realize that they may be the perfect match for each other.
5 Missing What’s Right in Front of You Stars!!
KL Grayson has written one of the best friends-to-lovers books I’ve read in a quite a while. I immediately connected with Lizzie and Aiden and found myself chuckling out loud at certain moments. I loved the banter between these two and their obvious love for each other, although Aiden’s love was so much more than friendship, he just needed Lizzie to see that.
Lizzie is a woman after my own heart in that she’s determined to find her forever and has even started a blog about all her dates! Let me tell you, I could write a book about some of my horrifying dates and I felt like I was there with Lizzie on some of hers! Add in Edna and these two won’t know what hit them when it finally happens for them!
I was a little nervous for Aiden when he finally decided to admit to Lizzie how he feels about her. I mean, their friendship is EVERYTHING to him and he doesn’t want to lose that. But he can’t go on anymore without touching and loving her in every way possible. Oh and when they get horizontal so to speak, it’s fireworks!!! And I loved seeing how they almost instinctively knew what each other wanted… just made it that much hotter!!
One of the other things I loved so much about this book is their neighbor Edna. She’s a feisty senior citizen who could see what should be happening between them and she does her fair share of trying to make them see it. But what was so fabulous is the love, respect and caring Aiden and Lizzie had for this woman. Almost like grandchildren feel for their grandmother. But Edna is woman that speaks her mind and doesn’t let much slow her down!
Overall, there isn’t anything I didn’t love about this book. It’s a great story with characters that I immediately connected with, giving me laugh out loud moments along with a friendship that becomes so much more!
I received a review copy before release for an honest review.
This was an awesome story, it was my first time reading this author and I loved the whole story. It is a friends to lover storyline with a plot twist of starring a set of twin sisters. Lizzie, our female lead writes a boyfriend blog where she tells her fan base they deserve better in a boyfriend. Its pretty much her big secret except for a bunch of senior citizens.
Aiden is her bestie and he does not know her big secret. These two are very close and he wants more with her and he tells her many many times. So what’s the hold up? Well Lizzie won’t give him a 2nd shot at her heart.
Aiden has no clue what the problem is and I am not spoiling that. This was a really fun story. Aiden is a great guy and he has a lot of work to do to get Lizzie to date him
I loved this story, if you are looking for a fun best friend romance with no angyst then you will love this story.
I am giving The Boyfriend Blog 4.5 stars. This is a standalone friends to lover story.
Lizzie is a beautiful young lady who is writing a blog that most of her friends and family have no idea about. She is also in love with her best friend but afraid of him not returning her feelings because of a past experience.
Aiden is a smart and handsome young man, who in love with Lizzie. However trying to convince her that he has changed is not easy. If only she would just give him a chance.
This was a fun read, with a quirky older women neighbor. I loved both Lizzie and Aiden, I loved their friendship and how well they truly knew each other. There were many feels during this book, a few spots gave me butterflies in my Stomach, it had me laughing, feeling a bit sad a couple of times, but overall smiling and loving it. This was a wonderful read I highly recommend!!

This friends to lovers romance had me smiling nonstop and left me giddy.
Aiden and Lizzie have been friends since they were kids. No matter what, they’re always there for each other. Their friendship is so sweet, fun and one would say they’re the perfect match. Everyone else sees what is so blatantly clear and right in front of Lizzie and Aiden’s face. And so instead of Lizzie continuing documenting the dates she goes on on the blog she started—aptly named, The Boyfriend Blog in search of the perfect boyfriend; maybe he’s always been right under her nose.
I really liked the dynamic between Aiden and Lizzie. I loved their friendship first and then their romantic relationship after they admitted their feelings for one another. They really were quite the match.
The Boyfriend Blog was the perfect mix of humor and heart and is packed with amazing chemistry. And the supporting characters were also enjoyable, especially Edna, she was a hoot. All in all this friends to lovers romance was an absolute win for me.
After a string of horrible dates, Lizzie is tired and thinks that Mr. Right is just not in the cards and for years she has let her blog followers know the trials and tribulations of dating. Her best friend Aiden is there with wine and ice cream after each and every bad experience. It takes her 80 year old neighbor’s advice to see what is right in front of her eyes and opens her heart. When Aiden and Lizzie finally open their hearts to each other will they give love a chance? Or will the risk of their friendship be too great? This story had me laughing out loud and sighing with utter happiness. A fabulous read. Once again K.L. Grayson does not disappoint.
Perfectly sweet friends to lovers story. Witty characters with great banter and so much heart. I enjoyed that this book truly was sweet and exactly what I need to read at the time. Quick, enjoyable read that I would definitely recommend!
KL Grayson once again wows with The Boyfriend Blog! A sweet, sexy, steamy, with perfect sprinkles of humor romance that kept me between giggles and swoons and loving every minute of it.
Oh my gosh this book was hilariously adorable! I knew dating was hard, but I didn’t know it could be this funny and sweet. Aiden and Lizzie we’re freaking adorable themselves! Individually and as a couple they were just such cute and relatable characters. I loved watching them make their way from friendship to more. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and K.L. Grayson knocked if out of the park with perfect swoony moments that filled my tummy with butterflies and laugh-out-loud moments that, well, actually made me laugh out loud!
The Boyfriend Blog was fantastic! This was a lighter side of K.L. Grayson’s writing with amazing characters, an adorable storyline, and great writing. I loved it. 5 stars.
Overall the wiring style is good, interesting storyline, and a good HEA. Aiden seems like a great best friend who wants out of the friend zone, but Lizzie is scared to try again. However, this reads like a Hallmark movie and those are not my favorite.
I absolutely adored this perfect friends-to-lovers rom com by K.L. Grayson. Everything about it was SO SWEET!
Lizzie is sick of failed set ups, bad blind dates and has had enough of dating apps. She creates a blog called “The Boyfriend Blog” and has over 220,000 followers to journal all her experiences. Even though these dates were horrible you will be laughing out loud at the ridiculousness of some of these men and what Lizzie has had to put up with.
Aiden is Lizzie’s best friend and neighbour. They are attached at the hip and do everything together. Before finally admitting their romantic feelings for each other you see a beautiful friendship between these two!
Right from the start of the book I was emmersed in the story and characters. I could not put it down. It has the perfect mix of humor and heart and is packed full of swoony, steamy scenes.
Neighbour, Edna added so much to the story. Her advice and matchmaking was adorable. I also adored both Aiden and Lizzie’s families. Everyone was rooting from them as soon as they announce their relationship. So much love and support!
This was 100% a 5 star read for me. Although slightly predictible there is absolutely nothing that I didn’t like about it and the ending left my heart full of happiness.
Thank you to K.L. Grayson & Social Butterfly PR for proving me with an advanced reader copy in exchange of an honest review.
A sweet friends to lover romantic comedy that was read in no time.
Lizzie has been going from bad dates to bad dates. Aiden has been her confident and best friend for years. Neither are willing to take the leap. Will they?
This is a sweet light romantic story that made me read it in a day. A page turner and addicting story. Characters that were funny. Bottomline this is a must read.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I recommend this story.
Liz and Aiden were the sweetest friends to lovers story. They were next door neighbors and best friends. She was clueless about how Aiden felt about her and he was an awesome friend that was always there whenever her blind dates were disastrous. But everyone else saw how he felt about Liz. Then things changed and it was sweet and funny. They had their ups and downs but it was still a very funny and sweet read.
3.5 stars
The Boyfriend Blog is the perfect read if you’re looking for a fast and fun read. Our main character Lizzie hasn’t had the greatest luck with dating. She has a blog keeping track of her experiences and this leads to some hilarious moments. Some of her dates in the first few chapters had me laughing out loud. In the end though, this is a friends to lovers story that will make your heart smile.
Lizzie is a fun character. She’s a teacher and love what she does. She wants to date, but it hasn’t been easy for her. What I think I loved about her is that she could laugh about the dates in the end. She wants a relationship, but she isn’t too desperate if that makes any sense. Lizzie is a caring person and lovers her next door neighbor Edna (who was such a fun character to read about).
Aiden is Lizzie’s best friend and definitely the nice guy in many ways, even if he wasn’t always like that. He’s always there for Lizzie when dates go wrong. I love that he designs games as well, that sounds like such an interesting job. What I loved most about Aiden is that he didn’t really hide his feelings for Lizzie. He keeps asking her out from the start. He tries really hard to get her to notice him and definitely takes extreme measures to do so.
Even though I really enjoyed this story, there were a few things that bugged me. It’s clear from the beginning that Aiden and Lizzie will end up together, but for me it happens too soon in the story. I kind of miss the buildup to everything. It’s there, but not enough for me. Because this happens so early on, I felt that there was some drama that just wasn’t needed. This actually made me dislike Lizzie for a bit. I understood her feelings, but I think she was rather dramatic. It felt a bit forced, like some drama was needed with them ending together so early on.
All in all, I really did enjoy their love story and the humor in this book. Their family and neighbor give this book just a bit more fun and I wouldn’t mind reading more about them. I do wish we got a few more blog posts though, because that really was my favorite part of the story. They were really funny and I enjoyed reading them. I will definitely read more from this author in the future!
