He wants more than a one night stand…I haven’t dated anyone for years. I have no plans to even try, until my sister gifts me a weekend trip to Vegas. The catch? I have to go on a date. But the guy I’m set up with is an awful creep. When he starts pushing for me to go back to his room, I fight as hard as I can… and then my knight in shining armor swoops in to save me.Nolan Coldwater: He’s … Coldwater: He’s tall, fit, clearly a gentleman– exactly the kind of guy that’s perfect for a night in Vegas. And besides, my sister told me to have fun! So I do.
I really do.
Nolan is amazing, I just don’t realize HOW amazing. So when I see my face splashed across the news by nosy paparazzi, I get a good hunch. He’s rich and famous; there’s no way I’ll see him ever again.
Except then he shows up on my doorstep…
And I know he wants more than a one night stand.
This is a standalone novella with a HEA and NO cheating!
Penny Wylder writes just that– wild romances. Happily Ever Afters are always better when they’re a little dirty, so if you’re looking for a page turner that will make you feel naughty in all the right places, jump right in and leave your panties at the door!

Really liked this book about Dani and Nolan. Nolan saves Dani, but he is a big target for the paparazzi which has unintended consequences. Dani also saves Nolan and I loved that. This is a great story with wonderful characters. Definitely recommend. Must read!
I need a fire truck to calm the inferno that is this book. I was not disappointed in one word. The plot was great. The characters were fantastic. I loved the fact that the hero and heroine went with the flow and not get all uptight about the paparazzi. I also how they lived their lives without apologies. I was so glad to read a story that was t filled with unnecessary drama. Silly manufactured drama doesn’t make a good book. A good plot with great characters whether they be hero or villain is what makes a great book. Thank you Penny. Until next time y’all happy reading.
One of My Favorite Penny Wylder Stories!
“The Billionaire’s Gamble” is the story of Nolan Coldwater and Dani Hathaway. Nolan being the newly minted CEO of the namesake banking group his father founded, now worth billions. A man who is disillusioned by how Coldwater Bank’s “old guard” board of directors operate and striving to implement change, but is reluctantly forced to take the helm before said changes can begin after the sudden death of his father. And small town, South Carolina girl Dani, a workaholic lawyer using her legal powers for good, helping as many disadvantaged people as she can, protecting them from the greed, evil people, and bullying corporations.
They are two people from opposite ends of the life spectrum. Yet a chance meeting in Vegas leads to a scorching night of passion, emotional release, and calm that neither can forget. A night that changes both of their lives in unimaginable ways when the realities of Nolan’s life comes crashing down on them both. What follows is a beautiful tale of personal discovery, overcoming fear, taking chances, and following your instincts and heart.
“The Billionaire’s Gamble” is unlike anything Wylder has written before. It’s more serious in tone and subject matter. And while it’s as gorgeously sexy as you would ever expect from a Wylder story. Containing enough chemistry between Nolan and Dani to melt steel. It is also much, much more. Here, Wylder writes a more emotionally poignant tale, one that’s multifaceted, intelligent, and captivating. A sinfully sassy, modern day “Pretty Woman” if you will.
Yes, there are still a few typo and writing mechanic issues sprinkled throughout. And yes, the ending is a bit abrupt and a tad stunted compared to the lead-up. However, these items in no way detract from the gloriously strong and sexy story being told. This one is most definitely going on my 2020 favorites list!

Plot was good. Fun, flirty, dangerous, sexy, and sad
Characters were likeable.
•Dani is sweet and independent but shy and has her love life put on the back burner.
•Nolan is rich, strong, and never backs down. He is totally smitten when it comes to Dani.
HEA
°Only downside with the book is that I wanted more. I wanted at least another chapter with Dani and Nolan confronting the board members. Karma!
The first half of this story was included with Penny’s special holiday bind up, Get Stuffed – which I read (happily) so I had a weird sense of deja vu as I started reading it. I was very happy to see that Nolan and Dani story was extended past their romp in Vegas (as someone who got married in Vegas, I have a soft spot for most anything that involves it in the plot line).
The first portion of the book that was included with Get Stuffed was great – hot, sexy, and everything I’ve come to expect from Penny. But the way she extended their story was so unexpectedly delightful! Not only do we get to know Dani and Nolan better, we meet Dani’s sister (and awful brother and law) and we get to know more about Nolan’s relationship with his father and the details behind him being a billionaire. Nolan gets to rescue his damsel in distress (more than once), but what I really loved about this book is that the damsel gets to save him too.
This ranks up there as one of my favorite Penny Wylder books (along with The Billionaire’s Secret Babies, Lip Service, and Get Me Off). I enjoyed the chemistry between Dani and Nolan. I liked his chivalry and her independence – the character’s were sort of anti-trope in their makeup, which I really appreciated.
