You GO!Upon landing, Andrew feels instantly welcome. On his first night, a new friend asks him if he’d like to go on a volcano adventure with her. “Are you serious?” he says. “Yes, of course!”After picking … course!”
After picking up some gas masks the following day, they head to Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, hiking down a secret road toward a massive red glow in the distance. If you are a fan of Hawaii, you will like this living in the moment story.
Captured the essence of Hawaii beautifully.
enjoyed every page!
I kept wanting to read more.
It was almost as if I was in Hawaii myself. Very interesting and informative.
This one is like reading someone’s travel journal. He certainly knows a lot about Hawaii but this book certainly didn’t inspire me to travel there again.
Found the writing to be very basic
I am really tired of self-indulgent introspection. I kept thinking why doesn’t he get a job and a backbone. I suppose there is a place for this sort of thinking but I have little patience for it.
I did not finish this because it was not very interesting. Honestly it is the first time that I have not finish a book that I started.
Unfortunately I couldnt get into this despite the Big Island locale.
I lost interest well before the end. I had hoped that we would have shared experiences, but that wasn’t the case.
Having spent a lot of time on the big Island, and in the area where the book takes place .it was wonderful being reminded of the good times spent there and reading about another persons experiences.
Too boring to read fully. Had to go into speed read mode to get through it.
I’m disappointed that you need to buy two more books before you find out how his trip turned out.
not recommended; pretty self absorbed and boring author
It was like reading someone’s diary. Very boring. No adventure. Totally forgettable.
No real story… somewhat like reading a diary!
‘Got up.. hitchhiked into town.. ate lunch!’
I read a lot of books but this one was different in format than any that I have ever read before. Really enjoyed it and would highly recomend it.
enjoyed the travel log, but I’m the wrong generation to appreciate the activities and outlook
It was hard to really get to know the characters, or even the beauty of Hawaii. It was like reading a diary. I kept reading it to see if it would develop into something but it never did b
