When a reckless act upsets the balance between two MC clubs, everyone is fair game in the war that erupts.
Avery belongs to Lilith’s Army now, after being taken against her will, but she isn’t just anyone, she’s a Cutter’s MC Princess, and they don’t take kindly to people taking what’s theirs.
As Avery’s life starts to spiral out of control, she finds that her only hope of survival is to put her trust in the man she doesn’t trust at all. The only man that can bring destruction to not only both clubs, but also to her heart.
When the fallout reaches beyond just the two clubs, the consequences bring death, devastation, and chaos for everyone.
The dynamics of both clubs change forever in the wake that follows. Fate isn’t done teaching Avery that life isn’t always better with the devil you know, sometimes it’s with the devil you don’t.

It’s been so long since I’ve read a memorable dark romance that has completely consumed me and Taking Avery is doing exactly that! It’s intense, gritty, sinister and totally mindfucking and it’s giving me my whole life dh sidebottom and ke rdukey are so fantastic at taking this these crazy characters and bringing them to life! I’m having so much fun on this ride.
Very angsty, twisted, and no less than what I come to expect from this author. I honestly have not read a book I did not like from Ker Dukey. She usually surprises me in the best ways and I am always down for some of that period.
Oh my god this book was amazing, absolutely amazing. I have been thinking about this book for the last few days and it has still not left my head. I want more. I need more!!! I’d like to thank Terrie Arasin for sending me an arc of this it is very much appreciated!! I have never read anything from these authors I think that is very important to say so this is my first book from them and I do not think it will be my last that is for sure!
I had no idea what to expect when I picked up this arc it sounded good and interesting although when I signed up I had no idea what an MC club was I had to google it. But either way, I loved my entrance into this world it was a great story and I loved the plot. I loved everything! I’m not sure if this is a review or a gush but either way you are getting it!
Avery was such a strong character despite her having to marry Slade to cover up what Brenner did she takes it head on and agrees so that her fathers MC club would be protected also the fact her little brother was threatened. Her strong character was such a good thing and I loved that she would try and fight in little ways. I also loved how she began to trust Slade and began to fall for him, it was honestly so good and the banter and the feistiness she had. I loved Avery.
Slade. He was so different than to the other bikers in the story and it was so nice to see some compassion from them. I loved how he was willing to clear up after his brother’s mess by marrying Avery and how she did worm her way into his heart. Although there was sometimes where he could be an ass he still was better than the others in some aspects.
I loved their relationship, I wanted more. By the end, I just sat there like I’m hurting. I need more Slade and Avery the ending was my favourite bit ever when she goes home to him it melted my heart both of their reactions. It was one of my favourite things in the whole book obviously not going to say all my favourite because of spoilers.
I loved the plot it had running alongside the romance aspect of someone leaking information and stuff, I thought it was very clever and I did not even get where it was going and who was doing the bad stuff but I loved it. Also, Brenner is despicable I hated him, I wanted him to like get hit by a bus or something like that. He was horrid, that’s all I’m saying on that.
This book was fantastic, I will most definitely be reading the next book and I cannot wait to read it. Going to be fab
Pretty good book, great characters and an interesting plot. I was not sold on Avery, it took too long for her to be happy or compliant (comfortable) for me. I am still not sure I like her. I do like Frost, even if he feels too soft at times. The detsils and plot were great and well thought out. I did not know this ended in a semi-plot cliffhanger, but it was still good. I guess that gets readers to read the next book. I will read the bext story, but I am in no rush.
What can I say; an MC book co-written by Ker Dukey it was always going to be good, full of twists, dark, raw, gritty and spared no one! I haven’t read an MC book this addictive since the Hangmen series. One thing you can guarantee is that any book that has Ker Dukey’s input is NEVER going to be predictable! I haven’t read anything by DH Sidebottom, but I will certainly be looking her stuff up now too!
I instantly fell in love with Slade; he almost seemed too ‘nice’ to be a 1%er but as the story evolves you get to see his ruthless, rugged side and damn! If I didn’t fall in love with him. Avery, A Cutters princess wasn’t the least bit what you’d expect her to be. She was a strong determined female, not bratty or demanding but compliant in a fierce kind of way.
Told from a dual POV, the book is action packed from the get go. No fillers, no unnecessary scenes you were thrown into the action and the depravity of the MC life from page one. The book takes hold of you and drags you along for the ride. AND hell if it didn’t finish at a most inconvenient moment!
These two authors will keep you awake at night as you will not want to put this down.
I love MC books and I am a fan of both Ker Dukey and D.H. Sidebottom so this book was a win all round for me and that was before I read it. After reading it I am kinda still shocked with how much I enjoyed this book, it was raw, intense, violent, had some great twists and left me wanting more. I am super excited to see what comes next.
Heartpounding and gritty, grabbed me from word one and I couldn’t (wouldn’t) look away until I was done. A whirlwind of unbelievable events throw Avery into the arms of Frost, and two MC clubs are joined under false pretenses. What comes next is nothing short of explosive!!!!
“I can’t help but worry that the cost of this will be more than our freedom. A war is coming. I can feel it in the depths of my soul. And for Avery, choosing a side is going to be costlier than she can ever imagine.”
Frost and Avery are like an ignitable liquid near a flame, each powerless to avoid the pull each has over one another. So many twists and turns in this one, and as it unravels, it was nothing short of addictive and intoxicating to watch them light everything aflame.
Frost was perfectly alpha, yet endearingly sexy, and the banter was impeccable. With my heart in my throat, and heat in my gut, I watched them go from strangers to one of the hottest MC couples I’ve read for awhile.
“I’m under no illusions about the darkness lurking inside him. But it’s mixed almost equally with light. When the lines begin to blur between the two, who will I be left with? The sun or the shadow it creates?”
You won’t want to put this down as you race to see how it ends. Personally, the whole book made me want to inhale the entire series in one sitting without coming up for air, and I cannot wait for more!! Dark, gritty, powerfully sexy, and action-packed. Do not miss this one!!! I thank the Authors for providing a copy to review!!

I don’t remember the last time recently that I have devoured a book like I did with Taking Avery. I started yesterday afternoon and didn’t want to put it down. The characters drew me in from page 1 and I had to find out what was going to happen. GREAT series and I can’t wait to start book 2 today.
I haven’t read anything by D.H. Sidebottom before, but I have read books by Ker Dukey, so I knew that I would be in for something that I would enjoy. And I was right. I did enjoy this book. Enjoy may not be quite the right word for it though, just might not be strong enough. I was really engrossed in the book and pulled into Avery and Slade’s story, so when the end came, I wasn’t ready for the end of the book, and I needed more. Luckily, the second book is already out, so I was able to get that and read it immediately.
Avery is the Cutter’s Princess. Her dad runs the MC and she’s his daughter. But, she wants more to her life than that. She’s been dating someone else for a few months, hiding it from her dad. One night Avery and her boyfriend, and her friend and her boyfriend are going out. They stop at an out-of-the-way gas station to try to pick up some beer and snacks. While they are there, 3 riders come up on them. The problem is, they aren’t from Avery’s dad’s club. They are from Lilith’s Army.
The 3 bikers cause havoc and end up taking the girls. When the guys find out that Avery is a club princess to an allied club, the stuff hits the fan. You see, the guy who took her and now has her handcuffed in his room is the son of the Prez of the Lilith’s Army. And Brenner taking Avery just started a war. The only way to stop the war or minimize it as much as possible is to have Avery marry Slade/Frost, the Prez’s older son and soon to be VP. So that’s what’s decided will happen.
Oh man. I mean the ride that Avery and Slade go through along with how their past has affected them and changed their POV, and their goals for the future is a very bumpy one. There are all kinds of obstacles every time they turn around, and that doesn’t even include the issues they have within themselves, and fighting those. I really, really, felt what Avery felt and I totally got where Slade was coming from. It was an engrossing story, and one that I’ll read and reread.
This is a motorcycle club dark romance.
I loved this book.
And was swooning hard.
I can’t get my hands on the next one fast enough! Even if MC isn’t your type of genre but book boyfriends are, read this book.
In the middle of dark and messed up situation there’s always a silver lining.
This girl wants out of her family spot light, her responsibilities, and her expected future. But fate won’t let her go to far. She’s thrown in, literally kicking and screaming, to another family, more responsibility, and expected future. She can make the choice once she’s there, either learn to live it, or die trying. Neither will be easy. Every princess gets a prince, hers just rides in on a bike instead of a horse. One of the biggest issue they face is the dragon that is trying to take her, is family.
This story is filled with darkness, fear, hope and love. In depth characters, fulfilling story development, great speed, wonderful writing.
