For all the lovers of Daddy kink and Owen and Declan’s story in particular, this will be a special treat. I am happy that they got the HEA they both deserved but also a little sad because it means no more Daddy Declan and his Boy Owen for me! * wails helplessly* But on the serious note, it was everything I wanted it to be! It was emotional, angsty, s*exy, romantic and at times funny. All the characters made their appearance, and some will even surprise you.
The book picks up right where the second stopped. And from then on it comes to the level of trust both Owen and Declan have in their feelings since the events become a bit hectic. Owen’s bonds with his children are tested as well as his willingness to let Declan take care of his kids, since it’s a very big deal for him. Declan, of course, is wonderful in any situation. I loved how he handled himself.
Both Declan and Owen are ready for new changes in their lives. They love each other deeply and prove it everyday. Let me tell you, the intimate s*exy times between them were off the charts hot! But in every one of them I could just feel how they both felt – they connected on both physical and emotional levels. And Declan couldn’t have been more perfect! The care and consideration he showed Owen were freaking amazing. I loved those small gestures that one usually wouldn’t even notice, but that’s why they were so precious.
There are many spoilers as to where other characters will end up and with whom. Some new adventures that opened Owen’s eyes more than he wanted to. But I really loved the dynamics between Declan, Owen and his kids – there was just no judgement only acceptance. It’s just all together feel good kind of book with a bit of hurt/comfort and a lot of loving! I adored it and I highly recommend it! Copy received for my honest and unbiased review
The final instalment for the series is brilliantly put together and brings Declan and Owen’s relationship closer than before as well as furthering the rest of the characters stories. The pieces all come together at last and while there are a few bumps and tension which cause drama and uncertainty, the writing is well done and deeply engaging. Thoroughly enjoyed the series and this book is a great conclusion.
I’m reviewing the audio edition. This is the part of the story that had me laughing, crying and sad to see it end. I love these characters. The author did a great job of all the characters. I definitely want to know more about the secondary ones. This part of the story brought together all the pieces of the relationship between Owen and Declan. So much was answered. The author has a gift that made me want to know the story while at the same time really sad to see it end. There are sections that made me cry and I’m not a crier. There are parts that I laughed at that made me enjoy the family dynamics of these characters. Declan again proves how amazing he is. Owen shines as a dad and boy. I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. I have to give credit to John Solo for giving the characters personality. How he was able to do this story so smoothly is amazing to me.
Love overcomes. Family is everything.
What a stunning conclusion to the Taking Care series! It’s long, and I may have stayed up way past my bedtime reading it! You will love this book. It begins where the last book left off. But Gianni has done such a great job, this book can be read alone. Please read the first two books. You will be glad you did.
All our old friends and family are back; Oscar & Auggie, Summer & Penny, James, Charles, Silas, Ridge, Heath, & David. There is drama, fear, acceptance, insecurity, promises, honor, and trust. Oh, and lots of really hot sex.
This episode follows the maturing love between Declan and his Boy, Owen. As Owen strives to pursue his dream of writing, Declan supports him fully. Family drama interrupts their bliss, and ends up showing Owen how committed Declan is to not only Owen, but to his children. Ultimately the road to HEA leads to one conclusion: although love transcends all, family is everything. Family by blood, and the family we choose. Family & love engulf the past, embrace the present, and fire the hopes of forever. This book has it all! Get. This. Book. Now! You will love this book.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
I was so excited to finish this series, but this book was a miss for me. I had to push myself to finish it because I lost interest in the plot about 25% in. Much of the book felt contrived, and there was just too much going on. Then, the end of the book was rushed. And the epilogue just tied every loose end up in a paragraph after lots of build up to potential future books of other characters. If anything else is written based on this book, I will be skipping it.
Take Care of Us by Gianni Holmes is the third book in the Taking Care series. It is a contemporary m/m romance with an age gap – older Boy, younger Daddy dynamic. Its such a hot Daddy Kink read. The series is all about the same characters, book three leaving off where book two ended and concluding Declan and Owen’s beautiful story. This is filled with angst, drama, suspense, humor and so much emotion. We get sexiness and romance as well. We get to know more about Declan and Owen and the supporting characters that make this series so phenomenal. I absolutely loved this series and especially this book. I am satisfied and so happy for this ending… but wanna cry because this is goodbye for these amazing characters and their fun, beautiful story.
I received an advanced reader’s copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
This is the final book in the Take Care trilogy, and IMO is the best installment of the story between Daddy Dec and his older Boy, Owen. I started reading the story because I was intrigued with the idea of a younger daddy with an older boy, but as the story progressed, the age difference ceased to matter and it was the love and respect the two shared that became the most important part.
Settle in, because this final book will take you on a long ride…and you’ll love every minute of it! I love books like this that aren’t full of a bunch of meaningless waffle that leads to the cliched Big Dramatic Moment, but are rather filled with the human emotions and activities that dominate our everyday lives. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few oh sh*t! inducing surprise moments, but for the most part this is a love story that unfolds in the quiet moments of life where nothing really special is happening at all. That’s what makes it special though; these two characters don’t need the Big Moments to make their story interesting. The love and care they show for each other in the book is enough to hold the reader’s interest, and the family they build along the way is the most important part of the book. I think this conclusion to the Take Care trilogy is pitch perfect.
